    The rest of my Sonos system is fantastic. Arc, Sub and One SL all work great. The Roam is a piece of garbage. Doesn’t stay connected to the network with random drops. Has trouble reconnecting to the network and sometimes phases in and out where it will play one second of a song followed by two seconds of silence. All while the rest of my Sonos system is functioning just fine. In addition, being 4 days outside of Best Buy’s incredible narrow return window is equally frustrating.

    unit will not charge even with 10v connection. Not sure what to do.

    Not completely blown away. But awesome with the Sonos ecosystem. Button pressing is awkward and a bit complicated.

    I have heard good things about SONOS, so I decided to purchase a Roam to use as an external computer speaker. The problem is that SONOS has implemented several hurdles in order to use the speaker, including requiring a smart phone to operate the speaker, creating an account with SONOS, agreeing to mandatory data collection, constant precise location tracking and constant microphone recording and monitoring. This may be good for people that don't mind being pigeonholed into a single brand. But for the rest of us that use better sounding options, SONOS is not the way. I ended up returning the speaker and going with something simpler.

    Do not buy, this speaker has more cons than pros. Every time you plug it, it turns on by itself. When you connect it to air play, sometimes you can’t play anything even tho it says it’s connected. Battery it’s bad too, it will only last around 6 hours with a full charge.

    Returned this after two weeks. It was difficult to find the right power source to charge this to 100%. Sonos should include an A/C adapter if so many adapters aren't compatible. Once charged to 100%, it would lose 20% per night with the device powered off. Unacceptable. Not worth the cost.

Here are a few tips to help preserve Roam's battery life: make sure you are powering down when not in use (hold power button full 5 seconds), disable any voice assistants when not plugged in, and ensure that you are charging with a 7.5W or higher charger.       We recommend holding the power button for 5 seconds to make sure the Roam is completely turned off. If you don't do this, the Roam will go into standby mode, turning on without you noticing potentially which will drain the battery. Also, make sure you're using a charging brick with a minimum of a 7.5 watts. john.milton

    You have to download an app to get it to connect, which I found to be inconvenient. I returned it.

    works great if plugged in... i wouldn't really call this portable as it is virtually worthess if not fully charged. the batterey discharges quickly and takes a long time to charge, so this is not a device you want to take on vacation or out of your house for that matter.
