I needed a speaker, not a personal marketing guru

The problem is that SONOS has implemented several hurdles in order to use the speaker, including requiring a smart phone to operate the speaker, creating an account with SONOS, agreeing to mandatory data collection, constant precise location tracking and constant microphone recording and monitoring. This may be good for people that don't mind being pigeonholed into a single brand. But for the rest of us that use better sounding options, SONOS is not the way. I ended up returning the speaker and going with something simpler.

Posted .We recommend holding the power button for 5 seconds to make sure the Roam is completely turned off. If you don't do this, the Roam will go into standby mode, turning on without you noticing potentially which will drain the battery. Also, make sure you're using a charging brick with a minimum of a 7.5 watts.

Nothing but trouble

Either these units are duds or the open box condition certification process needs work. The Roam was dead on arrival. Connection via Wifi and Bluetooth would constantly disconnect. Too many issues to justify the cost or need for this. And yes. on latest firmware.

No Good. Doesn't charge and dies quickly

This speaker however will not charge past 60% and dies within an hour of use when not plugged into power. Returning and sticking with my JBL speaker when outdoors.

You never know if you going to have it charged or not . It goes into sleep or standby mode and will completely drain the charge without you even knowing. Total waste of $190

Posted .Thank you very much for taking the time to review the Sonos Roam. To turn the Roam off completely hold the button on the back down for 5 seconds. That will turn the Roam completely off so that it doesn't drain battery in standby mode. Also, the Roam requires a minimum of 7.5w charging brick.

Why can’t Sonos get the tech right?

Pain syncing to wifi

Lots of issues - I do not recommend the Roam

The Roam, however, is one of the worst products I’ve bought in a long time, and it’s not cheap. Mine often will not turn on, not connect, or it will freeze. At first I thought maybe it was just a one or two time thing, but no, it had issues about 95% of the time. I’ve now given up on it and am out a nice chunk of change. I would not recommend this product.

Surprised, difficult to set up and so so sound!

So disappointed! I found it very difficult to set up into my existing system, all the other speakers were so easy. I called Sonos for assistance and was able to get it to work via bluetooth but was very disappointed with the sound. Returned!!
