    Set Up Issues

When setting up the soundbar, the app gets to the point where you need to set up your TV remote. When trying to set that up, that app consistently fails. Called customer service and they let me know it’s a known issue and there is no fix. IR remotes can not be paired currently, and you would have to use the app or buttons to change volumn. All I was told is “engineering is working on it”. So be prepared to pay a premium price and an essentially unusable product. Other users are reporting similar problems lately, looking at other . So for now, look elsewhere. Silver lining is you can get sound out of it.

Not so - Ray- Sonos for Wi-Fi...

I have to say i was bummed out... was super excited to have the Sonos just to experience frustration. The connectivity was quick and simple, following the set-up instructions. But from mobile device, to remote. The Wi-Fi could never stay consistent with picture. (delayed or un-synced) Called support, reboot, new cables, uninstalled and re-installed, back and forth/up and down. Returned after a few months of trying without success. Maybe with another TV set-up, but our Vizio said nope!

Now that I have the Sonos soundbar my two other Sonos speakers sound even more complete. I now can use my “system” with my television or with music videos. The sound is truly remarkable. Surround sound at its very best! And no wiring! :)

Horrible Sound Quality! Bought only because I have a full sonos set up in my living room and this was for my basement. The unit I had before was louder than this ever god and included a remote so I didn't need to use my phone since the tv I was using it on, the remote was incompatible

Pretty underwhelming at this price point. I would not recommend this if you plan to use it in any room larger than 12x12. The sound quality is ok but the volume is so weak.

Sonos Ray is not compatible with a Samsung - 65” Class S95B OLED 4K Smart Tizen TV. Cannot control volume with the TV remote. New TV and Sonos Ray delivered and set-up by Best Buy Techs

    Incompatible with late-model LG television

I bought the Ray to use with LG's latest 43-inch TV, in the UR9000 series. It seemed a decent pairing for use in an RV that couldn't fit anything much larger. However, I ran into a huge problem. The Ray has no method of integrating such that the LG magic remote can control the volume. Since the Ray lacks any sort of HDMI input, you're left with an optical connection only. Sonos' documentation (which their tech support kindly quoted when I reached out to them) alludes to the notion that there will be some sort of menu in LG's WebOS settings that will let you select a soundbar manufacturer, and that Sonos will be on that list, and that will fix the problem. That would be wrong. There's no such list in the current LG system. There's an on-off switch for an LG soundbar control protocol, which apparently LG feels Sonos should be supporting, but Sonos doesn't seem to have heard about this. The Ray went back to the store, an LG soundbar with a subwoofer came home, for a little less money. The LG does take up more space, but obviously it does work with the magic remote, and it sounds a whole lot better than the Ray did.

Love this soundbar. We also have the Sonos Beam, which was more expensive, but for our purposes (tv, music), I can’t tell a difference. I like the Sonos app and find their products easy to connect and use with the app.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Sonos Ray. We are truly sorry to hear that you found the setup process to be challenging. It’s disappointing when a product that delivers great sound doesn’t meet expectations during installation, and we completely understand your frustration. Thank you for giving the Sonos Ray a try, and we hope to serve you better in the future! john.milton

Purchased Sonos Ray in white for reception office area. Could not connect Sonos Ray to WiFi routers (tried 2 different routers). The Sonos app is dreadful, would not load after putting the app on different phones and signing in. The Sonos "how to setup" video makes it seem simple to set up (and it should be) but this was not the case for me. Wasted two hours of my life I cant get back. I've returned it to Best Buy (they make returns simple and are great) and will be looking for a different brand of sound bar from them. As cool as the item seemed, I cannot recommend SONOS after my experience.

Not sure if it was me or the product. But not having a remote was a issue. Having to go to the app on my phone was a issue and I didn't like the sound. I wanted more. More sound and more control.

Don’t do much reviews but I had to on this one. Sonos made a good product with this one. Easy to set up and app is very simple to navigate thru. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a sound bar for their TV.
