Customers are saying

Customers admire the Roam Smart Portable Speaker's amazing sound quality, portability, and surprisingly big sound for its small size. Many appreciate its ease of setup and Bluetooth connectivity, along with its water resistance for use in various settings. However, some users point to inconsistent battery life and occasionally low volume as drawbacks. A few also mention challenges with charging and the power button.

This is so handy to bring music or sports or news to wherever you wish to go. We use it on our lanai for music. We also paired it with our larger indoor speaker. Lightweight and easy to charge.

The speaker is easy to set up and link with other Sonos speakers throughout the home. The sound is great, for the size. Primarily purchased for outdoor activities like camping and gardening.

Great sounding speaker. Packs a lot of punch considering the size! The airplay feature is super handy because you can have other iPhone users share and play their music without dealing with Bluetooth connection.

Great sound from such a little speaker. Having the Bluetooth option is nice but usually use Wi-Fi at home with my other Sonos speakers.

Not bad for something small. I own a bunch of Sonos products and adding this was going to be great, but I was a little disappointed because connectivity and connection was not friendly at all. I had to contact Sonos CS multiple times to help with troubleshooting. Sound was good, but bass was ok. Not bad, but could be better.

Sounds great for a device the size of a soda can. Battery life as advertised. Phone app useful when voice is inadequate--sometimes it can't figure out which station i want. User manual incomplete, device lights and sounds more varied than manual indicates, took some trial and error to learn how to work it. Help at best buy very good. And get this, when I called sonos, because of the weak manual, i gor a real (or a high grade AI) helpful human pretty quick

As with any Sonos product, it seamlessly integrates into existing Sonos systems. It works flawlessly every single time. The sound is pretty good - the only downfall is that bass is a bit on the weaker side (compared to JBL's Charge 5 - not exactly the same but decently close). Also would be nice to use multiple Roam speakers together not on a wifi network (such as the beach where we would have multiple Roam speakers but can't use them all together as a single unit).

Great sound quality. Initial set up might be a little annoying but once its set up, it was so useful. Took it with me to shower. Connected to my apple tv and home pod to add extra audio. Great for traveling. Overall a great product.

    VERY DISAPPOINTED!

VERY DISAPPOINTED in this speaker! I bought 4 of these Sonos Roam speakers and a Sonos TV sound bar. Sound is excellent! We also bought a the wireless charger for each of the Roam speakers. Per the advice of the Best Buy Geek Squad tech who installed the entire system, we always left the speakers on the chargers. That way we could pick a speaker up, go outside, and it woud be all charged up. Everything worked great for just over a year. 2 months after my warranty expired one of the Roam speakers would not take a charge or turn on. After several sessions with Sonos customer support & trying all kinds of things to get it resolved, they essentially said it was a brick and unfixable. They said battery is not replaceable and it was no longer under warranty. So 2 months out of warranty, they wouldn't replace it but what they would is give me 10% off a new one, which at the time would cost more than other stores that had them on sale! AND, to top it off, another one of the speakers just turned into a brick, about 6 months out of warranty, which really torqued me off!

Sonos doesn't disappoint. This road is small but yet packs soma nice sound and bass. The only downside is the charging base needs to be purchased separately, but it comes with USB-c cord

    Disappointed and underwhelmed

Was very excited to receive the new Roam, but ended up underwhelmed. The reviews I read and listened to did state that the speaker does not get loud and the low end/bass is not great. I should have stopped there as that is true. It does offer clear/clean sound, but for $169 I really expected more. If you turn the bass up, nothing really happens but muddy the sound. I believe this product is very overpriced. Yes, I love that it connects to the other Sonos, but I think they need to go back and reevaluate this offering or significantly lower the price. This should be priced at no more than $100 and they have room to develop another larger portable speaker that performs better for a sub $200 price point. I do like the size and the portability of the unit, but will stick to my JBL Charge 3 and Flip 5 for transporting around and on the boat. I am considering the MOVE to use on patio, since this won't work for me, just having a hard time with the price.

Before you buy this, understand it is not a 4 foot stereo speaker stack, if you want a bigger soundI would recommend the Move. However, for the size of this BEAST, it is absolutely phenomenal. The bass is extremely impressive, the clarity of sound and how you can hear every instrument is mind boggling for the size. I love this speaker so much in fact I have purchased another one to use it in stereo! 5 stars, it is 100% worth the money, IF you can afford it. The price isnt super wallet friendly, but I believe the sound quality is better than the UE MEGABOOM which is 30 dollars more. It is THE same Sonos sound, just in a smaller package. (Also very easy to set up and use)

To be honest, I was not sure there would be enough sound coming from this speaker. I was very surprised and happy about what this speaker can produce. Integrates well with my exciting Sonos system. Super easy to setup.
