It can be a little difficult for others to play their music on this device. Works very well for my bluetooth devices though.

I have an entire Sonos home theater system in my truck, so naturally when I wanted a portable Bluetooth speaker I went towards the Sonos roam. I was very disappointed in the sound quality. Even using the app and turning up the bass it still sounded “noisy“ no matter what I did I could not get it to sound decent. The bass was lacking, and it became garbled at higher volumes. I don’t like the shape of the speaker and I don’t like that the control buttons are on the side.. I returned it and purchased the Bose sound link flex. I’m much happier with the Bose. But I’m definitely keeping the Sonos home theater system Lol

Highly recommend. Sound is great and the speaker is small and unassuming. Was gonna buy a cheaper jbl but glad I spent the extra money definitely worth it . Fills the whole room and more

It is perfect for my workspace at work, but at home it does not give enough volume for a single room.

I love all my Sonos products and this was the perfect addition to my collection. Love the Sonos platform and the ability to play something different in each room or party mode where all speakers are synced.

Great service with choice, purchase and delivery. The ease of connection and add in to other new purchase of Sonos Soundbar was much better than our Bose experience.

Overall this is a great little speaker that works seamlessly with my Sonos system. My only gripe is it that it does not get loud enough. Otherwise, if you have a Sonos speaker and nead portability, it’s a solid purchase.

This speaker packs a real punch in a small package. I was genuinely surprised how loud this speaker got. Its very similar volume wise to a Sonos One.

I purchased a new Sonos Roam SL. I followed the instructions to connect to the Sonos application, but it got stuck just after it identified the Roam SL and made a failed attempt to connect to it. After several attempts, I looked up the Sonos community blog and found out that this device is no longer supported by the Sonos application. I returned it to Best Buy immediately and purchased a Bose portable speaker instead.

Best buy is misleading/ poor customer service

Best Buy gives misleading information. They do not check to make sure the open box products work! I bought this speaker and it was listed as Open Box and fell in the excellent category. On the website it said it had been checked and worked. It did not work. Customer service was horrible about standing behind their product. I even had bought the geek squad warranty. They would not replace this speaker that did not work, it wouldn't connect to the Sonos app and wouldn't hold a charge. They said I could return it. But would not offer me another speaker at a comproble price. I bought this as a present for someone else and missed out on other sales of this speaker going on at other places. I trusted what they implied in that they check their product before reselling it. They do not! Be weary of buying any open box product. They are not truthful when they say they make sure the product works.

The Roam SL is a great addition to your existing Sonos setup. If you already have any other Sonos gear, the Roam SL lets you add another zone inside or outside your home with no wires at all. It's also very water resistant which means you don't have to worry about it betting rained on or splashed. It's far more water resistant than most other speakers that claim to be ready for outdoor action. The Roam is good to be submersed in 3 feet of water for 30 minutes without damage. Where to start... Sound quality is amazing especially considering that the speaker is about the size of a 16-ounce beer can. Battery life is fantastic, I am getting 8 hours or more at 50% volume. It's never actually run out of juice for me, so I don't know how long it will absolutely last. Easy setup - if you already have a Sonos account all you have to do to set it up is turn it on and run the app on your phone. The speaker automatically shows up and the app walks you through setup. Took me literally less than 5 minutes. Besides this Roam SL, I also have a Roam. The difference is that the Roam has built-in smarts and can be controlled by Amazon Alexa or Google Home. The Roam and Roam SL can be configured as a stereo pair and Alexa will control them both in that case. That is what I do sometimes, the stereo pair sounds great and really expands the sound. I use my Roam pair outside on my deck and by my pool, and also use them inside my house in my dining room where they sit unobtrusively and where there is no convenient electrical outlet to use something like a Sonos One that needs to be plugged in or a Move which is portable but quite large. Overall, I really love the Roam and Roam SL. I also really love Sonos equipment. This Roam SL is the 12th Sonos device I've added to my home. It all sounds great, and it all "just works". Can't recommend it enough.

Sound performance is average at best, it sounds very processed and unnatural, nor does it have any redeeming qualities e.g bass, spaciousness etc. I returned mine fairly quickly.

Power and Sound issues. Only powered on when plugged in. Had them plugged in for over 48 hours. Purchased two. Had to return them. Even customer service couldn’t help me get sound and I am pretty tech savvy. I already did all the troubleshooting steps they walked me through multiple times and it didn’t work. Ultimately they were asking me about what charger I am using to charge them, amps and wattage etc. A regular Type C cord and plug that I use for ALL my Type C devices since they did not come with any charger, just a type C cord. Plus I could hardly understand the tech, assistant, or whatever their title is. So didn’t need the frustration.

I have bunches of Sonos speakers at my house and business -- all work on the legacy S1 and S2 apps and were easy to set up and high quality. This SL Roam requires the new app and it is completely unworkable. I've had multiple different errors setting it up. Customer service was worthless (at Sonos, not Best Buy). Highly disappointed.

Roam SL currently operates on the S2 app. The app may look different as we have recently updated the interface. If you're having difficulties connecting, try the following:

Update the App: Ensure you have the latest version of the Sonos app installed on your device. Updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements.

Clear Cache: If you’re experiencing errors, try clearing the cache of the Sonos app on your device. Sometimes, outdated or corrupt cache data can cause issues.

Reboot Devices: Restart your phone or tablet, as well as your router, before trying to set up the Roam SL again. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Check Compatibility: Verify that your Roam SL is compatible with the latest Sonos app and check for any specific setup instructions related to the Roam SL model.

Factory Reset: Perform a factory reset on the Roam SL. This can help if there’s a problem with the initial setup or if the device isn’t behaving as expected. To reset, press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds until the LED flashes orange and then white.

Sonos Support: If the new app is causing issues, contact Sonos support @ support.sonos.com again and ask for escalation to a higher tier of support. Sometimes, additional assistance is needed to resolve complex issues.

      I hope this helps! john.milton
