Sonos rolled out a new update and I keep having to restart my speakers to use them. They wont show up in tidal, Spotify, or even my Sonos app. Check out the reviews on the sonos app before buying. It will tell you all you need to know for the current state of Sonos. Had I known this was coming, I would have ran from Sonos!

Everyone is talking about how great the speaker is right off the bat. Yes, it is a great speaker in the beginning. I got just over a year of use before mine tanked on me (just past the warranty go figure). Wish I could say I abused it or spilled water on it.. spend $500 and get a good speaker for a year. If that’s worth it to you then have at it. I have a $200 dewalt speaker that’s fallen off roofs and still going 5 years later. Sonos lost a customer for good.

The only reason I own one is because it's the only Sonos speaker that has a line-in for things like record players/etc. If you want to get a Play:5, I'd suggest opting for used or open-box to bring the price down. Otherwise, I highly suggest buying 2 Play:1's. In my opinion, having 2 Play:1's set up as left/right stereo speakers is a night and day listening experience to just one lousy Play:5. You can buy 2 Play:1's for $150 less than a single Play:5
