Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Play:5 Wireless Speaker's superb sound quality, ease of use, and strong bass. Many also appreciate its straightforward setup and attractive design, although some find the price to be high. A few users noted the speaker's weight and some compatibility issues with certain devices. Overall, the positive feedback on audio performance outweighs the negative comments regarding cost and compatibility.

Bought this speaker to go with my existing Sonos system and it hooked up seamlessly. More bass than the smaller speakers and sounds great! I used it for an outdoor party and it was amazing!

Initially heard the sound system in a friends shop in which he had two play 1's going. I asked him when he got the Bose system as I'm very familiar with the Bose sound with deep base and clear clarity. That's when he told me it wasn't Bose but Sonos. I never heard of the Sonos system and went to my local Best Buy to inquire. There they had the complete system and well let's say I walked out of the store with two play 1's for my office, the complete home surround system, and a play 5 for my outdoor deck. Unfortunately my Bose system is sitting in storage...that should tell you how good the Sonos system is. Absolutely love the wireless connectivity and sound quality.....

I already had two number 3 speakers in the house and decided to buy a number 5 for the basement. Speakers are easy to set up, it takes only a few minutes, and the sound is remarkable.

These speakers are a little harsh to my ear...causing me to suffer listener fatigue. I turned off the loudness and turned down the bass and treble so I could turn the volume up (as suggested by the Best Buy sales guy). Still a little harsh, but better. The play 1s and sub are better

I have the play 1 and the play 3. The play 5 is biggest and the best. The music is very clear with magnificent bass. The Sonos Play 5 is the best speaker I've ever purchsed.

I bought this to add to 2 older play 5 and a play 3. It sounds great and actually listening to the old play 5 compared to the new one, the new one sounds louder. I can't believe how much sound they get out of that little box. The only concern I have but not sure if it is my internet or the unit itself is sound cutout. While testing out the loudness of the unit, all of a sudden the sound cut off. then a few seconds later came back. it did this a couple of times but since then I have not turned it up as high so it has not done that. I will test it again when the wife is not home. other than that it sounds great. just wish it was a little bit cheaper.

Sonos is the way to go in your home period. My house is prewired for ceiling speakers throughout and has knobs on the walls for volume control. After extensive research I decided to do Sonos instead. Great decision I run the entire house from the Sonos App. You can connect all your favorite music. ETC I linked I heart Radio, XM Radio, Amazon Prime Music and much more. The App is super easy to set speakers all over the house and group them. The Sub and sound bar are amazing quality. I even purchased the connect for my regular stereo system making is Sonos too. For outside I purchased the connect with built in AMP to run outdoor speakers. AMAZING PEORID.

I had version 1 and version 2 is much better. Slicker design, much deeper bass and I ended up buying another one to make a pair. Together they sound incredible! Highly recommended.

I started off with 2 sonos play 1's and loved the product. I later purchased this Play 5 and now love it even more. It is worth the big price tag! Sounds great and really fills the room.

This is our 4th speaker and we are blown away by the sound quality. Setup is very easy. We have the Sonos app on android, iOS, and Windows systems and it is easy to use on all of them.

Good all around speaker. Can be as loud or as mellow as you want in a room with maintaining full sound. Might be overkill for a bedroom- especially a smaller room.

The Play:5 is an amazing speaker. It provides a nice amount of bass and clean, crisp sound overall. We purchased it as a "satellite" speaker of sorts for my office. Best decision ever.

After reading several reviews from a number of sources, I was very interested in this product. Essentially, the wireless premise is exactly the direction I wanted to go. I was hesitant to purchase it because I was not sold after listening to the in- store demo of th the Play 5. It was only after speaking with several of the Best buy reps who all said the personally owned at least one and assured me that I would not be disappointed, I took the chance on buying one. What a difference in performance at home compared to the in-store demo. So much of a difference, I now own two Play 5's a and can finish planning the rest of my whole house music system.

Extremely loud, sound does not get distorted at high volume. I play all kinds of music, great speaker. Play 5 in the living room and play 1s in smaller rooms work great together.

The speaker is so worth it. You can hear every little sound coming out of it. But I did consider returning the speaker because of how limited the app is. You can only play music wirelessly through your phone and only through the sonos app and it can only play music. If you watch a youtube video then it doesn't play the audio through the speakers. The only way to do that is by connecting the speaker to an aux cable. You can't play music wirelessly through your computer even though you can download the app on your computer. When you set your alarm, it only allows you to use music from your music apps. It doesn't let you use music that is on your phone. You can't use the sonos trueplay unless you have an iphone or ipod or ipad. When I bought the speaker, I expected it to be able to connect to my TV's audio but you can only do that with the sonos playbar. I should rate the speakers with 3 stars because of how limited the app is but the sound quality of the speakers are good enough that I bumped it up to 4 stars.
