It's constantly offline or completely disconnecting. I've read through many Q and A's to troubleshoot and I can get it working, but I wish I had just tried a different Sonos speaker.

It doesn’t mesh well with Sonos 1st gen app and between my 8 speakers I would need to upgrade my 3s and 5s so they can all use the same app. A JBL would be better for the money IMO

The bluetooth feature also does not work and will be returned to Best Buy after pre-ordering and waiting for 30+ days. Disappointed with Sonos and their support of S1/S2 systems and users.

Posted .Hi, and thank you for taking the time to review the Sonos Roam. When S2 was launched over a year ago, we announced that all future products going forward will be only S2 compatible. This included Sonos Roam, and every other product we make going forward. We still support our S1 platform for security patches and bug fixes, but unfortunately, we had to move on as the older hardware and software limitations would have kept us from innovating. Sort of like expecting your phone from 16 years ago to run the software made for your newest phone.
If it's only been 8 years that you've been a Sonos customer (thank you so much for that) chances are probably all or at least most of the products you own are S2 compatible, and a simple update would fix that. Find out more info here: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/4786?language=en_US
As far as the bluetooth functionality, you just have to hold the button down for 3 seconds to put it into bluetooth pairing mode.
