This is the second Sony receiver that I've owned. The first is not 17 years old, and still working perfectly. The only reason for the upgrade to this is the older receiver doesn't have any HDMI I/O. 17 years of service without so much as a hiccup is solid enough for me to come back.

At first, I was skeptical in purchasing this unit. However, i have to say that it has over exceeded my expectations and has proofed to be an amazing choice. really goes well with my Klipsch speakers and surround sound.

Still going strong. Excellent performance for 4k movies and high end surround sound. Audio is excellent and the separation between the speakers is wonderful. The subwoofer functions flawlessly and makes movies like Pearl Harbor more than realiistic accoustically during the Pearl Harbor attack.

Audio quality from this receive is excellent. I wish it supported Zone-2 along with all 7.1 channels. I have to choose between two.

I bought this for the family room to connect a 5.1 as well as 2 outdoor speakers in Zone 2. I love that I can connect my phone or computer to play music through Airplay. It is fairly simple to use and has a on screen menu when using it with the TV.

I had a Sony receiver that I purchased About 10 years ago which still worked perfect with my turntable, blue ray and bookshelf speakers... still worked like a charm put upgraded to get atmos. Does everything the last one did plus better sound and the atmos is awesome!

I am really happy with this purchase as it has all of the power and hookups I need to power my surround sound system. The ability to hookup other devices to have it all controlled through the receiver is the perfect setup for my theater room.

Upgrade to my older Sony Receiver. Easy to set up with capability to match my existing TV and speaker configuration. Best feature: Zone 2 sound - allowing for a secondary room to be fed by the main receiver - in my case an outdoor patio.

Bought a Sony TV and DVD player and wanted it all the same brand. Receiver does everything the literature says.

Always used Sony A/V equipment and this unit has all the features previous versions have been missing. Great on screen GUI , 4k and 3D pass through . Rich sound and vibrant color through to TV. Network functions are good. Only negative is the removal of the many soundfield settings that you could choose to enhance speaker use.

Good sound improvement after setting up my speakers. Much better than my old Sony receiver. I love being able to play my whole music collection from my phone thru the receiver. Sounds great! I like that you can control two zones and that it has the newest standards for 4K movies! Very happy with the purchase!

If you like music as I do this Sony is top of the line for performance. The sound separation is perfect. I did have a little trouble learning that all of information to set this unit up is on your flat screen TV, but once I did everything became easier.

Bought to replace my 6 year old Sony STR-DN840. This receiver is being used with my new Sony 900F. Works great to display awesome 4K video. I can now hear audio that was not possible with the not-that-old 840. Works great with my Sony UBP-X800 Blu-ray player.

Purchased to upgrade from a 5.1 system that was also a Sony. Many more options than before, including bluetooth, video and audio input and output settings, and custom sound profiles. Great Sony quality, as always!

I've had a Hi-end Yamaha for years and it's been great. After weeks of use, I am amazed this Sony Receiver does the job very well. Even better than my previous Yamaha. I have to say my speakers and subwoofer has been rocking. High-quality.

I used to not know anything about AV Receivers but after a litte research I realized this was the one for me. Sony did an excellent job to allow a novice like me to get into excellent audio quality. Pair it up with Sony speakers and you have an amazing experience.

I upgraded my 8 year old onkyo receiver to this keeping the same speakers, perfomance is outstanding. It enhances vert small details in the movie scenes which i never heard with old receiver. Music is also awesome. Well worth the money. Compared yamaha before settling with sony, sony won hands down.

A fantastic Receiver with so many extra built-in bells and whistle's, you'll have to actually read the manual (for once) to figure them all out. Sony's done it again! Love this box!

This is my first receiver purchase so I don’t have former comparisons. Overall it fits my needs perfectly.
