    This soundbar uses your cell phone instead of a remote. But it would not connect to my android phone. The soundbar gives a series of tones that are supposed to communicate a pin code to the phone. If that doesn't work, there should be a printed pin code on the back of the soundbar. Mine did not connect. I could not find the pin as it was printed in invisible ink with no hint as to where on the back I could find the code. The Geek Squad knew where to look and used his cell phone camera to read the dimly visible code. But the soundbar still would not connect. Sonos tried to sell a fancy overkill process and failed 100%

We understand how inconvenient this must have been, especially with the inability to connect your Android phone and locate the necessary PIN code.

      It sounds like the connection issue has been particularly challenging, and while the PIN code should be easily accessible, the difficulty finding it and the trouble with pairing are understandably frustrating. Here are a few troubleshooting steps that might help improve the setup experience:

      Locating the PIN Code: While it can be tricky to see, the PIN is usually printed on a label at the bottom of the soundbar or in the device’s settings in the app. You can also try scanning the code with a flashlight or using your phone’s camera to make it more visible, as the Geek Squad did.

      Reset the Beam: If the initial pairing process fails, try performing a factory reset on the Beam Gen 2. Unplug it from power, then hold the join button while plugging it back in. Continue holding until the light flashes amber, then follow the setup process again.

      Alternative Setup via Ethernet: If the wireless setup continues to fail, try connecting the Beam Gen 2 to your router using an Ethernet cable during the setup process. Once it’s connected, you can switch it to wireless afterward.

      Try Different Devices: If your Android phone is still not connecting, try completing the setup with a different phone or a tablet. Sometimes, using another device can help with the initial connection.

    Best Christmas Gift Ever!

    This was a Christmas present and my husband was very thrilled. As he really love the sound coming through. He had a few mishap setting it up, but he figured it out and it has been working great!

    The speakers sound good when the system works. S1 to S2 app: Most updates broke my multisspeaker system. Eventually, the only way to prevent this was to run an ethernet cable from wifi router in one room, up into the attic, back down into my bedroom. So much for a wireless system. Now the S2 app no longer supports my ios version. Nothing in S2 was updated or changed. Unless you’re ok buying a new smartphone just so you can keep using your overpriced speaker system, don’t buy into the Sonos hype.

    Sound great but there is an issue with the sound on the 4k Apple TV. Need to switch sound settings on the Apple TV to 5.1 stereo instead on leaving it on Dolby atmos for some of the tv shows or movies.

    DO NOT BUY! My company, which supports IT, computer systems, etc. was hired to install this for a home user client of mine. Was an absolute night mare! after over 90 minutes if setup time and updates, the system would work if it wanted to. Very unreliable, painful setup. Not a dependable unit. After calling Sonos tech support, we reset units and reinstalled and then was a new problem. We boxed it up to return to bestbuy as this is the worst system my company and I have ever touched!

    This product is great…when it works. Sonos connectivity issues are rampant and their new app is beyond awful. I spend 20 minutes trying to get my system to work every time I want to play music. Beyond frustrating. I would not recommend Sonos to anyone.
