    Pleasantly Surprised

I wanted a sound bar that didn’t have trembling bass to be considerate to my neighbors since I live in an apartment complex. Figured since this one didn’t have a subwoofer that it would be good enough. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the sound was despite not having the subwoofer. The tuning using the iOS app where it makes you walk around the room with your phone so that it can adequately measure your surroundings did a pretty decent job. The simulated surround sound that apparently bounces sound waves off your walls for the effect worked well enough. I think the real place where this shines though is music. Reasonably crisp highs and balanced mids and lows make this a an ideal speaker even when you’re not using it with the tv. Probably because it uses WiFi rather than Bluetooth which allows for greater range. I didn’t expect to but have bought into the Sonos “halo” and will likely end up getting at least one other Sonos product for other rooms.

I had echo speakers all over my house and yard, until I purchased my Sonos Move, then all of the sudden every speaker was 100 off so I bought 8 and 3 sound bars. I can create groups and use alexa to control them and my amazon music app. best sound ever

    Great speaker, needs better instructions

Let me start off by saying I personally have owned multiple Sonos Play 1’s and a 2 Playbars. So I am familiar with set up. I bought my father this one for Christmas. He had no chance at setting this up because there is virtually no instructions. I thought he was just not trying hard enough. So I went over and the instructions say download the Sonos app. That is the first problem. There are several Sonos apps. He had no idea which one they were talking about-nor would anyone else. It also refers to an hdmi arc cable. It doesn’t come with it. The only cable in the box is an optical cable. This also made it confusing as it said if you don’t have the arc cable you would need the cable it came with that supposedly wasn’t included. Then it states it will tell you when to plug in your speaker and it never does It never walks you through to add the speaker either. Fortunately I have added speakers to my own system so I could figure it out. Honestly an extra page in the manual with more than a few words on it would help someone who isn’t tech savvy set this up on their own It seems like every company is doing this and it’s quite annoying my father said the next time I buy him something it better just plug in. Overall the Alexa listens well and the sound is far better than the Bose sound bar it replaced (made no difference from the tv speaker). I do recommend this speaker but I wish they would explain how to set it up rather than leaving you to the wolves

Could you spend less on a soundbar? Yes. It is worth spending a little more on this one? Yes. Especially if you can find it in your budget and floor plan to add a pair of surrounds, either the Sonos One/SL/Play:1 or the IKEA Symfonisk. It’s a quick and easy surround setup that sounds great. Fills a small room comfortably even without the pricy Sonos Sub and does so in an elegant, small package. Especially if you can catch it on sale or with a rebate like I did, it’s perfect mix of price/value for someone who wants very good sound but isn’t interested in getting deeply into home theater geekery. I’m a geek, but I never wanted a full receiver with all the bells and whistles. This (plus a pair of Play:1’s) was a nice little surround setup perfect for my needs.

I purchased this Sonos Beam to add to our Sony X900E TV which has terrible built-in speakers. Setup was extremely simple and the sound quality is excellent. I love how easy this speaker is to use across all of our devices in the house.

Another add to our Sonos family

We have now seven different Sonos speakers in our house. We wanted something for our living room upstairs as we tend to spend more time in that room watching TV or movies than in our basement family room. We moved to of our play 3 speakers as surrounds and the sound is great. With the three paired the whole room is filled with sound. I love the options for 'night' listening in case others are asleep or you wake up early. Music playback sound is top quality as expected from Sonos. The Alexa add in is nice but my only complaint is the limited Alexa functions. Voice commands through the beam are not the same as through say an echo device. We have an open area between our kitchen, dinning and living area with an Amazon Show in our kitchen. Sometimes the two compete so we simply turn off the voice with the press of a button on the beam. Not a product issue with the beam but something to keep in mind if you have other amazon voice enabled devices near by. The beam does have AMAZING voice recognition from far distances.

I've had a couple soundbars over the past few years, but I've found the soundbar that I'll keep for the rest of my life. Crystal clear sound, easy to set up, decent price. It's a great purchase if you're in the market for a soundbar.

great sound especially middle range, set up easily, Sony TV knew it was attached and told me where to plug it in and how to set it up. helps with enhanced sound from my TV and works well with iPhone app. Set up easily for Google and responds accordingly. Enjoy having and using it.

Bought this instead of the Playbar because of the ability of being a smart Soundbar but packs the sound quality of the Sonos brand. For a small Soundbar it beats out a lot of the setups out there offered by other companies. Looks great, sounds clear, and powerful for a small to mid size room.

Was hesitant at first because of the small size but I have to say this sound bar does pack a punch and is a great addition if you already have Sonos speakers. I will say that my play:5 does have more bass and does sound better when listening to music but still a great speaker for watching tv.

Outstanding product - did a lot of shopping and researching before buying the beam and was still unsure when I purchased it but on getting it home and unpacking it the set up was easy and the unit just preforms - so I'm one really pleased customer with great sound and will be expanding the system soon

I normally opt for bookshelf speakers, a subwoofer, and receiver for my home audio needs. I needed an audio system for my small living room set up, however, I was pressed for space. So I opted for a soundbar instead. I knew already that in general soundbars sound inferior to a full bookshelf speaker+sub set up. So when I first heard this soundbar, I was very surprised by how good it sounded. It sounded close enough to a speaker system with a decent amount of bass and rumble in the low end, good detail in the treble range, and a lovely mid range that makes dialogue easy to understand -- and I saved a whole lot of room in the end! The sound fills the room up with no problem and it can get more than loud enough for our living room. Setting it up was a quick and painless process. Expensive for a soundbar, but I definitely got what I paid for and perhaps a little more.

I’ve owned a sonos playbar, sub and play 1 surround setup for well over a year for my home theater. I was on the fence of getting another setup like that for my living room but I though I would try to save a few bucks and give a beam a try. I came into this with overly high expectations. Setup on this was a BREEZE, my tv has HDMI ARC and did the setup all by itself. After a quick 5 minute tune on the speaker through the app we were up and running! This speaker is recommended for a small to medium room. I’d say that my living room which is open to my kitchen would be medium to large but, why not make it work. Granted I have hardwood floors to help the sound but it fills the entire area great. The bass is on point for general TV and the audio quality is great. The bang for your buck is right on point. For a dedicated home heater, I’d recommend the playbar, sub and some surrounds. For anything else this sound bar is fantastic and comes at a great value in my opinion. Cheers!

Setup was easy except mine came defaulted to music not tv which seems strange for a “soundbar.” Took longer to figure out how to change from music to tv than it did to set the thing up which was a bit annoying. However, once I figured out how to toggle from tv to music, how to control the treble and bass to my likings and got the voice activation working, love it!

Love this sound bar, connected to tv and cable box and use as main source of sound. Best part, I connected to my 2 Sonos one I use as surround sound with no issues. Use to gave annoying lip syncing issues but this bar removed those issues. Pricey but well worth it.

Fantastic sound, hooked up easily and looks very nice i orig bought one of these and some sonos speakers etc to add to my living room set up which has some other older speakers and a sub woofer etc and I liked the great sound etc plus alexa in the bar -that I went out a couple of weeks later and bought more and changed over the master bedroom sound set up there too also adding the beam bar and New sonus speakers in there too and with the wireless networking u can send what’s playing in one to the other and Vice versa if I want and listen to same source in both places or use them separately and the phone app on my I phone controls it all so no matter where I am in the house with Alexa and the sonos app I can do whatever I want with all kinds of choices. Great setups nice looking equipment also.

Purchased the Sonos Beam as an easy solution to support a second TV (42"). Set up and operation very easy and the sound quality is a great improvement over on-board TV at a fraction of the cost of a dedicated separate channel home theatre system.

I recently bought the Beam and am happy with the product. Set-up is easy and requires no thought. I use it both for music and tv. The sound is good and clear. It’s not as loud as I would like but I’m sure that also depends on the size of your room. The real value is the sonos integration which makes this useful when not watching tv. Bass is adequate but you can’t expect much more from something so small.

I’m so impressed with this soundbar paired with the subwoofer. Setting up and pairing with Subwwofer was very simple. Blown away by the sound and the must have features. Being able to level out the volume for night viewing while kid is sleeping is a great feature used a lot.
