Gret sound and easy integration with other Sonos

We got one of the Sonos Moves to give us seamless music outside and inside. I already have a wired Sonos setup using the older Connected:AMP products to provide whole house sound, but wasn't interested in spending a ton to build a full system outside too. So we decided to test the Move. It's great! The music is perfectly in sync with the rest of the wired music playback (some clever programming I suspect to manage the wireless delay) and the Move actually allows us to have music in other rooms when we're not using it by the pool. For example, we now have tunes in the laundry room (wasn't hard wired for speakers). We'll probably get a second Move to give better pool-side coverage, but the single Move has enough volume that it's great by itself. It's certainly more expensive than other solutions, but it fills a need that otherwise would be very expensive! Other interesting notes: The Alexa integration is convenient, but you can't change the activation word, you must use Alexa. We have a few dots in the house to provide voice command for our home automation but have them set to Echo, so that's kind of a bummer, but maybe it will be fixed in future software updates? The battery in the move is very good. It lasts for 8+ hours (documentation says 10, but I haven't tested), however for the laundry room, we leave the charging ring there, so it's super simple to drop the Move back on the ring and it can play all day, every day and stay fully charged for when we head out to the pool. It's a very well engineered product!

I was looking for a portable speaker with great sound and WOW! Sonos move has it good bass, loud volume, and so far excellent battery life. I couldn't find anything wrong with it till I set it up with Google and you cannot add it to you Google home hub music, I just wanted to cast the same song from my nest speakers and home hub with the move but it won't do that

    Sonos Move is a Hit

I have 25 years in the audio business, to include working with manufacturers on product development. The Sonos Move is an excellent product. I already have a Sonos Arc, so when I opened up the App, it immediately recognized that I had a new Move that need to be installed, as well as the firmware needed to be updated, this was done in 3 minutes. Then the Move was ready, I held down the play button and it joined the Arc, playing the same music. I Also used Apple Airplay 2 to listen to the Move, very easy. I tried the range of the wifi, and was extremely impressed, I got over 100 feet. I then used the Bluetooth which worked well, I do however wish it would handoff automatically, like the new roam is supposed to do. Now for sound quality, when you consider the size of the Move, it truly is excellent, and you can adjust the eq levels in the app. You can also put a volume limit in the app. Trueplay works very well, it adjusts to the environment, again the sound for the size is excellent. Battery life was about 11 hours as advertised, which is plenty, I am a fan of removable batteries, so this could be a nice upgrade in future models. I also don’t like the handle, it doesn’t have the firm hold. But all in all an excellent product

Great potable speaker, yes it’s expensive compare to what’s available, but this works well with a existing Sonos setup In your home. Just pick up the speaker and go, replace it to start charging. Sound adapts really well when you move it around. Same Sonos music quality that they are already known for. Super simple setup. Feels rugged and would withstand the wear and tear if you took on the go.

If you’re a music nut and never know where you want the jams, this is for you. It gets hauled all over my house and provides long battery lasting great sounding music. Pros: easy setup, simple switch between range limiting Bluetooth or whole house WiFi enabled, handles bass well, great design Cons: stretching here, but maybe it’s too heavy for some??

I bought this to use with my other Sonos pieces. It was a breeze to set up is pretty heavy for a single speaker. You can place the thing anywhere. The sound is pretty good lots of bass but not much in the middle. You can adjust the settings for sound with the app and it’s works well with whatever internet based app you use. It was a little pricy I have an older Bose that is blue tooth only and sounds much better. However the portability makes it much easier for me to use in my current home.

All kidding aside, I truly love being able to take this speaker outside easily. The battery life is pretty good, it recharges quickly and you get that great Sonos sound. Super easy to setup as expected with a Sonos product. The only drawbacks are that the thing is seriously heavy for a portable speaker and it's a chunk of change.

If you are already invested into the Sonos ecosystem, this speaker is a no brainer. I’ve owned many of the JBL portable speakers over the years and was hesitant to spend this much on a portable speaker. However, it’s Sonos and they are known for superior sound quality and functionality. Once the speakers was delivered and tested, I had no problem with how expensive it was. Pros: The battery life is fantastic. I’m getting over 10 hours between charges. The bass is very impressive for a speaker of its size. The mids and highs are just right. You also can adjust all of the EQ settings as well as automatic trueplay in the app just like their other speakers. Just like their other speakers, when at home on wifi, you can sync it to your other Sonos speakers. Take this speaker outside in the backyard and keep your whole home audio synced up. It also has Bluetooth so you can still connect to it via Bluetooth when taking it with you away from home. It also has Alexa, Google Home and the new Sonos Voice features. These work flawlessly. Charging was well thought out. It comes with a ring stand with plug that it sits on when not carrying around. It stays on like all other Sonos speakers when on the ring. When off the ring, it will power itself off after about 15 mins of no audio playing to conserve battery power. If you are away, it has a USB C port that you can use to charge it or leave plugged in when away from the ring base when needed. Cons: At this point, I’ve yet to come across a single con. If I had to nit pick about anything, I would say that the wire from the base to the plug isn’t removable so if the wire were to break for whatever reason, the whole base needs to be replaced. I say this is minor because technically, the base isn’t necessary for charging since there is also a USB C port as an option as well. Over all, if anything ever happened to this speaker, I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase it again unless they release a new version of it by that time. The sound is just crazy good as is most of Sonos speakers. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. You will not be disappointed in it.

This is my first Sonos and I’m glad in purchased this one. I got it because it’s portable and has Bluetooth. It’s the ONLY Sonos product that’s Bluetooth enabled. I decided on Sonos because I’ve started creating a Siri smart HomeKit. Sonos will give the entire home quality and versatile capabilities. The sound on the Move is superb! I used to have a Bose MiniSoundlink II and this has way more bass and power. Yes, the speaker I had is not entirely comparable but this speaker is really an improvement. I bought it as an open item ($300) and there weren’t any issues. I must say “Hey Siri, play my liked songs on Spotify on the Move” and it’ll work just fine. If you’re Alexa or Google it will be a much better hearer because it’s pre programmed with those two. The only Apple enabled smart speaker is the HomePod but I wanted something portable and something that had great sound and would work as a whole home system and Sonos is as of now according to my research the pioneer of esthetics and simplicity.

Ok I’m a bit of an audiophile and I write this review from an is what it is perspective. I bought 1 last year and the battery leaked out the USB port. BEST BUY exchanged it for a new one no questions asked. I buy most of my electronics and computers and accessories from BEST BUY for this very reason. That said the new one set up is pretty simple. It took a few tries if you want to use the Sonos interface so I had to uninstall and reinstall a couple times but it worked. I checked it out and you can keep it I use Apple Music and a few other services and I simply Bluetooth connect my phone to the Sonos. THAT works 100% of the time. It comes with a charging ring that keeps the unit charged at all times just keep it plugged in. It’s very low profile so it fits anywhere the Sonos fits. You can buy 2 and pair them for stereo sound and I’m thinking it would sound pretty good. The battery life so far is impressive. I’ve taken it outside, by it’s integrated handle, and played it for almost 3 hours pretty loud and still had 38% battery. I mean loud. Certain music sounds pretty good. Full bodied. Decent bass and respectable vocals and brass. Electric Jazz sounds great. Metal is challenging depends largely on recording quality. Sonos performs best on compressed digital music. Which is a lot of what’s out there today. If your using it as home theater definitely get 2. In fact if this is the primary sound system in the space get 2. For me it’s my work space, portable and RV sound. Beach, woods, pool and deck. It should be noted it holds up in wet dirty conditions. I was in yard and it was drizzling and the speaker got pretty wet no ill effects. It fills any reasonable space pretty well. If your looking for a portable play anywhere no electricity necessary I think you can’t go wrong. In fact we take it on vacation an have the best sound anywhere we go especially outdoors.

Excellent sound for around the house. I liked the first one so much that I grabbed a second (open-box). Really fills the room, the bass is perfect and love the ability to adjust treble and bass from the app. It is also very durable. Great add-on to my current Sonos product and the built-in Alexa works great (especially for Amazon Music).

I have tried out lots of bluetooth speakers and this one blows all of them out of the water except for the JBL Boombox which is of equal price but its huge. I wanted something smaller that still sounded good and gets loud outside. I know some have complained that the Move is too big but when compared to the boombox it is small, so it works for my needs. Anyone who says you're better off getting a Megaboom 3 or Megablast must be hard of hearing. The sound is way better on the Move. The price tag is scary but I found a great deal on an open box so it was a little more doable. The battery life is spot on for 10 hrs at medium volume. I'm anxious to see how long it lasts at higher volumes though. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase!

I LOVE this speaker!!!! The handle on the back is so convenient for moving it around - although it is quite heavy and a bit awkward to carry but that’s to be expected of course. The choice between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity is also a really nice feature that I love about Sonos products. and of course the sound is amazing and I love that when you leave it on the charger it’s just always on so I never have to worry about turning it on and off like other speakers.

Already an owner of SONOS products for my home theater setup and wanted a robust outdoor speaker. The SONOS Move is terrific. Not the cheapest bluetooth speaker, but built like a tank. The charging cradle is practically invisible when the speaker sits on it, and battery life is long, as advertised. One of the first Bluetooth speakers I have had where there was not a noticeable drop in bass when switching from wall power to battery. Construction is solid as can be, sound is full and very spacious and satisfying for a mono speaker. I don't feel like I'm losing much by not having a stereo pair. The speaker's Trueplay feature re-tunes the acoustics for the environment when it's moved, which is terrific. Built-in Alexa or Google Play, depending on which assistant you select. This speaker is not cheap but was well worth the price - very, very satisfied.

This isn’t for the person that wants to be the loudest. Exceptional Base clear sound quality! Adaptive to environment for great sound quality. Not loud noise. Many products louder. It is loud with great quality sound. The sound will make you feel like it’s not loud enough. Then you step way way way back and your hearing perfection from a far. Took it to the beach we turned it up and watched the people gather. With all of the social distance we made a point to distance ourselves and people respected distance and were amazed. Great overall product. Turned all the way up battery will last about 6 hours on Bluetooth. By the way it does everything to not distort sound. Great speaker. Read a lot of complaints about weight I think that someone is looking for a reason not to love this speaker. I will say I wish it Bluetooth 2 speakers love them that much.

It's difficult to decide on a rating for this, because the speaker itself is fantastic. The sound quality is good, it's *very* durable (my dad dropped it from 4 ft off the ground, it's massively dented on the front, and still sounds great). It's very portable, easy to pick up, put anywhere convenient, and then set back in the charger without any fiddling. The buttons are responsive. My only complaint with it is with the Sonos system, which is very finicky. The app likes to forget that I'm a member of my own system and have to "rediscover" this speaker (it's the only Sonos product I own, and will probably continue to be the only one because of this). So if I go too long without using it, I have to basically set up my home system again in the app. But this is a problem with the app, not the speaker, so five stars for the speaker, and the app will be reviewed on it's own merits on the Google Play store instead.
