Bought an open box “Excellent” Roam SL that was doa upon arrival. Don’t trust open box electronics, they were returned for a reason.

Does not work for your Sonos Surround-sound.

Probably a great little speaker but didn't work for what I needed it for. I bought for surround sound and was told that they would work great by the best buy employee. I waited for a week to get in and was so excited, but they didn't work for surround-sound. I had to return them and get a more expensive speaker.

    Another Fantastic Sonos Speaker

Here is another fantastic speaker from Sonos. They have a knack for getting a much larger sound than should be possible for the speaker size. The Roam SL is no exception. The convenience and power of this little guy is a great combo. Owning several Sonos products, and some from others, I can say this speaker packs a big sound for its size. The sound is crisp and clean with excellent bass, considering the small form factor. It is a great speaker to take with you when you travel. I work from home and the office, so it is perfect for my situation. I also like the magnetic charging base (sold separately for $49). The Roam SL snaps into it, much like a MagSafe device, and charges while you listen. I leave the base at home and take the speaker to the office when I go. I easily get an entire workday of battery life - I don't listen all day. The Roam SL integrates well with all my other Sonos speakers and the Sonos app. The speaker connects via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. I much prefer Wi-Fi if I can use it but Bluetooth works if you are on the go. The Wi-Fi connection is so much better than Bluetooth overall though. With Wi-Fi, you don't fight connections like Bluetooth. The speaker has some heft to it. It has to be stout to get that big sound out of the little speaker. The buttons push easily. The speaker can stand upright or lie down without blocking sound. Sonos just makes it easy!

After a huge FedEx fiasco... this finally arrived... DEAD. Orange light of death as other reviewers are saying. Also, they said it supports Bluetooth... it doesn't without Wi-Fi. What's the point of supporting Bluetooth if you need Wi-Fi at all?

I love this Sonos Roam SL Portable Speaker. It is a powerful speaker for its size and provides a very clear sound when playing it. I love that it fits in purse, glove compartment in my car, the compartment on my atv and suitcase because i can take it wherever i go to use it. We live using it while we are atv riding because its the perfect size and easy to bring along with us to listen to some good music. It is easy to use and easy to connect to our devices. I love how it comes with a little dust bag so that i can keep it in when we arent using it to protect it from scratches. This bluetooth speaker only works with the app and iphone, ipad, and apple pods so if you have an android this will not work for you. The app and bluetooth speaker are easy to set up and work with. Overall this is a great speaker for on the go or even hanging out outside at home that has great sound that you can hear clearly without static or any other noises. It has 3 buttons on the side for play and pause and to put your sound lower or higher.

    Great speaker - poor app

I've owned a lot of bluetooth speakers throughout the years. Pound-for-pound, this Sonos speaker has the best quality of any speaker I've ever owned. The design is elegant and the wireless charging unit is simple and unobtrusive. Pairing the unit to my phone was easy. My biggest issue with Sonos is not with the quality of this speaker but how (and why) they force customers to use the Sonos app to play music/audio through the device. I want to be able to use my iTunes app to find music, play music, change music, get information about the artist and much more. I don't want to use the Sonos app to control my music. The Sonos app and user experience is poor compared to the iTunes app and interface. Why does Sonos think their app should stand between their speaker customers and the preferred music provider of their choice. They make a great speaker but they don't make a good app. In speaking to other Sonos owners, they all have the same issue. I believe Sonos should rethink how they force their customers to use their app. To be clear, this is a great speaker and if you don't have a problem using the Sonos app to control your music, I highly recommend this speaker.
