Perfect with turntables and syncing Sonos system
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read a lot of differing bits of information regarding the Roam and syncing with turntables and/or your entire Sonos system. I am here to tell you, it works!! Powerful and small little speaker for general use and portability. However, I bought mine to act as a wireless “bridge” between my turntable and the Sonos system I have in other parts of my home. I had read SO many articles saying you need to spend $500-$650 on a Sonos Amp or Sonos Port to accomplish this. Nope! I have a turntable with Bluetooth capability. If you do not, you will need an inexpensive Bluetooth converter, but I am writing this review for those turntables where this feature is built in (on most turntables today and not an expensive feature). Plug in your Roam and set it up to connect to your WiFi (simple instructions are included to do this). Once it is connected to WiFi, push the Bluetooth button on your turntable. Enable Bluetooth on the Roam (simple button to push and also included in instructions). Your turntable will connect. Now you can play all your turntable music through the Roam. If you go into the Sonos app and group the Roam with ANY of your other Sonos speakers, you can hear the turntable music through all those speakers! Simple! Keep in mind this will not work with any portable speaker that is only Bluetooth (since your Sonos system is on wifi) and Sonos requires Sonos speakers to group.

Could Be Better
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good sound, but sometimes gets disconnected using bluetooth. When I use Alexa, it responds so loud that it is annoying even when the volume is low. Still needs some improvements.

You get what you pay for
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Obviously, coming from sonos, this speaker sounds amazing for its’ size. Some issues with airplay and grouping to my current sonos system but software issues are usually resolved with an update. Price is a bit high, but you aren’t going to find another portable speaker so feature heavy and with premium sound in this compact size. Also, I just realized sonos spelled backwards is sonos.

A little too small
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much smaller than I wanted. Has great sound but not the volume I was looking for. Also wanted WiFi. I bought the Sonos Home.

Work exactly as SONOS ADVERTISED
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The speakers are small, well made, portable, functional in how they can stood up or be placed on the side, and sound good for their size. Importantly, they're controlled with the app and mesh seamlessly with our other SONOS speakers in the house. We've used them inside, in the yard and taken them to the lake -- both wifi and bluetooth worked well. I would make the purchase again.

Listen to the Beat
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first, getting connected to iOS devices was a little tricky, but once connected, it let out great sound. Exactly what I'd been looking for for my small apartment.

Great way to add to or start your Sonos'ing
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a Sonos fan. I've moved a lot and a few years ago after running speaker cables and HDMI cords all over, under, and around another new place I decided I'd had enough. I donated all of my old stereo equipment and dove fully into the Sonos experience. I haven't looked back. It all just works seamlessly, the app is great, and I don't have cord clutter or really have to think about it. I couldn't recommend Sonos as a whole more. Now 1 Beam for the TV and 4 Ones placed around the house, I decided to try out the new Roam. I bought it thinking I would give it a test try and return it if I didn't like it or think it was worth the price. Well, like all Sonos products you do probably pay a few dollars more. But to me it's worth it. The Roam has been great and it, like everything else with Sonos, just works flawlessly. I particularly love how it just automatically switches from bluetooth to wifi connection without freaking out. I've had 2 Klipsch bluetooth portable speakers for many years and the manual and noisy pairing method is just annoying. The Roam just works and sounds great in a smaller room. It's been great at the beach and at parks this summer. I couldn't be happier. I haven't bought the charging dock yet. I have a dedicated cord for it and have been able to consistently plug it in to keep it charged up.

Great sounds, lousy battery
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This solves a problem for me in that I needed a small WiFi speaker where the S1 won’t fit. It’s a success in that regard. As for portability, battery stinks as others point out. It’s not even good for an afternoon, however, that’s not a problem for me as i can plug it in my backyard, which was the second app for it. Sound is superior to my UE and low end Bose A lot of bass for a tiny device. The setup is a bit obtuse as the app points you to press something or put your near phone near some NFC component that doesn’t seem to exist. By Sonos standards, the setup needs a lot more qa, however, after three tries it worked and It’s been fine, so long as it’s powered. Very expensive for what it is and unclear if it’s an e-spy or will stop listening with no assistants enabled.

Its not bad, but battery life is sub-par.
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We originally bought this speaker as a portable speaker to take camping and on other trips. However, the battery life is so bad on it that its basically pointless to take anywhere. It legitimately feels like we only get MAYBE 2 or 3 hours out of it before it dies. So it is now a home (quasi) portable speaker that we keep plugged in wherever we take it throughout the house so it doesn't die on us. Sound quality wise its just like all other Sonos products (which I have both the Sonos Beam and 2 of the satellite speakers). It sounds great and gets pretty loud. I recommend it but I wouldn't really call it all that portable due to battery issues. (It also can be a pain in the butt to connect to sometimes)

Sonos roam wherever you go!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly I was pleasantly surprised by the sonos roam! It is my 2nd portable Bluetooth speaker and the sound quality that comes outta this thing just pumps! All the features work well! Set up is a breeze, Bluetooth is great! It is a little expensive but definitely holds up it’s worth! Highly recommend giving the sonos roam a try if you’re interested in a portable speaker!

Great alone, wonderful as a pair
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a Roam for music in my office, and at about 50% volume it’ll fill a small to medium sized room. The music is clear and concise, it sounds especially good with pop, rock, electronic music. The base, however, is definitely lacking with a single Roam. But, to test out the stereo capabilities, I got a second Roam. I noticed a huge difference. By itself a single Roam can only push so much volume, but 2 they become something very different. The base really opens up with a stereo pair, and you get clear sound at any volume. Decent with one, really great as a pair. Note you can’t pair with 2 over Bluetooth, wifi only.

Great Sound, Poor battery life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As other people have already mentioned, the battery life is poor. My little Ontz speaker goes forever on a charge and will turn itself off after an extended period of non-use. It doesn't surprise me that the Roam uses more power since the sound is so much better. However, if you forget to turn it all the way off, it is likely it will be dead when you go to use it again in a day or two. This happens even if I only listened for an hour or two before letting it go into what appears to be a "stand-by" mode (I didn't turn it all the way off). Thus, if you plan to take backpacking or camping with no electricity to recharge, you may be disappointed. Otherwise is a great sounding speaker and except for the battery issue am happy with my purchase.

Not sure if I would purchase again
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this speaker after having an LG Bluetooth speaker that had decent sound. Was hoping for something with a more refined sound and a little smaller and therefore portable than the LG. The sonos roam is quite light and easy to transport around. Sound through the speaker js great. However if I listen to the speak two hours a week, it loses significant charge. I previously used the LG in the same fashion and charged only once a month. This is quite a disappointment as I have other Sonos products and expected more for this speaker. Additionally the sonos app can be cumbersome at times and hard to navigate.

Great Sound
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great speaker, especially so if you have the Sonos ecosystem in your home. Not Super loud but the sound quality is unbeatable. The only issue, which is prevalent among many Bluetooth speakers, is at times it can be a pain to connect.

Great speaker
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely wonderful. I like that you can plau direct from spotify over wifi and still have other sound come from your phone. Works well for when o watch youtube on my phone and have white noise on for my newborn. Only drawback is needing the app to set it up. Kind of a nuisance but the app isnt entirely useless.
