There's better options

The bass isn't that great and I've been contemplating returning them.

I own many Sonos products - sound bars, subs, play ones, move, play 3, etc. Bought the Sonos Roam while traveling and wishing I had music in the hotel room. Thought that the Roam would be the perfect addition to my home system, better than my Move for trips when I had to fly and great for trips. Turns out you can not connect to a Sonos Roam via Bluetooth until you have it setup on your home network. Meaning the product is worthless until you bring it home and set it up. Major flaw Sonos.

Posted .Hi, and thank you very much for taking the time to write this review. We understand this can be very frustrating. The reason for the need to set it up on wifi, is to ensure that the speaker has the proper software update. Our products have computers built into them, which makes them so versatile and relevant for years because of our updates to improve the experience over time. Unfortunately a side effect of this is needing to be updated out of the box. Other bluetooth speakers don't have computers. Therefore, what you get out of the box is what you'll get. It will never get better over time. We understand this can still be frustrating, but wanted you to know that this is not something we just looked over. Thanks again for reviewing Roam!

Way too complicated to set up. Not user friendly a

They were easy to pair together and update the software. They refused to pair with my iPhone 12 and play my music on my phone. A hour of the phone with a Sonos tech rep still has zero music. I'll play with them again this morning since I refuse to give in. If no luck this morning they are going back. If this is how Sonos products works I would never recommend. Keep it simple, they don't. I will update this later today but as far as I'm concerned they are garbage.

Lots of issues - I do not recommend the Roam

The Roam, however, is one of the worst products I’ve bought in a long time, and it’s not cheap. Mine often will not turn on, not connect, or it will freeze. At first I thought maybe it was just a one or two time thing, but no, it had issues about 95% of the time. I’ve now given up on it and am out a nice chunk of change. I would not recommend this product.

Please don’t waste your time or money purchasing this Sonos Roam. If you still decide to, make sure you buy a charger for it because it doesn’t come with one.

As the industry moves to reduce e-waste, a power adapter or a magnetic wireless charger are available as optional accessories. The included USB cord will charge Roam when connected to any household 7.5W or higher USB power adapter you already own (direct to wall USB outlet, through computer, etc). While Roam is compatible with any 7.5W (5V/1.5A) USB power adapter, we recommend using a 10W (5V/2A) or higher power adapter for a faster charge.

Posted .Hi, and thank you for your review. To make sure the unit is off hold the power button down for 5 seconds. It may appear off, but it is in standby mode which can turn the Roam back on by interacting with the app and cause the battery to drain faster.

Continuously Disconnects from wifi after a day

Added the Roam to my other Sonos speakers, beam etc but wouldn't stay connected. Even bought a Sonos Boost because after 4-5 speakers Sonos mentioned the Boost would help connectivity issues. The Boost doesn't work with the Roam. Sonos tried to help but they were unsuccessful keeping the Roam connected. Many of my hours wasted trying to resolve this issue!!!

Surprised, difficult to set up and so so sound!

So disappointed! I found it very difficult to set up into my existing system, all the other speakers were so easy. I called Sonos for assistance and was able to get it to work via bluetooth but was very disappointed with the sound. Returned!!

Faulty Speaker

I went through 3 of these trying to get one that would work. Wasted hours of my life trying to problem solve. Sounds like the issues I was experiencing are known for this particular speaker. I ended up getting a Bose speaker that was incredibly easy to set-up.

Roam elsewhere for a portable speaker

You'll be lucky to play more than 3 songs in a row without it disconnecting. My Roam is 3 feet away from my computer, 10 feet away from my router, and it is having constant connection issues. Never mind trying to play in my backyard. How I wish I could return it.
