Love the Atmos sound from AppleTV 4k & Sony 4k plr

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When hooking up to my new Sony X950G, I had to forgo the eARc setup as I didn't want the receiver to be turned on at all times. I only wanted to be able to use the receiver when chosen. The eArc kicked on the receiver everytime I used the remote to control the TV or DirecTV box. Thankfully, just hooking the Apple TV 4K and my Sony 4k Player directly through here with a standard connection to the TV remedied that problem. Now I am able to get the Atmos sound when desired and get the Dolby Vision picture passed through to my TV when receiver is off. Menu is easy to use when setting up. Great receiver, very happy with my purchase.

A little pricier than typical receivers for basic home use.

My last receiver had a simple A/B speaker switch that worked well. That was one of the reasons I selected this Sony receiver. I was advised thru an online chat with Best Buy, that it was not possible to run my TV audio source to my Zone 2 speakers. I was advised that I could run Pandora music thru the speakers by using a Bluetooth device. It worked and I am glad to be able to listen to music on our patio. Frustrating for this 64 year old to figure these things out, but I am pleased with my purchase. A big Thank You to Best Buy for helping me.
