Customers are saying

Customers admire the Roam Smart Portable Speaker's amazing sound quality, portability, and surprisingly big sound for its small size. Many appreciate its ease of setup and Bluetooth connectivity, along with its water resistance for use in various settings. However, some users point to inconsistent battery life and occasionally low volume as drawbacks. A few also mention challenges with charging and the power button.

Nice addition to my two SONO 1's and Beam 2 Soundbar. Like the addition of Wi Fi. It could have provided a few more instructions on how each control button worked. Kind of had to figure that out by going to You tube or trial and error.

Great little smart speaker just wish it could pair to a subwoofer to get a little more bass and is hard to connect to wifi when traveling, hotel wifi etc but overall pretty solid little speaker

    Not Worth It

I had high hopes for this product as three of the rooms in my house have Sonos home theater surround systems. Connecting the device to the wifi or bluetooth was simple, as to be expected with the Sonos brand. The sound quality was decent on low or medium, but once it was turned up over 50% the mid range and lows disappear. I guess you really can't expect too much from it with how small it is. I was just hoping for a better product.

Unfortunately this item never made it to me; the USPS had it traveling around the DC beltway for over 10 days. I had Best Buy issue me a credit for this. I purchased elsewhere. I reviewed the white version, so I am assuming everything is the same.

I like it. The only downside is how quickly the battery drains when it’s not in use.

This is a great Bluetooth speaker. My only issue is that it drops the Wi-Fi connection from time to time while listening to music.

I had no idea this unit wasn't going to integrate with my other sonos speakers. I have been frustrated over the past year with it not connecting and/or disconnecting. It is not worth the time and a waste of money. The other Sonos speakers work just fine though.

This speaker is great I have sonos products all around my house. What is the best feature is the bluetooth compatibility before sonos products would only work through wifi. Now they allow bluetooth and sonos products always sound amazing

Unfortunately, I had to return this item. I was so looking forward to having this mobile speaker to utilize in multiple places throughout our home but it would not hold a charge. I was constantly charging it, probably would get 3 or more songs before it required re-charging. Looking forward to SONOS to update/upgrade this deficiency.

We're very sorry for the inconvenience. We recommend making sure that you're using a 7.5w charging brick to charge it. An example of this would be an iPad charger. Also, when you're not using it, hold the power button on the back for 5 seconds to turn it off completely. If you let it just fall asleep or press the power button briefly it will go to into a low power mode which potentially could turn the player on without you realizing it. Feel free to head over to sonos.com/support to reach out to us however you prefer if you have anymore questions or need anything else regarding your Sonos. john.milton

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to write a review! Here are a few tips to help preserve Roam's battery life: make sure you are powering down when not in use (hold power button full 5 seconds), disable any voice assistants when not plugged in, and ensure that you are charging with a 7.5W or higher charger. If you have tried these methods and are still experiencing issues, please reach out to our support team and they can help: support.sonos.com john.milton

Sonos is an amazing product brand, however I painfully must say this item doesn’t live up to my expectations, especially when of course this is down to me just wanting my music to be loud and thumping bumping crisp rhythms.

Well it’s a well built speaker that will likely work for some. I bought this to have a portable speaker around the house, but sync issues using Apple Airplay2 are so bad it’s hard to justify. Called Sonos and for some unknown reason they think this is Apple’s issue. How hard would it be to have a simple command to adjust the timing so it works like you promise.

Had so much trouble trying to get them sync and use for an out door movie. Tried for seven hours to get four of them to sync and couldn’t do it. By themselves I’m sure they’re fine, but wouldn’t buy again because of the experience.

Sonos Not Providing a Charger is Bad

The sound is incredible. The fact that it doesn’t come with a charger that can fully charge it is embarrassing for a $200 product. I cannot recommend the speaker when they are going to be that cheap. I am not trying to find a charger that works well enough.
