No dialogue out of surround configured speakers

You should know: When you add expensive Sonos surround speakers to your sound bar, you won't get a drop of TV dialogue out of them. Therefore, they will sit on your shelf as nothing but expensive paperweights, if/when you're watching TV news, for example. If you want dialogue, you have to remove the surround effects, a slow process. There is no toggle. Sonos could engineer the option of letting us get dialogue though surround configured speakers. But whether out of stupidity, or to lure us into buying yet more speakers, they have not done so.

Would automatically switch back to TV speaker

Returned it after 4 hours, plus 1-1/2 hour on phone with Sonos, trying to configure it. Would keep automatically switching back to TV speaker. If only had cable TV input connected to HDMI worked fine. Once connected FireTV stick or DVD player to the other HDMI's sound bar would switch back to TV speaker. Yes, speaker was connected to the eARC HDMI. Sonos tech support was useless.

After several days of the bar working then not working contacted Sonos support to find out that Sonos does not work well with Samsung TV’s. Would have been nice to know before sales pushed it on us….

Good product. Complaint however about best setting for sound (theater) produces delay, so audio does not match video. A different setting brings it into sync, but disappointed about problem.

This product has a glitch thats been not fixed in over a year, if left playing long enough, out of nowhere, regardless of the volume level you are listening to it will start sounding a loud hammering noise, beware, it happened to us in our bedroom at 330 in in the morning after being left to play rain noises, when contacting support, rhe blame our network, but this is a software issue, and users should be aware of this, specially if you have little kids or animals, only way to make it stop is to unplug the speaker

      Posted .

We are deeply sorry for the difficulties you've encountered with your Sonos Beam Gen 2 and the setup process. We understand how frustrating it can be when things don't work as expected, especially when the instructions are unclear or lacking.

We’d like to offer a few steps that may help resolve the issues you’ve faced:

Reinstall the Sonos App: Sometimes, reinstalling the app can resolve connectivity or functionality issues. You can find the Sonos app in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

Wi-Fi & Network Check: Ensure that your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Sonos Beam, as this is essential for proper setup and operation.

Software Update: Make sure both your Sonos Beam and the app are running the latest software versions. To check for updates, go to the settings in the Sonos app.

Resetting the Beam: If the app continues to malfunction, a factory reset may help restore functionality. To reset the Beam Gen 2, hold down the Play/Pause button on the device for around 15 seconds until the LED starts flashing amber and white. After that, you can set it up again via the app.

We greatly appreciate your patience, and we are committed to resolving your experience. If the issue persists, our customer support team at support.sonos.com would be happy to assist further. Thank you for your feedback. john.milton

the sound does not match the words. It worked fine to start and slowly became a problem. Geek guy came out and reset the match and it has slowly gotten worse. Are you interested in fixing it?

I purchased this over the "sono hype" and I was not amused. For the price, this product is overrated especially when the subwoofer is more than the sound bar. I was very displeased and returned the next day.

I have an LG Oled and the words will not sync correctly to the picture. This is a problem low quality soundbars have. I put up a wall mount that i purchased from amazon so now im out money for that as well because sonos wont take care of it. I thought Sonos was the best of the best but it cant even lip sync audio. Joke to say the least.

My husband and I just wasted 4 hours of our life trying to connect this speaker. We are both tech savvy and nothing we tried worked. I’ve unplugged our router, ethernet cable, set and reset the app and speaker all with no luck. Just received today and it’s going back tomorrow. I will never purchase another Sonos product.

    My equipment keeps shutting down.

After only about 60 days after my purchase, the equipment I purchased in connection with my TV shuts down every 18 to 19 minutes. I keep my basement equipment on at the same time, and that equipment is more than 10 years old, it does not shut down and the TV is still on. So it is not a Comcast issue. I will bring this to the attention of the Best Buy sales manager and installer and I hope they can solve the problem. If they can do so, I will increase my overall rating to a much higher rating.
