I had this Subwoofer for 13 month and one day it just stop working. Had to pay to fix so was actually really fast, now my Play 5 that is 6 months old is giving me problems. The play 5 is under the warraty so time is not so fast like the one I had to pay to fix. The sound quality is good, the app is easy to use, easy to install. If you decided to buy get the extented warranty. I don't recommend the product because is too expensive to work only for 13 months.

If I could get it linked to sound bar! They came and linked it. I purchased a new router from best buy and when I installed it , the sub and 2 play stations went out and I can't get them linked again.

I was very disappointed in the Sonos products. We bought it as a sound bar for our new 4K HDTV . It will not read DTS sound as we could not get the benefit Dolby sound with BluRay disc and Sonos.

I just purchased this last component to my home theater and I can say I am now hooked on Sonos! This sound system is simply the best on the market and is so easy to set up it is sick. I have owned many systems, from Sony to Onkyo to Pioneer and nothing compares. Even the Bose systems I tested in the Magnolia section of Best Buy struggled to compare. Plus no system is fully wireless and works off of your existing Wifi. See what Sonos does best is connects to existing Wifi to become part of your digital household. Plus it just looks nice and the sound is crisp and true 5.1 surround. Adding this sub to my Playbar and two Play 3s completed what already was a booming sound. Now I crank this up and it is like Thunder shaking the house. I can't even put it at the top levels it is so strong. Plus playing music through the system is unbelievable, using my existing iTunes library and internet radio stations. When I needed to optimize the system, I called Sonos Tech support and they actually were able to log on and see my system and help me from their offices with diagnostics. The future is finally here and no more wires running all over the room. You plug in and hit one button and you are connected and up and running. Everything from the packaging to instructions is almost exactly like an Apple product, seamless and simple. Try this and you will never return to another system. The people I know that bought this system, brought their Bose system to the basement for a yard sale! Do yourself a favor, buy this system!

    Sonos sub is awesome!

added this to a previous Sonos sound bar purchase as I was missing the bass when watching TV and listening to music. It has made all the difference and is worth every penny. My advice is don't even think about purchasing the Sonos sound bar without the Sonos sub as it makes THAT much of a difference. Took about 5 minutes to set up to my existing Sonos system through the app, was easy to calibrate (of course turned up the bass!) and now its a pleasure listening to music and yes, the bass adds a lot to Netflix movie watching and cable TV. just buy it!

    The best wireless option

For enthusiasts that require a wireless setup, there is not currently a better option on the market. The sound quality is PERFECT for the system’s maximum capability (the decoding of Dolby Digital 5.1). Transmitting Dolby HD would require far too much bandwidth for most networks, and is thus not an option (yet). The bar does automatically recode Dolby HD as Dolby Digital 5.1 There is only one weakness for this system: It is unable to decode DTS. For video games, satellite TV, cable TV, and movie streaming, this is not a problem because they are all coded in Dolby Digital. However, an increasing number of blu-ray movies are encoded with DTS MA as the only available English audio. When the system was conceived, there was barely a television that passed DTS through the optical output. However, nearly every 2015 television is capable of passing through DTS through the output. SONOS will transmit the signal as PCM, and you will lose nearly all of your audio luster. The reason I chose not to deduct a star for the lack of a DTS decoder is because most of the best blu-ray players on the market (with the exception of Sony) give users the option of re-coding audio in Dolby Digital. Thus, any DIGITAL (audio that can be transmitted via bit-stream) audio on a blu-ray (DTS, DTS-HD, DTS-MA, DTS2.0, DD, DD+, DD TrueHD) will be output in DD 5.1 format, which is compatible with the SONOS system (example, Samsung H-series players). With DTS virtually absent outside of blu-ray discs, the lack of DTS support is minimally an issue for SONOS owners. However, if iTunes, video games, Netflix, and a variety of other media outlets begin to prefer DTS over Dolby, SONOS will have to act… I just hope it’s a firmware upgrade and not another seven-hundred dollar bar!

    Sub Bumps!

I purchased the SONOS sub at the same time as the Playbar. I have downsized from a large THX system and was skeptical at first about the sound quality, but this set up does an awesome job. No it is not as nice as my former setup BUT it's not a massive wall of equipment with 7 speakers either. I have no regrets what so ever in this decision, the SONOS design is incredible, sound quality is great and it's super simple to set up. To install my Playbar and Sub it was two power cords and one optical audio cable (included with the Playbar), download the free controller app to my iPad and run the setup, done! One thing to keep in mind is how this system operates, it runs by creating a wifi network, to create this network I highly recommend that you get the SONOS BOOST. This will allow you to create a separate network just for your SONOS setup. It's the only way to go in my opinion and it makes configuring the system a breeze, just plug the Boost into your current router and plug in the power cord. When you run the controller app it recognizes the Boost and guides you thru the rest of the networking configuration. Do not let this review make it sound like the system is complicated to set up, it literally took me approx. 20 minutes to set it up and most of that time involved taking the SONOS Sub, Playbar and Boost out of the boxes. Lastly, one of the main reason I went with SONOS is the ability to add on, if down the road I want to go to a 5.1 surround sound, I can by adding two Play1s, or Play3s to the network.

We love the Sonos products. They are not cheap by any means, and they require that you buy into the Sonos ecosphere so you'll likely need a Soundbar and/or other speakers. But they nicely designed and are very easy to install with the iPhone app. There are also plenty of compatible music streaming applications to stream directly through the service as well, now including Apple Music Spotify and others. Highly recommended, if you are willing to spend the money.

Was very excited to hear about the product extension for Sonos. I'm a really big fan of their products and have several friends that purchased systems after seeing it in action at my home. Really toiled about pulling the trigger on the sub due to the high price (it's the most expensive component by far). After adding it to my set up, I am definitely going to keep, as it really added a lot to the overall sound. The range extension was amazing as it improved a sound that was already pretty good. If you can come up with the cash, it's a definite must have. I love the high quality Sonos products, but they need to be careful they don't price themselves out of the market.

    This sub BLEW MY MIND!

Let me start this review off by saying WOW!! I have seen Sonos products for years but had never really sat down and listened to them. My first purchase about a week ago was a Play 5, which sounded awesome by itself already. I subscribe to all the home theater magazines and have seen reviews on this sub and everyone raves about it. I decided to give it a shot and see what it was all about. If you're familiar with Sonos you know how simple it is to "pair" the device. Simply go to the app/computer and click "add component" from there it walks you through the process, which involves pressing the one button on the sub, listening to some bass tones to help calibrate it, and you're up in running. It will literally take you less than 5 minutes to add this to your system. Once this was added i cued up the new Daft Punk album and put on one of my favorite songs "Doing it Right". My jaw hit the floor when the bass came in! Not only did the sub blend perfectly with the Play 5 but I was shocked at how low it hit and how clean it sounded. No matter how loud I turned it up the sub handled it without breaking a sweat! I laid in bed for hours listening to tracks from Spotify and can not get enough of the sound from this system! I've owned alot of great subs in my home theater (previously a Definitive Technology Supercube Trinity and now 2 Artison RCC600FS subs) and this gives them a run for their money! I am now ready to buy the PlayBar and another one of these subs for my living room. TRUST ME if you're considering this sub, do yourself a favor and order it NOW! You will not be disappointed! I think so highly of this sub I'm sitting here at 1:05am writing a review about it LOL.

This sub woofer is incredible. Pairing it with the Playbar and 2 Play 1s to get surround sound for my TV has made our movie watching experience much more exciting. My fiance also loves playing playstation games in surround sound. I would say that one of the strongest benefits of this system is that the smaller speakers become much clearer and the dialog much crisper when paired with the SUB. The Pairing allows the SUB to take over the low frequencies so the other speakers emit just the mid-range sound that is most important. So, in addition to making fight scenes and explosions way more dramatic, the SUB enhances the listening experience for the entire movie by improving dialog. I took off one star for the high price, but other than that the SUB is amazing. If you have the money to spend, you will not regret it.

Surprised at how much bass the Sonos Sub is capable of. Totally changes the quality of the music in a very positive way. It is a bit pricey so maybe not get 1 for every room you have a Sonos speaker in (unless you can afford it then by all means get 1 for every room) but highly recommend for your main Sonos listening area.
