The Sonos Beam Soundbar really has exceeded my expectations. First off, the packaging was easy and clean looking. The setup requires you install on an app on your phone and walks you through the process of installing and measuring the room it is in by using your phone to hear the dimensions. I placed it in my bedroom as I already have a sound system setup in my living room. Initially, playing music sounded good. Real good, nice and clean. I've heard a lot of about Sonos and they seem to have a good reputation and they didn't disappoint this time, but wasn't sure if it was worth the price tag. Well what really impressed me is multi speaker design and how it take advantage of the space of the room. I felt goofy moving my phone around the bedroom in front of my girlfriend, but its completely worth it. I listen to music or rain sounds when I sleep. Well come the morning time I was listening to rain sounds and it sounded incredible in my bedroom. Rain sounded to come from one angle, thunder came from the sides. It was a like a genuine surround sound in my bedroom. I always used my Amazon Echo Dot to listen to this, but this was a huge upgrade! Having Alex built into the soundbar is a nice bonus. You can also add other services such as Audible and Google music along with Pandora or Spotify, but only Alexa works natively from your voice that I am aware of. The sound bar is so nice I'm planning to upgrade my bedroom tv now just to match the great sound coming from it, something I had zero intention on doing before I got the sound bar.

The speech does not match exactly to the lips on the TV. The Geek Squad programed it as close as they could; but it is still irritating to watch.

I will say this: It's probably very good, but I just wanted something less involved/complicated. Ended up with the Yamaha YAS-108 instead, for less than half the price.

While the sound its great, I find it a bit awkward to need my phone beside me to adjust the volume. It would be a better product with a remote

Proprietary and only works with other Sonos products. I didn’t know that, but I could live with that. But, I’ve had an issue with the sound cutting out for a second every five to ten seconds. I’ve tried everything I can to fix it. If you do research online one discovers this is a problem affecting a large number of consumers.

Did not sound as good once connected to the T.V. Only slightly better sound. Some say I may need to buy the woofer, which would be another expense.

I have tried this sound bar three different times with three different HDMI cords to try to fix the sound problems. Even with a new (expensive) cord, I still get sounds that remind me of a 16mm projector from the 1970s. Our previous Sony sound bar that cost half as much provided much better sound and lasted for 10 years. This product was a huge waste of money

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with your Beam! If you are still encountering that problem after multiple HDMI cords there are only a few other potential issues. First, have you ever connected any other sound device to your ARC HDMI port? If not, that could be an issue. Use the included digital optical adapter and try the digital optical port on the television (you likely have one if you have an ARC port). If you encounter the same problem then it rules out the ARC port as an issue which leaves two other potential issues. The Beam may be defective or there is some sort of wireless interference impacting the Beam. Both of those issues can be addressed by our Customer Experience team which you can contact in multiple ways through sonos.com/support. This team can have you run a diagnostic on your system through your app and determine what is happening and give you a solution! john.milton

Do not buy if you own a Vizio TV

This sound bar has caused me nothing but problems!! At first, this sound bar worked perfectly and the sound on this is superb. But after about 3 months, it stopped responding to my remote control. I couldn’t control the volume and would have to use Alexa to manage the volume. This was annoying but hey at least it worked and sounded great. About 3 months after this, it completely stopped working with the TV. My Vizio TV recognized the Beam, but no sound or response with the remote. I tried power cycling, unplugging both the TV and Beam, factory resetting. Nothing has worked. I might get lucky and the Beam will work for a day before it stops communicating with the TV. Both Sonos and Vizio support have been useless at fixing my problem. They both blame each other for the issue. The Beam works fine on my Samsung TV. I’ve tried the Beam on multiple Vizio TVs with the same issue. If you own a Vizio, stay far away from this sound bar!!!

Thanks for your feedback about your experience with the Beam. This appears to be an HDMI issue that is resolved when using your Samsung television. If the HDMI connection is the issue then switching to the provided digital optical dongle in the box would likely resolve the issue as well. john.milton

Soundbar will not stay connected to TV, and has to be constantly reset. Called Best Buy for help or replacement, not their problem; told us to contact manufacturer. No assistance. Googled to find, no customer-friendly contact options. So we’re stuck with a $400 piece of junk. Would rate Sonos and Best Buy 0 stars.
