Decent Sounding Earphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Sony earphones are a really good value for their price point and are rather comfortable to wear. Normally I'm not a fan of in-ear phones as I don't like to hear the sound of my breathing but these really weren't that bad. There is a snug fit and after a couple of minutes I really didn't notice the behind the neck thingy (which is something that normally gets on my nerves. I never installed the Sony iOS app to go with these as I don't like installing extra "stuff". That being said, the noise cancelling effectively reduced the ambient engine sounds from two recent trips and provided a very pleasant listening experience. Sounds were pretty clear and crisp. Not as good as a good set of over ear cans but for the form factor there were some of the best in ear phones I've ever used. Battery life was close enough to their claims that the slight difference really isn't worth mentioning. Highly recommended!

It sucks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I rarely write a review. But this time, I have to. I have been using this product for 2 months and found that this product is a real gabage. Compared to Bose's products, 1000x is not worth investing. In particular, its bluetooth connectivity performs very poor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have several devices from iPhone, Windows Phone, laptops to desktops. Without exception, 1000x does not work well with my devices. I never recomend this product to my friends.

More than just another pair of headphones!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have several sets of headphones already, a few of them wireless or blue tooth. These are not just another pair of wireless headphones. They are smart, adaptable, have multiple configurations and settings for different uses and environments, and have very high end sound. There are several things I can say about this product: They are comfortable to wear, as the design keeps them where they are supposed to be. The neck band design is light but solidly built and sturdy. It comes with several different size choice of ear buds, so you can pick the perfect fit for your ears. This is huge, as I have had phones that fall out of my ears many times. The sound is second to none as far as headphones go. The noise cancelling feature is optional, you can toggle it on and off, it is also adaptive, so you can have varying levels of ambient noise depending on your needs or location! All of these awesome features are great in addition to the ability to use them for phone calls, there is a wire for using plugged in on an airplane!. Too many features to mention them all here. Get a pair of these, you will not be disappointed! Yet another quality Sony product.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.20171027-BBTIN review of Sony WX-1000 headphones On opening the packing I found the headphones/earbuds on top. Under the top layer, I found the multiple sizes and types of earbud caps. Also in the box was an image based instruction manual which is a bit misleading. From the manual it appeared that the estimated full-charge time is around 0.3 hours; when in fact is more like 3 hours. There is also a USB to micro charging cable but no actual charger included. Seems like a silly place to save production costs on $300 headphones. There are three sizes of two different materials, silicone and foam. Between these you should be able to get a good fit. The pair that shipped on the the earbuds seemed to fit my ear canals fairly well, but I did opt for a slightly smaller size for the best fit. So I needed to charge them up to give them a good listen. When I removed the cover on the micro-USB charging port it felt a little weak. I don’t think that this particular piece will see much longevity, but otherwise solid connector. After charging was complete I first attempted to pair by Bluetooth alone instead of using the app. Since this should be a basic functionality it should be rather simple. It did take three tries but once connected, it was solid. On future uses they paired immediately with minimal delay. Once of the best features is that when you are pairing or switching modes, there are audible prompts played through the headphones. This type of response is very reassuring to know that you are in the correct mode. Next, I connected with the Sony Connect app. It will assist in establishing the Bluetooth connection and give you various options. Such as noise cancelling modes, adjusting the surround sound trim, etc. Sound quality is above average when compared to other BT headphones that I’ve tried. But they don’t quite measure up to the quality of a pair of corded headphones that I own. But when you need other features such as noise cancelling, the difference fades. The noise cancelling works very well. I tried this in a variety of environments and each time I experienced a noticeable reduction in ambient sounds. You can also control how much or how little ambient sound is passed along. This can be important in situations where safety is concerned and you need to hear some of the sounds around you. Battery life is impressive. It’s rated at 10+ hours and I got around 12. I don’t listen at high volumes and that would explain it. In summary, these are very good earbuds. Above average sound quality, very good fitting options, noise cancelling and a well designed companion app. While the app does add a lot, it’s not at all required for most operation.

Aweful quality - Died after just 7 months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I was a kid, Sony stood for high quality. Apparently that is no longer the case. I purchased these headphones on November 24, 2017 and have been using them sparingly as I tend to use my Bose QC35 more. Never took them outside my place as I always travel with my QC20. Today, July 8, 2018, the headphones just died during use. I could no longer power them on or charge them. I reset the headphones following the instructions online and nothing happened. I also attempted restoring the factoring setting and again, nothing happened. I only found out after they died that Sony only offered 90 days warranty on these. Both pairs of my Bose ANC headphones have lasted more than 2 years with far more frequent use. Do not buy these unless you want to spend over 200 dollars and use them sparingly for just 7 months.

Many Positives
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found these to have excellent sound and great noise canceling ability. I would definitely recommend them, with one caveat (see negatives below). Nicely packaged and comes with 7 sets of eartips, USB charging cable, micro USB to 3.5mm audio cable, airplane audio adapter and a nice bag to carry everything in. Easily paired to 3 different devices. I could get about 25 feet or so away from source before starting to lose connection. The volume/play/pause/forward/back and answer calls buttons are all in the neckband, which also vibrates when you get notifications or incoming calls. I found them to be comfortable to wear and not heavy at all. I would not suggest them if planning to use running or hard workout. I got exactly 10 hours of use with noise canceling on (a voice comes on telling you to charge). It took between 3 to 4 hours to fully charge using wall outlet. Noise canceling function was great. I used them while on my treadmill and couldn’t hear it at all. Also I had them on while at my desk on the PC and my wife had to come tap me on the shoulder to get my attention . There is an app you can download that will allow you to set the adaptive sound, ambient sound control, noise canceling range and optimzer, sound position control, equalizer, sound quality, standby power and vibration call alert. Suffice to say you can spend some time getting these exactly the way you want them to be. Having the option to hard wire these is nice if battery is dead, or on a plane and not allowed to use bluetooth or maybe to tap into the in-flight entertainment. Also the earphone wires can be tucked into the edge of the band when not in use to help keep them safe. Negatives; The only issue I experienced was a lag for the audio of about half a word behind when watching video/TV. Not enough to make them unusable but was enough that I wanted to comment on it and took away 1 star. I connected them to my TVs using 3rd party bluetooth transmitter (that I can attach to any headphone jack) and also tried watching video on my phone and laptop, using their built in bluetooth to connect, and there was a delay on them as well. I have a pair of over ear bluetooth headphones that I have used on these as well and they have no delay.
