Customers are saying
Customers often highlight the excellent sound quality, ease of use, and Dolby Atmos capabilities of the 1155W 7.2-Ch. A/V Home Theater Receiver. Many also appreciate the receiver's power and straightforward setup process. While some users noted the unit can get warm during operation and that the menu system could be improved, the positive feedback on sound and ease of use outweighs these concerns for most buyers. The price point is also frequently cited as a positive aspect.

Does the job well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second time purchasing this exact model though a generation ahead with stuff like Bluetooth connectivity and atmos. My last one, after 6 years, lost control of the source selector knob so I junked it. I love Sonys entry level pro theater gear. Highly recommend. Read reviews on other websites to. Everyone agrees about this model.

Mostly happy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a receiver with chromecast built in. This was a decent purchase but when using chromecast it changes the video output to the chromecast output which is pretty boring. The chromecast 4k I have connected to the receiver will photos and whatnot in the ambient mode which would be much more interesting to watch.

does what it says it does
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't used it a lot but the times I've used it it was easily paired with the t.v., speakers and DVD player. I needed to update my "old" Sony receiver because of buying a newer t.v. and chose this one instead of the entry-level receiver. Now, just have to test the Bluetooth, etc. and see how well it will work.

Great AVR but looks cheap
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The AVR works great. The only criticism that I have is that the hardware quality looks cheap. All the parts on the face of the unit are plastic unlike the Denon which is has an aluminum face plate and knobs. Mine will stay in an AV closet so no big deal but if its out on display and looks matter to you, go with Denon.

Sony can do better.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Second purchase of same unit. Both broke down in less than 4 years. Audio is great, video signal, less so.

Nice receiver
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent 250$ Dumb dollars on some dumb speakers my friend was selling for rent. Realized I needed a receiver to actually use them. Now I got this thing and the dumb speakers sound ok, but I still regret buying from my friend

My 5th Sony A/V Home Theater Receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will only use Sony products for my Home Theater experiences. My 1 year old grandson did something to the one that was in our Family Room and we could not get any sound of it. So I bought this one. I like the idea of it being able to connect to the internet wireless.

Great entry level receiver.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup of the receiver was extremely simple. The speaker calibration went smoothly it even identified that the left and right rear speakers were not wired correctly. The sound processing on movies has been excellent so far. Did not give it 5 stars since I still have not used all the features available

Excellent value and real eARC support
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Of all the receivers I've ever used or tested this is the only one that actually supported eARC properly with a Sony TV. The UI is all right and the sound quality is fine for the price. It's a good value.

So far, so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently replaced my Pioneer receiver for this Sony 4k receiver. It's easy to set up. My only issue is when plugging my Amazon FireStick into the video input, the audio quality is not as good as if it's coming directly from the tv. Hoping when I upgrade to a Smart tv, that will get rid of the issue.

Great Receiver for the price
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purposely waited about a year to post a review on this receiver. After that time I can say that this receiver has been as advertised. No issues other than there are still some features I have not had the time to figure out yet. Worth the money.

Good 2 Zone received
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good, serves the purpose, a little pricy for what i am using for but required 2 zones so this seemed like a good option. We had some initial hiccups to connect with TV vis HDMI but quick help /reset of the receiver did the trick.

Good receiver, but not quite great
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wonderfully clear highs, pinpoint accuracy in surround sound but just not enough “punch” for me. For the price though, it’s definitely a good deal. Speakers are Klipsch RP series
