Customers are saying
Customers often highlight the excellent sound quality, ease of use, and Dolby Atmos capabilities of the 1155W 7.2-Ch. A/V Home Theater Receiver. Many also appreciate the receiver's power and straightforward setup process. While some users noted the unit can get warm during operation and that the menu system could be improved, the positive feedback on sound and ease of use outweighs these concerns for most buyers. The price point is also frequently cited as a positive aspect.

NICE RECEIVER
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver has many HDMI ports and was easy to set up. It has a more simplified remote (less buttons) than my last Sony receiver.

Receiver/Amp does all I need and more!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, high quality .wav or .aiff songs played via USB in front. Yes, great quality sound for playing anything via all media/connections. Yes, Bluetooth... Pretty much expected to be used with a tv screen/monitor involved for menu/controls, but once set to play a bunch of music via USB, that screen can be turned off.

Very Happy with My Sony Receiver Purchase.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When my old Panasonic Home Theater System finally bit the dust, I upgraded to this Sony Receiver unit. It is a lot more user friendly, in addition to being far more advanced than my Panasonic all-in-one system. Plus, I can regularly update this unit with current software over ethernet.

Once you take advantage of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object-based surround sound, combined with 4K HDR and HDCP 2.2 support, there is no going back! Flexible home theater receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite Sony's phony power rating (165 watts at 1000Hz with 1 channel in use at 6 ohms-who are they kidding?), this receiver seems to provide plenty of power for my bi-amped 5.1 home theater. Instructions for bi-amping are excellent, and the calibration menu takes a bit of time but produces a decent result. The HDMI handshake is a lot quicker than my old receiver.

Easy to install and use great options
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy install and easy to use. Does require a good air flow to keep it cool, I didn't have enough so I placed a laptop cooler pad on top of it and plugged it into the usb port on the front. Now cooler turns on when the unit is turned on and off when it's turned off.

Upgrades for my man cave
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this product. I am in the middle of remodeling my man cave and I love this upgrade. Just purchased all the speakers to go with it and can’t wait to get those hooked up as well. I especially love the fact that everything I look at now is in surroundsound

Great addition to my home theater!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another open box purchase that didn’t disappoint. Amazing quality and with plenty of functionality and amenities that will add seamlessly to even the most high end systems. And it’s Bluetooth capable, so streaming from mobile devices is also available. In short, this is a high end system that’s well worth the money.

Excellent power performance
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 2 of these units now. One setup is 5.1.2 and the other setup as 7.2. Depending on what the audio source is I use ((A.F.D)) or Dolby Digital surround setting and get great theater quality sound. I use these receivers to power Klipsch speakers which have awesome sound.

Decent surround sound but TERRIBLE TUNER!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great surround sound amplifer section ... But to classify it as a 'receiver' is a HUGE MISTAKE as the built in tuner in this unit absolutely sucks! It only receives FM analog- So no HD, no AM, no AM Stereo C-Quam. TOTAL FAIL on SONY's part! I'm hooking up my own tuner, a Sangean HDT-1x... it does EVERYTHING! As of January 2021, I find no manufacturers that have decent tuners in any full size home audio systems- nothing but total junk! Give us HD and AM Stereo C-Quam as an AM HD fallback / full fidelity AM option! This system does the surround amping good though. But it could have been an awesome system if it had a good tuner and I would have a top rating. As is, the unit sucks and expands the misconception that 'radio sucks' when in fact, it's the actual, physical tuner that sucks.

Versatile receiver, with crisp sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver is probably overkill for my small room, but the flexibility of the different outputs is great. Especially like the additional ZONE feature. Very easy to use interface to control the receiver on the TV because doing it manually on the receiver itself is confusing. Great sound, no complaints

Great all around
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I have had this for about 2 months now and I am completely in love with it. I have only replaced my receiver so far, but in doing so I have improved the sound quality 10 fold. And the multi zone feature is great. I use zone 2 to power my outdoor speakers on my patio and play music via Bluetooth from my phone.

A good lower level amp with a ton of features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony's consumer electronics line is always packed with features - I especially like that you can broadcast to Bluetooth headphones, but the quality is always lacking a bit. I have been through three of these amps - if you don't keep them cool and ventilated, they burn out in 12 months.

Awesome sound and features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even with average speakers, the sound quality is superb quality. Though i wished Airplay and chromescast plugin supported video, but never mind audio support is a very good plus point. Calibration of the speakers is important else there could be lag between speakers. Overall a must buy for quality audio lovers

Great 4K receiver for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to upgrade my 12 year old AV receiver, so I researched receivers and found this one. It has the features I needed for a reasonable price. I don’t have an elaborate speaker setup, so I can’t talk about the full surround sound setup. I have been very happy with it.
