Incompatible with late-model LG television
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Ray to use with LG's latest 43-inch TV, in the UR9000 series. It seemed a decent pairing for use in an RV that couldn't fit anything much larger. However, I ran into a huge problem. The Ray has no method of integrating such that the LG magic remote can control the volume. Since the Ray lacks any sort of HDMI input, you're left with an optical connection only. Sonos' documentation (which their tech support kindly quoted when I reached out to them) alludes to the notion that there will be some sort of menu in LG's WebOS settings that will let you select a soundbar manufacturer, and that Sonos will be on that list, and that will fix the problem. That would be wrong. There's no such list in the current LG system. There's an on-off switch for an LG soundbar control protocol, which apparently LG feels Sonos should be supporting, but Sonos doesn't seem to have heard about this. The Ray went back to the store, an LG soundbar with a subwoofer came home, for a little less money. The LG does take up more space, but obviously it does work with the magic remote, and it sounds a whole lot better than the Ray did.

So so Sonos
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure if it was me or the product. But not having a remote was a issue. Having to go to the app on my phone was a issue and I didn't like the sound. I wanted more. More sound and more control.

Love Sonos Ray
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this soundbar. We also have the Sonos Beam, which was more expensive, but for our purposes (tv, music), I can’t tell a difference. I like the Sonos app and find their products easy to connect and use with the app.

Posted .Hi there Donald,
I understand you're having trouble controlling your TV's volume using your Ray soundbar connected via an optical cable. Let's troubleshoot this together! Here are some steps:
Verify TV Settings:
Make sure your TV's audio output is set to "Optical" or "Digital Out".
Check if your TV has an option called "External Speakers" or something similar, and ensure it is enabled.
Check Sonos App:
Open the Sonos app, go to Settings -> System -> [Your Room Name] -> Home Theater -> Remote Control Setup.
Confirm your TV remote is configured correctly. If not, follow the in-app instructions.
Additional Tips:
Try restarting both your TV and the Ray by unplugging them for a few minutes and plugging them back in.
Ensure the optical cable is securely connected on both ends.

Sound Bar
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound bar works great. The cording is so sensitive and falls out every time you move it or adjust where it's at. Definitely needs better design for the cord attachments.

||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can’t be controlled with the tv remote. I can only control it with my phone which sucks for anyone else wanting to use it when I’m not around. I would have returned it but waited to long so now I’m stuck with a speaker I can’t use
