Get this speaker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality of even one speaker beats the pants off a Bluetooth setup. The product way exceeds my expectations

Great sound. Great utility.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unit as demo. I wanted to check out the sound. Why do such a thing for such an expensive device? Well, I also have bought into Samsung's SmartThings Home Automation/ Smart Home platform. I needed a compatible speaker so that I could do announcements for event based triggers. Seems expensive just for that purpose, but I figured this "demo" plus use in my home automation would be a good way to decide whether or not I want to continue to spend on this platform. I want to ultimately replace my tired small Sound Bar now that I've bought my first home and don't have to worry about apartment neighbors. I'd like something movable and flexible. This product seems to fit that bill nicely. PROS: - Great Sound. - Easy to setup provided you have supported devices to do it. - Works great with SmartThings (provided SmartThings itself is working LOL) - There is a good API. Since they won't be supporting Universal Windows Platform (a major CON), at least I can use TheHomeRemote to design a custom app to control my device (and potential expanded system). I will still likely need to keep a lousy Android phone around to do other admin stuff, however. I knew full well what to expect when I bought this unit. There are many limitations, but I wanted to see if I could live with them. Here are my perceived cons: CONS: - While WIFI mesh communication between units is great idea, I think I'd prefer still the option to stream to the "system" via Bluetooth. It's convenient, doesn't require a controller app, etc. I get it's not the same and certainly not what they intend, but it's how I feel. I don't want to ask friends and guests to install the controller app whenever they want to play some music, for ex. If not Bluetooth, then at least Line-In on all of their models to accommodate for this. - Controller app is required for basically everything. - Controller app(s) are rather cluttered and I don't believe is as smooth to navigate as it should be. - Controller app for Windows 10 (desktop/ mobile) is not in the works and is not being considered at-all at this time. This means if you're a Microsoft person, you better settle for Win32 or own an iPhone/Android device to do stuff. This is based on an official reply to community requests on forums 4/15/2016 see (https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/windows-10-controller-6730901/index9.html#post16005816) - With their somewhat recent reduction in workforce and refusal to support new and emerging OS (Windows 10, notably), I'm concerned that their refocused effort to compete with Amazon Echo (i.e. voice control) and the like, will mean a much quicker end to support for existing products. These are pretty expensive speakers to be worrying about support any time soon. I remember when I bought my first JamBox before they became big... not long after they became popular and decided to build bigger units, they just dropped support for updating my model (which was one of the selling points behind the unit for me in addition to super portable audio). I didn't cry too much, I got it a super promotional price at AT&T when they debuted. Final word: I'll be researching competing solutions before considering further buy into this platform. If you're an Apple/ Android user, however, this system does pump out some great sound.

Perfect sound and easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the speaker to put in my kitchen, in a place where I don't have much space, my Bakers rack. I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up and the sound is amazing. I highly recommend to anyone who is intimidated by technology, you won't believe how easy it is.

Sonos are the best for multi-room speakers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sonos are great multi-room streaming speakers. They support all the popular streaming online music services with no need to keep the app running on your iPhone like with Bluetooth speakers. Sonos is very good about updating the software and firmware to support new services and features. Now with Alexa support and planning to support Apple Airplay 2 and Google in the future. These speakers do just about everything and keep getting better. You won't be able to buy just one.

Sonos Part II
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to go with my other Sonos products so we can stream music in our 3-season porch. It sounds great, it's easy to use, and it just works. I've had issues with other streaming devices (Sony HAP-S1, I'm looking at you) and this was a breath of fresh air.

Filling the house with sound is easy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had several different systems to play music throughout the house over the years. Most were complicated and required professional installation. The Sonos system was so easy to set up and the sound quality is excellent (even in our "echo chamber" foyer). It's even easy to add additional speakers later. I highly recommend it.

Sonos Heaven
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These speakers are my second Sonos purchase, having previously purchased the Sonos 3. I purchased two Sonos 1 speakers for a den (15 x 17 feet sized room) and am very happy with the sound quality. Easy to stream music through Amazon Prime. Good base and mid range. Love the Sonos products, just wish they went on sale more often!

Great Sound System
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to install. Easy to use. Great sound. What not to like? We used Sonos system for 3 years for our kitchen area where we spend a lot of time. Now purchased this Sonos Play 1 for our master bathroom so we can listen music, news, and sports radio when in the bathroom. Perfect and easy to control and/or sync via the phone app.

Easy surround sound speakers for Sonos
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought these as rear surround sound speakers to go with our Sonos Playbar. We have Sonos for years and love the ability to play our personal music collection or to stream Spotify anywhere we place a speaker. As with other Sonos components, the 2 Play:1 speakers were easy to set up. The sound can be subtle at times, calling into question if they are even working, but that may be either our placement (on a shelf about 8 foot high and 10 feet behind the sofa) and what audio message for some television. Since they are set up as surround sound speakers, they are not identified as separate speakers in Sonos - if we're playing music, they tethered to the Playbar and won't play by themselves.

Love my new Sonos!

Surprising to say the least
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your thinking of moving to Sonos, start with one (or two) of these babies. They sound fantastic for having such a small foot print. One will give you that. The reason I say "or two" is that having two will take you more closely into the "realm" of what this system affords you. A whole new way to listen to music! Just do it!

surprisingly good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't expect such good sound from such a small unit. We moved it from the kitchen to a section of the dining area/living room (apartment) and the sound did not get lost in the space. (disclaimer--you can't blast the sound in an apartment). Vast array of streaming choices and easy to set up. We also have one in the bedroom.

Blown away by the sound and usability
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already owned a SONOS sound bar, so I was fairly certain I would be happy with the SONOS 1 speaker. I was correct. This is a very good speaker with great sound. It integrates so well into a house wireless speaker system. The user interface on my phone and iPad is very easy to set up and use. Thoughtful and useful features. I love it.
