This is an incredible sub! I also happen to have the Nakamichi Shockwafe. This Sonos has a similar room filling base, but it’s connectivity is where it really shines. Nakamichi uses wireless technology to connect, but it often cuts out. You also get stray base rumble. The Sonos is just perfectly connected clear, clean sound. The base is everything you could want from a single dub. It can also lay on its side, and it’s small enough to tuck under our bed. So it’s completely out of sight. This is overkill for a bedroom, but movies in bed with the Sonos surround, are next level awesome, if you’re a stepper!!

Plenty of base even for my big open room. I have the mini hooked up with the Arc Ultra and Era 100's and it sounds amazing. More than enough base for movies. I did a lot of research and the Sub Gen 4 might have too much base and need to be turned down. So why pay 2x as much for too much base when the mini is really good.

[Employee of bestbuy] Paired with my Sonos Beam Gen 2 this little subwoofer makes a BIG difference. Giving the majority of the lower frequencies to the sub allows the beam to provide a better listening experience for both music and movies. I watched Mad Max Furiosa last night and it completely chnaged the watching experience. In the sonos app you can disable the sub on demand, in certain scenes of the movie I turned the sub off to hear what it would sound like without it and man, without the sub its like all the depth of the sound disappears. Definitely a must have upgrade if you own a beam. If you’re on the fence like I was, just bite the bullet and get it! If you end up changing your mind you can always return it!

Amazing for its size. Sound is not far off from the sub gen 4 or sub 4. You don't need the bigger subs. Unable to pair 2 of these though, so if you have a larger room you will need the full size sub.

Makes a huge difference when paired with a arc ultra amd two era300s for surround!! Now i cant stop watching good movies cause of how great the sound is. Highly recommend sonos

This thing paired with 4 Sonance 6.5" In-ceiling speakers fills my room perfectly. Honestly have sub4 setting at +1, so plenty more available if needed.

Amazing little sub that sounds way better than it should!

This is our second Sonos sub. We have an earlier system in another room...but the sub is the same. LOVE both systems. And I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up.

After much research reading reviews on what others thought I purchased the beam and mini sub for my living room. My living room has vaulted ceilings and is semi open. There is a wall between kitchen and living room but it stops where the dining room starts. Set up was easy but I had to turn the mini sub up to 10 before I realized it was working. I now have it set on 6. I’m not a big time bass person but at the same time hearing base on a tv show or movie just makes it better. I have an Arc on order for my family room in the basement. I was going to order a mini sub because of the reviews I read but now I will be ordering the sub 4 for the family room. Family room is the main place I watch tv. The mini sub will work for the living room as a casual place but I don’t think it would work for my family room where the majority of movies and sports is watched. I will likely get the era 300 for the family room too. Will not get surround sound for the living room. The beam works great in that space.

I purchased this for my bedroom to go with the Beam. Amazing quality, but price is a bit high.

Great clean sound. Plenty for bass for most situations. Can add additional sub if more bass needed.

I thought it wouldnt near a full side sub but turn out it wonderful. Playing with 1000ft2 room is more than perfect. Made my right choice.

I wasn’t expected to be blown away due to the smaller size of the sub compared to the original Sonos one but it’s great for my bedroom TV. I paired it with the Sonos Beam, and while the bass is much more responsive to music, it does fill in low frequencies when watching television. I would only recommend it for smaller rooms and placement is key. I put mine in the corner of the room behind the chair that’s not too far away. Set up was breeze and pleased with my purchase. I’m taking away one star just due to the overall performance but again I didn’t expect much.

Performance: Bought this sub for my basement system (beam + 2 play 1’s) and placed it directly on a hard floor. The sound is very punchy and has good weight to it without any vibration. Movies and music sound excellent and I was surpised by how much it added to gaming. The isolation is excellent so small thuds have a punch but no follow on vibrations which makes the gaming experience much more immersive. Set Up: You’ll need the sonos app but if you’re buying this sub, chances are you already have other sonos products. Set up has been simplified and connecting to my exisiting system took about 20 seconds. Simply place the phone near the top of the unit and it connects. Build Quality: The finishes on the unit are high quality plastic, the rubber feet help keep it in place and it generally feels pretty solid. I have two beams and four play 1’s and this unit definitely feels the most “premium” of the products. Overall: I had high hopes for this system and it exceeded my expectations. I would recommend for smaller home theater set-ups, living rooms & gaming set-ups, and as a dedicated hi-fi system.
