Unreliable and Overpriced
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having used Sonos speakers for a year now, I can confidently say that they are incredibly unreliable, and for the money spent, this is simply unacceptable. Sonos promises a seamless wireless listening experience, but the reality is far from it. Despite their marketing claims, these speakers struggle to maintain a stable connection, making them more of a hassle than a luxury. Connection Issues From the very beginning, I faced constant connectivity problems. Whether it was connecting to Wi-Fi or maintaining a stable connection during playback, the speakers consistently failed. It’s incredibly frustrating to start a song only to have it cut out halfway through because the speaker can’t stay connected. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting steps suggested by Sonos support, but nothing has resolved the issue. It’s disappointing to pay a premium price for a product that can't deliver on its most basic promise. Setup and Software Problems The initial setup was a nightmare. The app is supposed to guide you through the process, but it’s not as intuitive as it should be. Frequent software updates often lead to more problems than solutions. After each update, I hoped the connectivity issues would be resolved, but they persist. Instead of enjoying music, I find myself constantly fiddling with settings, restarting devices, and reconnecting speakers. Performance and Sound Quality When the speakers do manage to stay connected, the sound quality is decent, but it doesn’t justify the price tag. There are other speakers in the market that offer similar or better sound quality at a lower price point. The intermittent connectivity severely affects the listening experience, often leaving me frustrated rather than entertained. Customer Support Dealing with customer support has been another disappointment. They are polite and try to be helpful, but ultimately, they have not provided a solution to the ongoing connectivity issues. I’ve spent countless hours on calls and chats with no real resolution. It's clear that these issues are inherent to the product and not isolated incidents. Conclusion After a year of giving Sonos speakers every opportunity to prove themselves, I can definitively say that I will never buy these products again. They are unreliable, overpriced, and fail to deliver on their core promise of a wireless listening experience. I have warned friends, family, and anyone who will listen to avoid Sonos. For the money spent, one would expect a high-quality, hassle-free product, but Sonos has proven to be the opposite. Save your money and avoid the frustration by looking elsewhere for your audio needs.

Terrible app for what were good speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 7 Sonos speakers in my home and have given a half-dozen more as gifts. Prevously I enjoyed their flexibility, wide-range functionality, and reasonably good sound quality. However, the May 2024 software update eliminated many of the virtues of the Sonos platform and has deleted all the favorites and playlists I developed over the last decade. Please read the reviews on the Sonos app from the Play Store or elsewhere before you buy. Although I have been a big fan in the past, I cannot recommended these speakers now.

Don’t Buy Sonos Era 100s to Connect to Turntable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Sonos Arc and Sub and recently purchased two Era 100 speakers so I could connect my turntable to Sonos. Don’t! The Era 100s only accept in-line connections when they are in their own group, meaning you CAN'T USE YOUR SPEAKERS IN SURROUND SOUND MODE, i.e., the whole point of adding satellite speakers. This is all so you have to buy a $450 Port to connect I guess. This lack of functionality isn’t mentioned on the site (https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/listen-to-your-turntable-on-sonos# and https://www.sonos.com/en-us/blog/listening-to-vinyl-with-sonos), they just act like it connects your turntable to your existing system. In reality you must choose between discrete, calibrated surround sound channels paired to your Arc... or using Era 100s as additional speakers with no surround sound capability. Your Arc and your Era 100s will play the same channel and the sound will be muddied in the room since there are delay issues AND you won't be able to watch movies in surround. I reached out to customer service (and the CEO, don’t bother) and got a form letter back about the technical capabilities, nothing about how important information on functionality was relegated to help pages you find AFTER you buy. I did get a 20 percent off coupon — on the weekend that they have a 20 percent off sale. Never again!

TERRIBLE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own 11 other sonos products and this one I cannot recommend. It has been nothing but a nightmare from day one to try and get it connected to the system. Once I finally resolved that issue it now randomly unpairs from groups of speakers and then won't reconnect to any speaker even though it's still connected to the system and you can play music through it. What a total failure. From what I can tell this will eventually force everyone of us who is bought into the Sonos ecosystem to "upgrade" to this new way of connecting since Sonos is deprecating the sonosnet. I'll be out at that point and hope that all other people who use their products leave as well. I've been a HUGE supporter of Sonos but this has been an abject failure at this point. I can't stress enough that I can't recommend this product (which also means the era300 as well since it works in the same manner). As for sound, it's not really THAT different from a standard play 1. If your new to Sonos and these are your first buy then it'll be fine but if you're an existing customer, like myself, you'll probably end up disappointed. Search the web yourself and find out the issues that exist in keeping this thing connected to your WiFi and existing Sonos products/system.

Posted .Sonos systems are designed to be compatible with both iOS and Android devices, but sometimes issues can arise depending on software versions or device settings. Here are a few steps to ensure better performance with Android devices:
App Update: Make sure the Sonos app is up-to-date on your Android device, as newer versions may contain important fixes and improvements.
Network Settings: Ensure your Android device is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Sonos system, as this is necessary for them to communicate.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi: If you're using Bluetooth to pair, double-check the Bluetooth connection. If you're using Wi-Fi, ensure your router is set up for optimal connectivity.
We truly value your feedback and are committed to improving your experience. If the issues persist, please reach out to our customer support team at support.sonos.com so we can assist you further. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Wait till they get their software fixed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sonos released a 'new' app a few months ago and its been a total disaster. Thr CEO even apologized for it. This hardware is basically useless without the app and right now the software is reallly unstable.

Posted .It's disheartening to hear that the recent app release has caused so much frustration, especially when the hardware itself has such great potential. The situation with the app is concerning, and we understand how critical reliable software is to the overall experience. It's important to note that Sonos has acknowledged the issues, and while our CEO's apology is a commitment to resolving these problems, we understand that doesn't alleviate the current inconvenience.
If you're facing issues, here are some steps that might help:
Check for Updates: Ensure your app and devices are running the latest software version. Sometimes, patches and updates can resolve these kinds of issues.
Reboot the System: Try rebooting both your Wi-Fi router and Sonos devices. This can sometimes help re-establish stable connections.
Factory Reset: As a last resort, performing a factory reset on your Sonos devices and setting them up again might resolve persistent connection issues. Just be aware that this will erase all current settings and data.
Contact Support: If you continue to experience issues, reaching out to Sonos support for personalized assistance can be beneficial. You can reach out at support.sonos.com.
Hopefully, these steps can improve your experience while we work on resolving the app issues.

Have the box for return
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Acts as a regular speaker, could get the same volume and quality from any cheaper speaker. Can’t return unless you have the original box (Geek Squad agent took mine during install) even if it’s within 30 days.
