Customers are saying

Customers commend the Move Smart Portable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Speaker's superb sound quality, particularly its amazing bass and impressive volume. Its portability and long battery life are also frequently praised, making it a convenient and versatile option. However, some customers find the speaker's weight and size to be drawbacks, and a few mention that the price point may be relatively high. The speaker's ease of setup is also a positive aspect noted by some users.

Absolutely terrible. Sold it to me initially which included free installation and then rescinded it and then I lost the other benefits on all prepurchased items when I declined to renew. Have spent hours trying to fix with no calls back or help.

Hi, and thank you for taking the time to review Move! Make sure you're turning the Move off completely when you're not using it, if you don't keep it on the charger. Hold the power button down for a few seconds and you'll hear a sound letting you know it's completely off. john.milton

Battery Drain Problem with Sonos Move

The Sonos Move sounds great. But it has a battery drain problem. When charged to 100%, then turned off completely with a 5 second press of the power button, the Move’s battery drains to zero percent in about 4 days. Also, when the Move is charged to 100%, left in standby mode and not used for 5 hours, the battery drained to 81%. Others are experiencing this problem too if you Google this issue.

Thank you for your feedback about your experience with Move! The battery drain that you are experiencing over the four days indicates that the Move is in standby mode and not completely turned off. It can take up to 15 seconds to fully power down Move and you will know it is powered off by a second tone playing after the tone that plays with the initial button press.

If you are continuing to see this problem contact our Customer Experience team through social, e-mail, or phone (contact information can be found at sonos.com/support) and they will be able to further troubleshoot your issue. john.milton

The best wifi music system on the market

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Sonos system is hands down the best thing out there. Everything is easily controllable from your phone. It’s all wifi based (and optional Bluetooth on the Move device) so you’re not messing around with Bluetooth pairing. There are very few, if any, glitches. The phone app is easy to use and full control of all devices and all music sources is just a touch of your cell phone. Sound quality for the Move device is better than any other competitor device. The portability and easy recharging is also great. A bit expensive, but highly recommended if it fits your budget. Also, they are “Alexa” or “Hey Google” compatible but you must choose which. It can’t be both at once. SONOS is a bit vague about the specs on their devices (particularly the size of the speakers inside the devices). But worry not. They sound big. Finally, these are available on AMZN, Best Buy, and of course SONOS’s web site. There is no reason to buy thru AMZN as the price will actually come up a bit lower at SONOS (due to taxes, depending on where you are). And there’s no reason to have AMZN take a cut of the profits. SONOS is fast with their shipping and their customer service for returns is excellent. If you want to see the devices in person, go to Best Buy and purchase there.

If you plan on using this with a large speaker system connected to Sonosnet, don’t buy it. It does not play well with non-remote speakers. Constant cut outs on not only the Move but the newer Roam as well. I have over $6000 worth of Sonos speakers. I bought one of these to go along with some others I have on the patio. It has been a constant source of frustration.

Hi, and thank you for your review. The reason your Roam and Move may be giving you issues is because they are our only two speakers that do no work on Sonosnet, and rely on your wifi connection to stream. This is because of the nature of the players use going from room to room potentially. There may be interference happening on the system. Personally on my home, I have stucco material on the front of my house that wreaks havoc on smart lightbulbs I have been trying to use around my garage door. Please see this article for network interference issues from our support site.

We are also available to troubleshoot the issue with you. If you want to head over to sonos.com/support, you can reach out to us whichever way you prefer and we'd be happy to help! We're very sorry for your trouble with our portable products, and hope that we can get this resolved for you. john.milton

For Sonos first shot at a portable speaker, this speaker really shines! The signature Sonos sound is great and the ability to either connect through WiFi and Bluetooth (portable mode) is within a push of a button. It was a easy addition to my Sonos home setup using the Sonos app and connecting through Bluetooth was as well. There is a delicate WiFi/Bluetooth switch button in the back. This also supports the Alexa/Google smart assistant, but you can only use one or the other, but not both. AirPlay 2 support is also available which I truly love personally. I'm able to connect my Apple TV 4K to the Sonos in my room to get a bigger sound similar to having a soundbar. Portability is a bit much compared to other speakers within the same price range due to it's size, although the built in handle is very useful. Battery life is comparable to the UE MegaBlast which is around the 9-10 hours mark. The charging dock is a nice touch. There is also a USB-C port located at the back of the speaker just in case you need to charge it without the dock. Overall, you are paying for the Sonos brand and sound. It's pricey, but I also feel like it's worth it with the features beyond being just a speaker. Thanks.

Device Not Compatible with Older SONOS products

This device is not compatible with older Sonos system products. After many hours of frustration trying to connect it and updating apps and IOS protocols, the app finally linked me to the Sonos website that described the fact that you need two separate apps (and even offered to sell me upgraded equipment). Needless to say, this is being returned. I'm now through with Sonos.

Hi, and thank you very much for taking the time to review our products. Unfortunately our products (like all other technology products) are computers. Which after a while need upgrading. Think of using the phone you purchased in 2005 with the software that's out for the newest version of the phone made this year. It won't run very well, and unfortunately that's where we were at with our oldest products. However we still support them and although it's inconvenient using two different apps, most companies stop support altogether on old products. As well as the tradeup program you mentioned which is an above industry standard offer for upgrading 6/7+ year old products. We hope you'll reconsider moving away from our products, but understand your frustration. john.milton

Very disappointed with this product! Sound quality is lacking bass, almost forcing to add an extra bass. The bluetooth is not as responsive and not user friendly. The application for Sonos is useless. Skip this one go for JBL or Bose

OK I'm two months past the warranty period and the product quits on me. I call Sonos they can't fix it would have to buy a new one. Had the product 15 months and it quit and unable to fix. Do not buy this product. Others have had the same complaint so I'm not alone.

This is a genius creation. Sounds great, easy setup, and works seamless just as advertised. So far, no glitches, switches between wifi and bluetooth with ease. I use the Sonos connect as my hub for wired speakers from my receiver. This is a great solution for someone who wants to have portable expandability while having the ability to run independently at home or on the road. The music is perfectly synched with all the other speakers. I love how the app is also a speaker selector, so if you're at home and only want to run this speaker, turn on or off all other speakers..Now you run it on wifi without bluetooth issues like answering your phone, walk away.. whatever, but if your at the beach, bluetooth is available.. A++ Sonos!
