I have the Playbar and two Play:1s and thought I was okay without the sub. While the sound without the sub is pretty impressive, I did miss the full balanced sound of having some bass especially when watching movies. This sub more than fills the bass void with no rattles and no muddiness. It really balances the system out remarkably. Highly recommend.

Tested quite a few other soundar/subwoofer combinations, including the Bose Acoustimas, and I found the Sonos to blow it out of the water.

The extended bass produced by this sub woofer is clean and undistorted. The innovative balanced facing drivers powerfully extend the low frequency end without producing distorting vibrations of the cabinet and floor. I consider this sub a required addition to the Sonos Playbar and Play 1 surround speakers for an audio experience rivaling the best theater systems.

Amazing. I just purchased a 65” LG smart tv and paid almost as much for the Sonos components. Initially I only purchased an LG sound bar but was so disappointed I returned it. I’m so glad I made the investment. The Sonos app enhances the sound distribution perfectly customized to your space. And it was so easy to see set up. Love!!!

Great sounding sub to add to your Sonos collection. The bass sounds fantastic and compliments the playbar and 1's that I have connected to it. It appears the subwoofer will tune itself to your existing set up. Before getting this sub, I had the sonos amp plus a separate 8" infinity sub and it was not tuned correctly - a lot of overlapping sounds which sounded muffled

I purchased the Sonos soundbar first without the sub but I quickly figured out that was a mistake. I went back and purchased the sub and now my sound system sounds great. I had been told to not purchase the soundbar without the sub and they were right. It makes a ton of difference to the sound of the system. Great sound, easy to set up and use.

I previously had two Sonos speakers just for playing music, so I was confident that the sound from the Subwoofers should also be good and it didn’t disappoint. It was incredibly easy to install and I’m really happy with the sound quality. It also isn’t too big and looks good in the lounge. Overall- very pleased with my purchase.

The Sonos Subwoofer is a must have with the Playbar. They sound GREAT together. The bass is out of this world. My Playbar, Sub and Sonos One Gen 2 speakers were the life of the party. I stream Amazon Music, Apple Music, Google Play Music, Spotify and Sirius XM thru my system. Awwwwwwwsome! My wife loves it.

We moved over to a Sonos system with a play bar, 2 play-1, and this sub for our main living area and TV. The sound is fantastic, and the sub is one of the major reasons. The sound — movies in particular — are full and deep without rumble or excess vibration. I think the design and execution of this speaker is spot-on.

Sonos sub works great in my home theater set up. Purchased glossy black and fits in well and great look. Set up was easy using the Sonos App to get things going. However, wouldn't mind if Sonos brought more features back to my laptop. Output is very good. Satisfied with purchase and would recommend.

Easy setup and plenty of volume and lots of bass if you want it. Controls via iPad or iPhone is very nice. Plays my DLNA server music.

read up before purchase was made listened to it in the store it sounded better than the Bose so I purchased it very happy with product

I think the sonos player ( playbar and sub) is awesome!!! The quality of the system is great and it’s exactly what I was looking for!!

If you have the Sonos soundbar then you really must have this. The soundbar can hang OK on its own but you will need this for a good sound experience with movies and TV. One other note: the sub can either stand upright or lay flat. The packaging comes with feet for that. Downside to this is the price. Subs aren't typically cheap but this one is pricey.

The Playbar is great, but this adds needed bass. And the bass is great. Not sure I love the price, but as it's the only option for the playbar, I'll take it.

No wires, easy set up, takes care of low frequencies with ease and no distortion or rumble. Clear, precise, accurate, and fully adjustable on app. I admit it is cost a lot but nothing else compares unless you want to spend much more. I have had Klipsch, Yamaha, Cambridge sound works etc. My wife loves the downsize wireless approach. I love the sound quality.

I thought it was overkill and was going to return it even though I got it on holiday sale, but put with my two 5s for listening to music, my CDs, SOO worth it as the bass frees up the 5 to do more work at the higher ends. Quality product!

Was convinced to buy this system. It is the best purchase of a sound system I've ever made. Crisp highs and deep lows and the perfect amount of mids. This thing gets loud! Even with just the sound bar and one sub. Love that you can expand it to and infinite amount of speakers and thats its all wifi connected and completely wireless. Love this thing

The Sonos Sub is an awesome addition to my sound system. I thought the playbar was good as a stand alone. I added two Play 5’s and this Sub and now have a truly amazing stereo and surround sound theatre system in my living room. Pricey but the sound quality is amazing. No tinny sound. Deep sound, great volume. Clear dialogue.
