I have a Bose QC35 and I would say this Sony is at the same level for the noise reduction function. Regarding sound quality it is very good. Somehow different from the Bose but I cannot say better or worse... it is different. I love both but this one I got for my daughter. We use them specially when travelling to avoid noise at the airplane and still enjoy a movie or music with high quality sound.

I own these and sennheiser pxc500. These are clear cut better in every way. These Sony's sound much better and now has an app to customize the sound which last year's Sony model did not have. The noise cancelling is also much better. The sennheisers don't block out as much noise and sometimes gave me a slight headache. I also like the touch gestures on these which made me choose these over their top rival Bose QC35.

A good headphone from a noise cancelling standpoint, the battery life is quite good, but when i use it for more than 45 minutes, my ears start to pain badly.

I tried these Sony wireless noise canceling headphones against the Bowers and Wilkins px model. I've used Bose before, but I felt they looked a little nerdy when people used them on planes. So between the Sony and B&W.. The Sony are dramatically lighter. Very soft ear pads. I like the gold color so it stands out with just a touch of bling. But they don't feel nearly as well made as the B&W. The sound is a little muffled compared to the B&W and I don't like the software or controls as much. But they were on sale and cost $100 less, so it was hard to say no to that. Both came with cables to plug into the airplane media system and travel cases.

Great sound and battery life. This is one of my favorite purchases ever.

Bought this as a Christmas present. Listened to it when on a plane and it did a great job of cancelling our plane noise and providing sound for both music and a movie. Was about $100 cheaper than a pair of Bose QC35’s when I bought it. I prefer the QC35’s over this pair but you have to take into account the price point. Great product for the price.

Outstanding in every way except connectivity to multiple devices at the same time e.g. talk on the iPhone and listen to music on Mac without having to disconnect one and connect the other. That doesn’t work very well and that’s the only reason the product doesn’t get 5 stars. But that’s a minor issue. I’d still very highly recommend this headphone. I had bought Bose QC 35 ii first and returned it to get this one. Top notch technology and intuitive touch interface. Superb sound and noise cancellation. The iPhone app also gives you a lot of flexibility to change things around. Used in flight too. Very effective and comfy.

If you have a chance to try on all of the headphones in the Best Buy store and compare their noise-cancelling abilities, you will soon realize that these are by far the best headphones you could buy. It was like stepping into a soundproof room, instantly all of the white noise around me was gone. I appreciate owning headphones like these when my sensitivity to noise pollution gets out of control.

I have been using different type of noise cancellation products and all kind of headphones as a pro, and I can say that this is quite the best for the money. Tested for almost 30 hours non stop and had no issues and experienced amazing sound quality. Noise cancellation is quite good as well in a flight environment.

Coming into the world of wireless headphones was a new change in scenery for me. But this guy right here made that transition easy. The noise cancelation was topnotch, the sound quality is amazing, the app is easy to use, the style is very nice, and the hands free utilization is dope. If anybody is looking to getting wireless headphones /headset, get these guys right here. You won't regret it.

Have a Bose $346 headphone and needed to buy another one so decided to try the Sony which is the same price. It is as good as the Bose with slightly better noise cancelling, and some other features that you can control through the app which the Bose doesn't have. Very happy with my purchase. The model that Costco sells is a lower model and lower price, and is not as good as this model.
