Customers are saying

Customers admire the Roam Smart Portable Speaker's amazing sound quality, portability, and surprisingly big sound for its small size. Many appreciate its ease of setup and Bluetooth connectivity, along with its water resistance for use in various settings. However, some users point to inconsistent battery life and occasionally low volume as drawbacks. A few also mention challenges with charging and the power button.

    Good sound but won't last.

Bought it in September 2021 and it stopped working after 2 years. It gave me the same defective issue that many are complaining about where it just stops charging and only shows you an orange light when plugged in. You would think that for $180 it would last longer and that's not the only issue it gave me. It constantly lost the Airplay connection as well. It's disappointing because when it worked the sound was nice.

Purchased as a birthday gift for my son to use in his college dorm. He loves it as he was already familiar with Sonos from our home setup. The other bonus is he can connect it to the home Sonos network and use wifi when at home.

I am thrilled with my purchase. Yes, Sonos comes in a little more expensive than other speakers. However, the sound is superb and the waterproof/wireless features make it well worth the extra dollars you might spend vs other options on the market. If you have existing Sonos sound bars or other speakers, it’s a no brainer.

Love, Love, Love!!! This little thing gives had such a powerful sound. Sono’s did a great job. A bit pricey. I gave 4 starts because I can not figure out how to turn off to keep the battery from dying.

These speakers are incredible. I move them to various rooms around the house and use them in connection with my other Sonos speakers to fill the whole place with sound. They have a good battery life and they're nice and lightweight -- but really the best part is the quality of the sound. Truly amazing.

It seemed like a quality product but I needed something louder so I returned it. I would buy again if I had a different use. The range was also not enough for my purpose.

In theory Sonos speakers a pretty cool but the roam speakers aren’t worth the purchase. Had mine for less than 2 years and now it no longer works. Was told by Sonos by Sonos that they only warranty them for a year and that after 18 months they are known to not work if they are on the charger too long. Sad because I have a Bose Bluetooth wireless speaker that I’ve had for around 20 years and that still works fine.

Great for a portable speaker with built in Alex. Nice for lounging by the pool. In my opinion it does a lot and the sound quality is pretty darn good for the price but it is not a $300 speaker. If you can afford a more expensive speaker go for it but for the price it is well worth it.

This is a must for people with Single sided hearing loss. I can place it by my good ear and adjust the volume and not overwhelm everyone else listening. I wish i could adjust the base and treble.

This is an excellent speaker. Incredible bass and mid range, decent battery life, and the price is affordable. Compared to similar size/price blue tooth speakers, this one beats them all hands down, add to that the sonos app and the ability to link in with all your other sonos products, makes this a no brainer.

I really wanted to like this speaker. I've owned a lot of Sonos products over the years, and thought this would make a nice addition. It sounds good. It's not terribly priced. So what's the issue? The power button and standby mode. See, if you are done using the speaker and just click the power off button, it doesn't power off, it goes into standby mode. The battery continues to drain though. To turn it off, and conserve battery, you have to hold that button for several seconds until it turns off. That can be a bit frustrating if you don't know about it.

4.5 stars. Great sound for the size and portability. Could be better with a charge. I prefer to use the Move on most occasions though and don’t use the Roam as much as I thought I would
