I have the Gen 1 and this speaker is a Gen 3. After pay seven hundred plus dollars, I learned that these are not compatible. Very disappointing. (The update is a GEN 2 update, confusing) I do not want to wait for an update and I am not going to replace all my speakers that are not 2yr old. I like these more than the Bose, but the thought of waiting for an update, or receive a coupon for 15% off for a speaker upgrade. SMH disappointment

Just don't for any other sound system. Go for this one. Worth every dollar. I went for Best Buy's open box and saved a $100, but it sure looked and sounded as brand new.

      Hello Dave,

It's fantastic to hear that you've added a second Sonos Sub Gen 3 to your setup with the Arc soundbar! We're thrilled that you're enjoying the enhanced audio experience that comes with this upgrade.

Attractive looking Sub that's easy to setup. It does help the bass when paired with the Arc, but can't say it's stunning. A sub included in an all-in-one Sony system from 13 years ago performed better and was half the price for the entire setup.

Thanks for the feedback. We're sorry that the out of the box experience wasn't as impactful as you hoped. If you are looking to enhance the Sub's performance you can try two things. First, you can use the Trueplay tuning which will optimize the sound for your room. Second, you can go into the Sub settings and adjust its volume on its own. You can do so by following these steps. (Settings, System, "room with the Sub", Sub Audio). Here you can turn the level of the Sub up and achieve the impact you are looking for. john.milton
