Not Compatable with RF tv remotes

I have several other Sonos products in my house and I have been very pleased. However, this scaled down, entry level soundbar lacks most of the characteristics that make Sonos great. The biggest flaw is that it does not use HDMI inputs so is not compatable with newer tv remote technology. So, you might be left with having zero remote volume function. That is simply unacceptable.

I truly wanted to like it, however, there is no bass and the sound quality does not compare to even the small sonos one. I ended up returning it and purchased the Beam 2. As soon as I connected beam 2, you could tell the difference. If tou cant afford the beam 2 speaker, I suggest buying the Sonos one instead, it sounds much better than Ray.

Posted .Thank you very much for this review! We are sorry you didn't like your Sonos Ray, but are excited for you to listen on the Sonos Beam. We did just want to jump in and mention that Sonos One is not meant for TV listening unless it's grouped with one of our soundbars or bonded as surround sounds. Ray is our smallest speaker for the television, whilst One is really designed for music. - thanks again!

Posted .Hi Nick, thank you for your review. The Sonos Ray can be controlled by any IR remote you may have. Though you can control it with your phone, you dont have to if you have an IR remote like a TV, cable, streaming box remote.
