Customers are saying

Customers commend the Move Smart Portable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Speaker's superb sound quality, particularly its amazing bass and impressive volume. Its portability and long battery life are also frequently praised, making it a convenient and versatile option. However, some customers find the speaker's weight and size to be drawbacks, and a few mention that the price point may be relatively high. The speaker's ease of setup is also a positive aspect noted by some users.

I’m an avid Sonos enthusiast and have put off buying the movie for some time now. I finally realized the perfect spot for it in my house and not the bullet… no regrets.

Not loud enough for beach fun! But decent for bedroom, bathroom or den. Not an outdoor speaker

Good sound when it works right. Very temperamental. Constantly having to reset my perfectly good router. I have two other Moves, 2 Ones, 2 Fives, an Arc, a Roam and a Sub. Having the most issues with the Moves. Hard to recommend them

    Sonos vs. Bose

Too large and heavy for a portable. Not a speaker my wife could grab onto and take out on to the porch. I then purchased the Bose and the set up was easier, it has a handle on it for easy carrying and it is 1/2 the size.

    Awesome Portable Speaker

We have a Sonos setup in our home and have been considering adding some additional speakers outdoors, so I was particularly intrigued when Sonos announced the Move speaker series. As with other Sonos products, the Move pairs with your system quickly and easily. Setup was a breeze. The Move is larger than I expected, but I am glad for the size. It gives a little extra oomph to the soundfield. Speaking of which, the sound is rich. I noticed it immediately help fill out the sound in the room if I added it in a room with ceiling speakers. Of course, part of the beauty of the Move is that you can, well, move it whenever you want. It's a portable speaker. Bass is rich and clear. Mids are very clear. And treble is no trouble for the Move. This goes to a main theme for this speaker: it's more a quality speaker that can be moved than it is just a portable speaker. It includes a charging base that it sits in to charge. Honestly, I would have preferred some other more standardized means of charging. That's really my only gripe. Controls are simple clear. The sound is terrific. Use is natural, and it blends seamlessly into any existing Sonos system. Of course, you can also just use it as a BT speaker if you don't otherwise use any Sonos equipment. The battery life estimate of 10 hours from Sonos seems accurate. We routinely just grab it and take it to a different room or set it outside. It has never died on us. Speaking of outside, it is virtually weather-proof. I should mention that the Move works with Google Assistant and Alexa. The microphones used to make it work effortlessly with the digital assistants also have another trick up their sleeves: They measure the feedback when the speaker is moved to a different environment, and the speaker adjusts output based on the environment. Basically, the speaker knows when you move it, and it recognizes how its new location affects the sound, and it then adjusts to maximize the sound. It's pretty impressive technology, and it all happens behind the scenes. This is a very sophisticated piece of equipment. Don't think of it as a portable speaker. Think of it more as a high-end home speaker that can be moved whenever you want. The Move is not cheap, but it is a very high-quality audio component. I'm extremely pleased with it.

I am a huge fan of Sonos products and this speakers does have amazing sound. However, it is not impact resistant. Had mine for a few months and one drop in the carrying case killed it. No repair options. There are better durable speaker options.

The sound is very good. Only problem I have with the product is, it randomly turns on anytime you’re watching something on your phone without asking it to the link. Cannot figure out how to get it to quit doing it. Very annoying

Great Idea Looking for an Audience

After using it for a few days I'm not sure what audience this is working to hit. On the surface it seems like a great idea, but it's too bulky to be used remotely and most blue tooth speakers can do the same thing.

HI, and thank you for your question! The audience is someone who would like incredible sound outdoors from a durable speaker. Someone who is looking to take a speaker outside to listen as opposed to permanently installing speakers out on the patio. Take the move out to your patio and get bigger sound via wifi and use bluetooth as a backup if you need it somewhere wifi isn't available.
Benefits of streaming on wifi instead of bluetooth:
      1) Bluetooth needs to compress audio even more to stream. Wifi doesn't. That means better sound quality
      2) Mobile device notifications can interrupt music on bluetooth, but doesn't on wifi.
      3) Range limitations on bluetooth are 40ft at most and walls and other object can disrupt that wifi will go as far as your network goes
      3) Battery is drained faster on bluetooth because your phone is the source. With Sonos, your phone is just the controller.

Bluetooth is great for on the go listening where there is no wifi, and that's why we added it to this speaker, but it's main function is wifi listening.

We hope this sheds light on what the audience is for Move. john.milton

For the price we are really disappointed. Got our speaker, charged it up while we did the setup (That was a pain to start with, but got it done) Shut it down fully, went to use it 12 hours later, it was at 64%! We thought, this cannot be correct, so charged it again, and again with it fully off, it dropped over night to 72%. We charged it once more, and this time tried the low power mode, after just 6 hours, it was again at 64%. We even tried a full reset, that did not help, we tried support, and again, that did not help, so back it goes.

Good speaker but has issue with going into standby mode when battery is low and difficult to get back functioning. Mines went completely dead. Return for refund. Fix that issue and it's the top speaker on the market

Hi and thank you for taking time to review the Move. The only thing you should have to do when the speaker is almost dead is to set it on the charging base. It'll charge and connect right back up to your system. We're always happy to help get you up and running at sonos.com/support if you ever decide to give it another try. john.milton

I did not like the sound quality and volume level. Sound Quality is ok up to maybe 60% volume, anything higher and it changes to bad sound quality. Before you can use the Bluetooth connection you need wifi connection setup and all the settings aren’t available through Bluetooth. Not good for outdoors at all.
