We're truly sorry to hear that your experience with the Sonos Ray has not met your expectations. We understand that both sound quality and the app are crucial aspects of your enjoyment, and it's disappointing to hear that you’ve had issues with both.

To help improve the sound experience, we recommend checking the following:

Sound Settings: Explore the sound options in the Sonos app, like adjusting bass, treble, or using the Trueplay tuning feature to optimize your sound based on your room’s acoustics.

Regarding the app, we recognize that it can sometimes feel cumbersome, and we are constantly working to improve it. If you're experiencing specific issues, we'd love to hear more about them so we can assist you further.

Your feedback is valuable, and we apologize for the inconvenience you've faced. Please don’t hesitate to contact our support team at support.sonos.com for any further assistance or troubleshooting. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. john.milton

Thank you for your feedback, and we are truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with the Sonos Ray. A soundbar should enhance your entertainment experience, not cause frustration, and we regret that this was not the case for you.

The issues you described, such as audio syncing and eventual failure, are not typical of our products and suggest a technical problem. If you're open to troubleshooting, please contact our support team directly at support.sonos.com and we can assist further, including exploring warranty options.

We value your feedback and are committed to improving your Sonos experience. Thank you for giving us the chance to make this right. john.milton

I was excited and the SONOS Ray felt very short of my expectations. I was replacing a Samsung sound bar so did a before and after test. The 2 year old sound bar was bette and much cheaper. I returned the Ray and purchased the Beam. Much happy!

If you are looking for bells and whistles, look at a higher price range. This is a very basic sound bar that sounds extremely good. It has all the options needed for streaming over Wi-Fi or optical from TV. There is also an ethernet port on the back. Your connection options are very limited. There is no Bluetooth, so the initial setup is done over Wi-Fi. I would highly recommend checking for updates immediately, the process is much smoother after the first update. You get access to the Sonos Radio, along with streaming whatever you like over Wi-Fi. When connected to the TV the install instructs you to turn off the internal speakers on the TV, it does not look like there is a way to sync audio to the internal TV speaker timing. Using the digital audio input the sound is fantastic. You will only get the forward sound, but the speaker has no problem filling the room with your chosen audio. There are two woofers and two tweeters based on the specs. This speaker is fantastic for a small apartment or a game/family room. I can see people using this as a speaker only as it sounds so good. Sonos has hit another home run. The size of the speaker is about 22 inches at the front and 20 inches at the back. The top controls are centered. I figure this is good to know if you plan on sliding it into a opening under the TV. It is a little more that 2 3/4 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches tall at the back. Roughly 3 3/4 inches deep.

I'm sorry to hear that you've had such a frustrating experience with your Sonos Ray. Let's try to resolve the issues you're facing with a few troubleshooting steps. If these don't work, it may be worth considering contacting Sonos support for further assistance or a potential replacement.

Troubleshooting Steps for Sonos Ray Setup
      Check Connections

Ensure that all cables are securely connected, including the power cable and the connection to your TV.
Make sure your TV is set to use the correct audio output (optical or HDMI ARC) that the Sonos Ray is connected to.
      Use the Sonos App

Open the Sonos app on your smartphone or tablet.
Ensure the app is up-to-date by checking for updates in your app store.
Follow the in-app instructions for setting up a new device. This usually involves adding a new speaker to your system and following the prompts.
      Network and Wi-Fi

Ensure that your Sonos Ray is within range of your Wi-Fi network and that the network is functioning properly.
Try rebooting your router and ensuring that it supports 2.4 GHz, which Sonos products often require.
      Factory Reset

If you haven't tried this yet, performing a factory reset might help. To reset the Sonos Ray:
Unplug the power cord from the Sonos Ray.
Press and hold the Join button (∞) while plugging the power cord back in.
Continue holding the button until the light flashes orange and white.
      Compatibility Check

Ensure that your TV is compatible with the Sonos Ray. Some older TV models might have compatibility issues.
      If Troubleshooting Fails
If these steps don't resolve the issue, here are a few additional options:

Contact Sonos Support: Reach out to Sonos support for assistance. Provide them with detailed information about the steps you've taken so far.

I'm really sorry for the inconvenience you've faced. Your feedback is valuable, and I hope this helps you get your Sonos Ray working. john.milton

      Hi there,

I understand you were disappointed with the sound quality of the Ray and felt it didn't justify the price. It's important to us that you have a positive Sonos experience. Here's what we can do:

      Troubleshooting:

Placement: Speaker placement can drastically affect sound. Is the Ray on a shelf or enclosed space? Experiment with placement for potential improvement.
Room Acoustics: Room size and materials impact sound. Could you describe your room's setup?
Sound Settings: Explore the EQ settings (bass, treble) in the Sonos app for adjustments to your liking.

      Alternatives:

If you're seeking a more robust sound experience, we might discuss upgrading to the Beam or Arc for a noticeable difference. john.milton
