I`m ingrained in the Sonos ecosystem and this definitely completes their range in my opinion as they have now perfected the portable audio space with the larger Move and now the more portable Roam. Sonos brings everything they`ve mastered in the home audio space to the portable audio space to create the ultimate lightweight portable speaker. Previously when I needed a portable speaker I`d always grab my UE Boom, but now I always find myself reaching for the Roam for a multitude of reasons. Firstly, the aesthetics of the Roam are what you would expect out of a Sonos product as they are very sophisticated and made of high-quality materials. The overall small form factor is extremely convenient as it is much more compact than nearly all other portable speakers. The triangular design is also different than other portable speakers, but I`ve found it much better than the circular design as it is much more convenient. Even though the Roam has such a small form factor, the sound does not mirror that as when I first began listening to it I was shocked at how well it performed. Compared to the UE Boom that I traditionally used the Roam is much smaller, but definitely holds its own when it comes to performance. It does not simply just get loud, but the clarity is top-notch. I`ve listened to a variety of genres and it definitely seems that Sonos did not neglect any aspect of the music as each genre shines in their own individual aspects. The aesthetics and music quality both stand apart from other Bluetooth speakers, but there are multiple features that push the Roam to the top of the portable speaker market for me. Firstly, the addition of Google Assistant and Alexa are a nice touch for a portable speaker as I can now use it in the bathroom and even shower as it can be fully submerged in water. However, as with all Sonos products, what truly sets the Roam apart is Trueplay and the fact that it is able to adapt to its environment to ensure that perfect balance is a game-changer as you can actually hear the difference when you place the Roam in different locations. Also, the feature of the Roam that it is able to switch between Wifi and Bluetooth automatically is extremely convenient. The other Sonos-specific aspect included is the handoff mode where I am able to hand-off what I`m listening to on the Roam to other Sonos speakers has actually been useful. The final item I need to note is the wireless charging as not having to keep track of another cable is so relieving! Overall, there are just so many positives with the Roam. I`ve always been a major Sonos fan and they set the bar high with all their products to which they have definitely jumped to the top of the portable speaker market now as well. With the form factor, sound quality, and numerous features I would not hesitate to recommend the Roam to anyone.

I don't love this item as much as I thought I would. I have a Sonos bar speaker for my TV & it's great. This portable speaker doesn't hold it's charge well and it's a but awkward to use. I prefer my old Beats Pill over this product.

Honestly this is my first somos product and I can assure you that I’m now going to change all the sound systems in my home.

You know you are in for a good experience just by how items are boxed. The speaker comes inside a very sturdy box. It is wrapped nicely as well to protect it until you are ready to use it. When a company takes time in the packaging you know you are going to be in for a treat. So upon opening the box and unwrapping the speaker you will want to plug it in to let it start charging. While it is charging you can download the Sonos S2 app. The speaker is very modern and sleek. The buttons are nearly invisible. When using the app you can add the speaker to your existing Sonos environment. The app walks you through all the steps, even connecting it to the WIFI which your mobile phone is connected to at the time. I have to say this was quite easy and enjoyable. I also enjoyed that to pair the device you just tapped the back of the speaker with your phone. Easy Peasy. How nice. I did also go into the bluetooth settings later and set it up that way too so I could use it in either wifi or bluetooth mode as needed. The device works with Apple AirPlay 2. It uses USB-C for charging. It also has wireless charging, which is a nice feature. It works with Google Assistant and Alexa. The kids are having fun with that feature. I thoroughly enjoy the auto switching between wifi and bluetooth and that I can be anywhere in the house and playing my music. I also have connected it to my projector in the extra room and used it to broadcast the sound across the room (hello no wires). The size is great, easy to hold in your hand or carry around but the sound is mighty. There is a tiny light that lets you know if you are connected or not, otherwise there are no other lights on the unit. I enjoy that it is water proof as we often take it with us to the pool and I like knowing it is safe even if it gets splashed or dropped in the water. I have to also note that regardless of which way you hold the device it always look like it is right way up "SONOS" is spelled the same forwards and backwards.

Roam is a nice well designed speaker. Have given two as gifts and recipients are very happy with it. My biggest complaint is that it’s not compatible with the previous Sonos software. If I update the Sonos software my whole sound system ( only purchased and installed 5 years ago) won’t work.

Great sound for its size and if you’re a Sonos user this could not be more intuitive.
