This is by far the best sounding "smart" speaker I've heard. It easily surpassing the sound quality of my two HomePods paired in stereo. Sadly, I did return it because I bought to use as an airplay speaker in my classroom but it's unable to connect to a network requiring a username and password.

This speaker is awesome. I got the Sonos App to manage the system. The app works great, the whole thing was seamless beginning to end. The set up does not take long, and you can source music from various providers all from within the app. I really enjoy the quality sound of this speaker. I highly recommend it.

Upgraded my home multispeakers from Amazon Echos throughout my house to this and the Sonos One. I have one Five and two Ones and they sound great. Dynamic sound everywhere and wherever I am throughout my home. You'll need more if you want the same experience but one is enough for a bedroom.

This is an amazing speaker. It fills the whole house with fantastic sound and range. Was able to hook my turntable directly to the speaker. No need for a port or amp, the turntable has a preamp already. Plus I can play my tv through the Beam and 5.

A great speaker for music. The only negative is that the speaker must be connected to wifi at all times for it to work.

I know these are challenging and trying times but there is something about the sweet sound of music that feels the voids created by this lifes event. The Sonos Five just seems to make the music sound even sweeter. Thanks Sonos you did it again..

The Sonos 5 is a great sounding speaker, very clear and crisp sound with a balance of bass. While more on the expensive side for sound, the wireless Sonos system is great. All speakers tie together over WiFi with one device, such as a cell phone. Makes the speakers easy to move around the house.

I consider myself a bit of an audiophile, and I think this speaker is marginally high-fidelity sound. But the speaker makes up for its audio shortcomings by offering technology simply not yet available with other true high-fidelity speakers. I love that you can modify the bass and treble in its EQ setting, as well as use it through airplay 2 (you will need wifi for this). The price is a bit steep, but in line with other brand names. The sonos five DOES NOT offer bluetooth technology.

Very easy install to existing SONOS system. Speaker is being used as a stand alone (not paired) in office. While sound is good, I was expecting a bit more from this. I also have a pair of SONOS 1’s (sound is great) and a stand alone SONOS 3. The Sonos 5 is better than the SONOS 3, but not by a great margin. If the decision is a stand alone 5 vs a pair of 1’s, I would strongly recommend the 1’s.

Great speaker. Sound quality is impressive. Very comparable to Bose. Only gripe I have is that you can’t use Bluetooth but you can work around it. Only reason I returned was because it didn’t work with what I already had setup. Definitely will re buy once I can afford too.

Sonos provides superior quality in construction, sound and wifi with The Five. Looking forward to connecting the Audio Technica Turntable to the six speakers in The Five with a 3.5 aux connection. We are a Sonos Household!

Good - but “line in” latency made me return it

It’s a great sounding speaker & I desperately wanted it to work, but my specific use case for this speaker made it impractical for me to use and I ultimately returned it. I wanted a Sonos speaker with a Line In capability and (wrongly) assumed that the line in would be latency free - like literally every line in I’ve ever used, but that isn’t the way it works on Sonos speakers. Instead, the line in on this speaker is an input that can be used as an input across your existing Sonos ecosystem, but that cool party trick comes with an unavoidable delay. You can tune the delay down to minimize it, but my use case was to use this as a speaker for a digital piano where the key press needs to instantly be reproduced by the speaker - and even with the smallest delay, it felt - and sounded - unnatural. Great sounding speaker if you don’t care about a line in delay and already are bought into the Sonos ecosystem.
