Sonos has a fantastic sound for sure, however, the app is so unreliable and buggy as well as the tech support. Score: SOUND QUALITY - Plus 5 Stars: Really good sound quality but at this price point it should be. The 100s are a bit underpowered though. APPLICATION - Minus 2 stars. This is extremely important since you dont get a physical remote. The app is known to be unreliable for several years but Sonos wont fix it. Issues with the app are: the UI is horrible. You have to go more than 3 levels deep just to change the EQ. The UI is not intuitive at all. The app constantly asks you to log in and back out several time to work. The app will start playing music out of the blue one or two times every other day for no reason. Very Anoying at 2:00am in the morning. The app is just plain terrible for even a low end product. Sonos needs to look at their competitors which have much better apps. SUPPORT: Minus 1 Star- Tech support is horrible. I got cut off over and over again on several occasions. The tech support is obviously offshored to save money.

Thank you for providing such detailed feedback on your experience with the Era 100. While we are thrilled to hear that you’re impressed with the sound quality, We are genuinely sorry to learn about the frustration you’ve experienced with the app and tech support. It’s especially disappointing to hear that these issues have detracted from the overall experience of using your Sonos system.

We completely understand your concerns about the app’s reliability and usability, especially given how crucial the app is without a physical remote. The fact that you’re facing multiple layers just to adjust the EQ, along with random music playback and frequent log-ins, is unacceptable and understandably frustrating. We know how much the app plays into the overall user experience, and we apologize that it hasn’t lived up to your expectations.

We also want to acknowledge your concerns about tech support. Being cut off and having difficulty resolving issues is incredibly frustrating, and we are sorry that this has been your experience.

We value your input and are committed to making improvements based on what our customers are telling us. If there’s anything we can assist you with moving forward, please don’t hesitate to reach out at support.sonos.com. We’re here to help and truly appreciate you being a part of the Sonos community. john.milton

Awesome sound and nice addition of Bluetooth. I think all Sonos systems should have had Bluetooth from the beginning.

Recently purchased 2 era 100s to join with the Sonos beam soundbar and it is such an improvement. The surround sound is great filling the entire room and so easy to pair up to everything (movies/music etc). Great product, small size large sound & bass!

I enjoy my Sonos system. This speaker is an updated version of the other Sonos 100 speakers that I have and I may consider selling the old ones and updating as I sell.

Wow! The sound that comes out of this is amazing. I am far from an audiophile, but even I notice the difference from a "regular" speaker. I am taking 1 star off, not because of the speakers, but the Sonos companion app. It's not intuitive. After my husband has used the speaker for his music, i find myself fumbling around the app trying to get my music to to connect to the speaker.

Not a worthy upgrade unless you can point to a specific feature you have to have. If you plan on just using this as a speaker via the Sonos app or airplay, find the previous model on sale or close-out. The price is…high. Too high for what you’re getting. This is basically the latest iteration of the same off-the shelf AIWA stereo we grew up with for $100. Little smaller, little better sound. Sonos software is…Sonos software. It can be difficult to add speakers and if it errors, expect headaches. It can be slow to load and frustrating. Conversely removing a speaker is unnecessarily difficult. Like with so many products, Sonos really wants you to use their app. The app…doesn’t need to exist. The reality is most of us use one streaming service…which has an already good app. Many of us probably already have Spotify, Amazon Music, or Apple Music for free through some promotion anyway. If I use Spotify and Apple Music, once again I don’t need them combined in a slow clunky app when I can easily just switch between the two on my phone and use airplay instead of fighting through menus. I have to wonder if Sonos stopped with the app and fired the developers, maybe this product wouldn’t be so overpriced. Fantastic for AirPlay. Easy and quick to connect with only a few occasional connectivity issues. It is mounted on a shelf at about 6’ up on my 3-car garage/home gym wall. Even with the doors up the sound is good (not excellent or very good) and there is some bass but it struggles at times. It fills the space well and gives good energy (what you want for a gym). The sound can be muddy and the bass will struggle as some songs (rock and rap) are too much for the built-in sub. While the previous iteration may not have tried to go as low, it didn’t suffer from this issue. It happens at least once an hour I cringe as the speaker strains and crunches. I will occasionally switch to my Apple BeatsPro mid-workout and compared to the Sonos, they sound like a $10,000 audiophile’s dream system. I can not imagine spending $300-$1,000 on a SONOS subwoofer when the highs and mids are this muddy. You will be better served with a couple bookshelf speakers, sub, and a receiver with airplay or even an Echo Studio with subwoofer. Obviously this isn’t a high fidelity system and honestly Sonos, and Bose, need to stop selling these as “superior sound in a small footprint.” This is “great sound in very small footprint.” Perfect for a home gym, personal office, or a voice assistant with better audio clarity. Rather than picturing an individual bathing in the sound as they count the chords in perfect clarity of their favorite instrumental track, this is more of a teenager bouncing around blaring bubblegum pop on a budget.
