I bought the Play 5 as my first Sonos purchase, and absolutely loved it. Days later I found myself in the store purchasing two of these (Play 1 speakers) to add to my set. Within a week I ended up purchasing 2 of the Play 3 speakers as well as another Play 1, totaling my count to 6 speakers, (one Play 5, two Play 3s, and three Play 1 speakers!) At the start, I had 0 intention of buying so many speakers, especially because they seem pricey, however they are really priced well considering their features. The fact that they connect so easily to my home network, and the software is really easy to use, and I had no static or any issues with the wifi (they are crystal clear even at the loudest settings, and they stream instantly as if they are wired). Additionally, I was originally looking at Bose, but doing a side-by-side comparison in the store, I chose to invest in Sonos because I really didn't hear a difference, plus Sonos was less expensive, and the salesperson told me that the software interface is more user-friendly, which is great because I'm fairly tech-savvy but even the non-tech people in my family have been able to use this system with ease. At first, I thought it would be a set-back that you cannot stream via iTunes, or computer sounds, per say - you MUST use Sonos's app/program, therefore only songs loaded into Sonos's library can be played (as well as the multitude of free, actually extremely useful, streaming radio stations.) However, the program (for pc) and app operate very similarly to iTunes, so it's really intuitive to use. All I had to do is direct Sonos to my iTunes folder (or any other folder where your music is saved) and it saves it to it's library - it won't literally copy the files, so you don't need to worry about it taking up any extra space, it just looks in that directory. I have several wifi devices as well as computers and I can control all of the speakers from any of the devices (even multiple devices simultaneously) without any delay. I have a speaker in my basement, and the moment I click Play while being upstairs (2 stories up, but on the same network) it starts playing instantly, as if it were wired. Lastly, I added on a Seagate Central (NAS) hard drive to my network recently, and decided to move my music library to that wireless hard drive. I redirected Sonos to the folder on there and it works just as well as if it were on my computer - there's no difference...the actual benefit to this is that I don't need to leave a computer on to play from the Sonos. So now my set up can be easily controlled from a tablet, my phone, iPad, iPod touch...pretty much any device with Windows/Android/iOS without the need of accessing my PC. I have about 50 gbs of music and when adding to the Sonos app, it took about 5-10 minutes for it to load - but this is just an initial load to allow Sonos to read all of the album art, and build an index. From there everything else is instant. I tested it out by first only adding a few gigabytes and it took about 30 seconds to a minute to build the index - again this is only for the initial setup of the music directory. All in all I am thrilled with the entire Sonos speaker set, and definitely plan to add more in the near future because I have them all spread out throughout my house so that in times of a party, etc there is continuous flow of music and they are well hidden - at a mere fraction of the cost of what a piped-music system would cost! A final note I forgot to mention above is that all of the speakers can be controlled simultaneously as a group (where you can have them all set to the same volume, or even adjust each volume to different levels) or individually, simultaneously - meaning that from the app, I can play a different song on each speaker simultaneously - there's no sort of "log in" per speaker, each can be controlled on the fly. I definitely recommend any of the Sonos Play Speakers to everyone!

Sonos Play1 provides high quality sound in a size and weight small enough to be portable for use inside or out. In addition, the Play 1 is vapor resistant and can thus withstand a reasonable amount of moisture for use in a bathroom, for example. All of this makes it an economical choice providing affordability to either start a system or add to one.

These speakers are awesome! The Play1 is loud for such a small speaker, and sounds great in pretty much any room. You can also link two play 1's for stereo sounds which sound great. If you get the play bar you can use two play ones as a surround sound system. Very easy to setup, highly recommend these products! It's really nice not having to run wire to speakers through out your house to get sound in any room! Great for parties!

I already have a Sonos Connect connected to our home theater, but really wanted to be able to enjoy Sonos in other parts of the house. I purchased one of these Play 1 speakers and have been happy with the purchase. The size of the speaker is good and the sound quality is great. The speaker puts out a decent amount of bass and the highs are pretty clear. I definitely plan to add a few more of these around the house!

Excellent sound. App for it works great. Easy to set-up and synch with other Sonos speakers. Sonos 1 doesn't take much space so it's perfect for the kitchen, bathrooms or anywhere where counter space is a premium. Highly recommend this speaker.

I was back and forth between the Sonos and Bose speaker and very happy I went with Sonos. Great Sound, fast and easy set up with a great app to control it all. Just 1 week after this purchase I bought a Sonos 3 and plan on purchasing more for other parts of the house. Also recommended the 5.1 surround sound setup to a friend who absolutely loves it.

I read the reviews and then had a friend recommend the Sonos speakers to me. I was glad he did. It was very simple to set up and the sound is fantastic. I am listening to them all the time now. If you are looking for wireless speakers for your house, look no further. Buy Sonos and enjoy. I wish everything delivered as promised the way my new speakers have.

This was bought to expand my Sonos system into other rooms. The Sonos speakers sound great. I now have them in almost every room. As impressive as the sound is the interface. The app works great. You can group all speakers to play the same music in every room, or each speaker can play something different. It makes for a nice whole home sound system.

This is by far one of the best small scale speakers i’ve heard. The bass low end is poweful and completely adjustable to taste which is helpful living in an apartment. The high ends are clear and not tinny. I haven’t tested this at full volume though. The unique design has sound all around the speaker. The only slight negatives are that the speaker has to remain plugged in to a power outlet at all times so its not a portable speaker. And it does not connect through bluetooth, only WIFI. I recently started having choppy connections with my bluetooth devices so in this instance, at least for me only wifi connectivty is a plus since it never has trouble with connections. Worth the price.

Don't let the small size fool you. We have several Sonos products in our home and we purchased the Play:1 to add in a kid's bedroom. The music is crisp and clear and there is good full sound, despite the size. Plus, setup is easy and control via your phone/tablet is great. We stream music from Spotify through the system and it works great.

Tiny little speaker makes some very impressive sound. Quality is fantastic with surprisingly deep rich bass for such a tony little guy. The setup is quick and has great instruction, sound is fantastic, and look is great. Very satisfied and highly recommend!

I was skeptical about the sound quality from one speaker but it has surprisingly great sound. More bass than anticipated. Simple controls, on off volume up/down. it would have been nice if it had a button to jump to the next song, but that is why they have the app. Easy to set up. Plug in and sync. Overall a great product.

I have had a Sonos system now for four years and I love the sound. The Play 1 is the main staple of my system as it is flexible, fits in many areas, looks good. For the sale price purchasing another was a no brainer. I have added it to my work room. This system is so easy to set up.

Quite easy setup and sound quality is decent for a small speaker. The downloaded software works good with all of my devices (multiple MS Surface Pros, a desktop pc, multiple android phones). I have both my music and my wife's (90Gb+ in two files) on a NAS and play from that with this speaker controlled from any of the devices mentioned, works flawlessly. I don't use any of the online music services so I can't offer an opinion on that. This replaced a Bose Bluetooth speaker and is much easier to connect to and control with multiple devices. The only downside is I am now considering adding additional speakers in different rooms.

I have owned other wireless speakers in the past and had issues with connectivity and consistent streaming signal. This is my second Sonos speaker, I also have owned a Play 3 for about a year, and they both perform perfectly. I have used them in all areas of a large 2 story house and in the basement with absolutely zero signal degradation or pausing/buffering. Pairing works perfectly and gives you the option to adjust the volume for each speaker or both at the same time if you choose. They sound great for their size and are fully adjustable through treble, bass, and equalizer control in the app. If there was one thing I could wish for, it would be for the app to allow the volume buttons on the iPhone, iPad, and keyboard to adjust the volume as on some other speakers/apps.

This is my second Sonos product buy. As with the first, the Sonos Play 1 is outstanding. Deep rich sound but not overwhelming. Just the right level for filling a room to create the right mood. Ridiculously easy set up. Sonos figured out that the key is to design ease of use with quality. Bingo.

I already own a complete Sonos surround sound set-up in my living room, but I was missing the sound quality in my other rooms, so I bought two of these to get wireless stereo sound in my bedroom. I read the online reviews, and what Consumer Reports had to say (they rate Sonos as currently NUMBER ONE and RECOMMENDED), and when the holiday discount prices started coming up, I knew I couldn't wait any longer. Pros: App control Music service selection Sound quality Ease of making a stereo pair great bass sound, without a sub Auto room sound tuning Turn the power lights off for better nights sleep Needs Improvement: No AirPlay capability Can't air Sonos One with Sonos Play:1 (WTF) No direct input, so only what you can control in the app can be played I now own six Sonos speakers, and will absolutely continue to buy them... they are fantastic if you love rich, deep sound.

The Sonos Wifi Stereo System has CHANGED my life. I LOVE MUSIC, music of all shapes and sizes, but MOST importantly CLEAR & CRISP music. It's a single device with an easy as pie set-up, that can be controlled from a desktop OR a mobile device and is pretty much a HUB for all your music services in one place. It's BRILLIANT. I'd take it hands down OVER ANY bluetooth device, b/c a) I can wander away as far as I want from the source and as long as the device is within wifi range, it stays connected to my Wifi Network, NOT my iPhone or iPad. THATS BRILLIANT. SO, gone are the days when the music at your home, office or gathering is interrupted by a text message, or a phone call, or even a dropout.. ITS AMAZING!!!!! I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!! ITS OUT-STANDING BAR NONE!

We were instantly impressed with our speakers. They were easy to set-up and sounds great. We have the sub/bar and two Play:1 speakers. Transitioning between surround, this speaker, that speaker, etc., is VERY easy. We are very happy with our decision to invest in a Sonos system.

This was an add on to an existing Sonos system. We had the bridge and a connect amp, so basically this was a plug and play for another level of our home. It is great. Very nice sound in a nicely compact speaker. The set up was very easy and the pairing of the two systems, flawless.
