Customers are saying
Customers admire the Roam Smart Portable Speaker's amazing sound quality, portability, and surprisingly big sound for its small size. Many appreciate its ease of setup and Bluetooth connectivity, along with its water resistance for use in various settings. However, some users point to inconsistent battery life and occasionally low volume as drawbacks. A few also mention challenges with charging and the power button.

Okay at best. Wish I returned it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Such a short battery life. And if you don't turn it off the proper way, it'll die. Other speakers I've owned it'll power off after a certain time. Also the power button that you need to press for several of the functions, feels very odd. It feels like you can't push the bottom down properly. Very little travel on the button. Also doesn't work very well with the Sonos app. I was excited about this product. I would have returned it if I wasn't so confident in the product when I received it. So I didn't keep any of the packaging

Posted .Hi there. Here are a few tips to help preserve Roam's battery life: make sure you are powering down when not in use (hold power button full 5 seconds), disable any voice assistants when not plugged in, and ensure that you are charging with a 7.5W or higher charger. If you have tried these methods and are still experiencing issues, please reach out to our support team so we can help: support.sonos.com.

Sonos Roam
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like Sonos speakers, but that being said I had a difficult time with this. Sound was great when I could get it to power on and link to my system. The biggest issue I had was the location of the power button. If it was in a bag, it would turn on and be dead when I went to use it. Sometimes when I tried turning it on, it wouldn’t make a sound, but would be on. Other times, it would beep, but wouldn’t have any sound when playing. Was very frustrating and returned it. Hoping it was just a defective one, because the sound quality on Sonos products is amazing. If you get one, buy a hard case to transport!

Roam Beyond My Home
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the addition of this new Sonos Roam to my Sonos Home Wireless Network. I can easily add it to any location in my home that isn't quite covered by all of my other Sonos speakers, or I can bring it anywhere away from home and tap into it via Bluetooth from my iPod, iPad or cell phone. It's easy to use and has great sound quality!

Nice for easy listening
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a quality sounding speaker at low to mid volume but at higher volumes it only gets so loud and is not as crisp and clear. It does sound nice when added into a total Sonos surround sound system.

Great buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My girlfriend got these speakers and had a record player that wouldn't communicate with the speakers due to one being wifi and the other being blue tooth activated. The Roam has both capabilities and made it possible to use the record player. Great quality speakers, we're super happy with them!

Take It Anywhere!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Airplay and Bluetooth connectivity are straightforward and works well. I have not had any issues connecting the speaker via Bluetooth to my phone, laptop and various other devices around my home. The Roam is an excellent speaker because of its portability, convenience of use within my existing Sonos system, and its superb audio performance.

Better than I expected
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have two Gen 2 Beams, one sub, a move, and this Roam. I’m really happy with this little speaker and most often use it when I’m moving around the house but still wanting to hear my tv. I also sometimes place nearby on the couch at low volumes to make it easier to catch tv dialogue in those instances where other family members are making noise nearby.

Good portable speaker
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this little speaker. Great sound quality. I love how it will seamlessly go from Bluetooth to airplay and vice versa. I definitely get a whole day of listening on one battery charge. I enjoy being able to stream my audiobooks and music straight from the Sonos app. Alexa capability is nice but wasn’t really a deciding factor for me.

Worked great for 1 1/2 years..Now completely dead
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worthless now. Worked great for about 1 1/2 years. Now won't turn on. Dead. I get the orange light when I attempt to charge but nothing else. Power button now does nothing. I've searched the internet and see lot of complaints about the exact same thing. Sadly, worthless.

Finally a great Alexa enabled portable speaker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After trying other Alexa enabled portable speakers that did not work well ( I'm talking to you UE boom) I finally found a perfect portable speaker. The roam works great with Alexa. The sound is much better than any portable speaker I have ever owned. The trueplay feature works great in that it adjusts the speaker to it's environment. I am very happy with the Sonos roam

Beautiful paperweight... terrible speaker
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cannot recommend. As someone who has enjoyed Sonos products for years and currently owns a Sonos Beam, Sonos Play:5, two Sonos Play:3s and two Sonos Play:1s, I really wanted to like this product. First, the good news. It is an attractive speaker and comes in very nice packaging if you are into unboxing. The sound quality is good. Second, the bad: everything else. This product should never have been released with the battery issues. If you purchase you will need to keep it plugged in at ALL times that you aren't actively using it. Even when you power the speaker fully off, the battery will run down to zero in about a week. (Compared to my plethora of older off-brand portable bluetooth speakers that keep a charge for months with powered off). I first thought the "issue" was the speaker was powering up from sleep whenever I used my home Sonos system (bad design choice!). However, I am now on vacation away from home with no other nearby Sonos system and can tell you the Roam is just bad technology. What is the purpose of a portable speaker that cannot keep a charge? What is the purpose of a portable speaker that you need to keep plugged in ALL the time? This is the most disappointing piece of technology I have bought in a long time. Do NOT recommend. Buy a cheap $30 Bluetooth speaker. It may not sound as good, but at least it won't run out of juice 20 minutes into your day at the beach because you left the speaker in your bag for 2 days instead of plugged into the wall.
