Not as easy to use as some of the other products from Sonos. Great sound quality but if the Move is more bang for the buck and is more similar in operation to their other products.

Sonos Roam is the best affordable compact speaker in the Sonos lineup. It is portable, slim yet feels rugged and designed with awesome features which is very easy to use. It is rated IP67, which is waterproof and dust resistant. It is also drop resistant, which is nice to have. The speaker comes with USB C cable for charging. There is no wall adapter included though. The battery lasts up to 10 hours of playback time. The speaker also supports wireless charging with any Qi charger. It can be used horizontally or vertically when listening. It was a breeze and seamless to link Roam with the existing Sonos system. You can also pair with another Roam speaker for stereo play. The speaker supports streamimg music via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. The best part about this feature is that the speaker will connect to your device if you lose WiFi connection. The physical buttons on Roam provides playback control options, turn off the microphone, and pair Bluetooth devices. The microphone helps with Trueplay feature where Roam optimizes the sound no matter the surrounding. It supports AirPlay 2 as well as voice control with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Download the Sonos app to control the speaker and stream various music services directly on to Roam. A new feature I like is the Sound Swap which lets you switch the audio to the nearest speaker and vice versa. Overall, this is an amazing portable speaker from Sonos that provides the bang for the buck with loaded features.

I've had Sonos speakers for over 5 years and I've put up with the set up and operating difficulty (has anyone really figured out how to use with Alexa?) because of the great sound. The Roam fits that classic Sonos model -- expensive, unintuitive and difficult to operate. In this case, setting it up on WiFi was relatively easy (after some adjustments to my Sonos system), Bluetooth was not and to top it off this one didn't' work -- just crackling coming out the speaker. Going right back!
