Bought this receiver last year and couldn't be more happier. The spec sheet on this thing is crazy 7.2 channels, 2 zones, awesome wattage per channel. Definitely not disappointed. For the price you can't beat this receiver

Wanted to upgrade my old system to match my Dolby Vision LG tv. Works well with PS5 and Series X. Have not been disappointed since! Definitely worth the price and results are amazing!

I purchased this unit in March, and it has been rock solid. It was easy to set up, has an amazing UI, and has great quality sound (this also depends on your speakers). My set up is only 2ch right now, but it works great!

Good AVR, but SAT/CATV port stopped working 9 months after I got it. Sent back for repair and they fixed it, but was out my AVR for a few weeks. Repair customer service was good.

This receiver is excellent in all senses, really strong sound output and great value for money has everything you need as a feature like air play, chromecast and really easy to setup

The receiver was easy to connect to all of my components via HDMI. The system requires HDMI 2.0 cables to work properly. especially with my Sony - 65" - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV with High Dynamic Range TV.

Solidly built with decent interface using the “easy set up” instructions. Unit well labeled and perfect height and depth for our use. Still learning the extended features but so far so good

Has been working good with one major problem that Sony refuses to fix. The arc had to be disabled or it would turn the TV back on. Sony advised me of the fix, and unfortunately they refuse to fix it with a firmware upgrade.

I love this receiver ant had any problems with it and it handles my 8 15 inch speakers and I love that it has Bluetooth which comes in hand when you wanna listen to what you want when you want

Had trouble with our old receiver. Had to replace so did some checking. We were glad be bought this Sony. Had a friend hook up all our sound system to it and make adjustments. Very happy with it.

This Sony receiver was substituted foe a Denon 960 which was back ordered. My research on the Sony appears to surpass that of the Denon. The specs. Look very good.can wait for it to be hooked up

Sorry, but even though I gave this 4 stars, I have to start with the negatives first. I got the Sony STR-DN1080 to replace a 4 year old Yamaha RX-V773. I wanted to get some newer features such as Dolby Atmos, Bluetooth and Chromecast, which my old receiver did not have. I would rate the Yamaha and this Sony as top of the mid range of A/V receivers. However, as soon as I watched my first video I realized I had taken a step back. For 4 years I had watched every program on my cable box in upscaled 1080p. Most cable boxes, including mine, broadcast shows in 1080i, 720p, or even 480p. And, you can see the difference immediately. The Sony does not have any upscaling, just pass through. It seems like Sony concentrated on the A and forgot the V in an A/V receiver. This would normally be a 2 star deduction, however, Sony was clear in their product decription, so I only decucted 1 star. Other problems were minor. The auto calibration would not work. It kept stating that my front surround speakers were not set up properly, but they were. Several attempts were all fruitless. I finally calibrated manually which was easy enough. I have a small room with a 5.1 setup. Finally, the remote looks and feels cheap. There is no button for instant access to the Video 1 and Video 2 hdmi inputs. There is also no button for information on the screen of the receiver. It basically just displays the name of the input that you are watching. The audio format information will briefly flash when you start but you can't bring it back up. Now for the good. Other than the auto calibration this receiver is pretty easy to setup. It is relatively compact, looks and feels solid, stays fairly cool and the screen is easy to read. The user interface is easy to understand and explanations are offered for settings that you might not understand. I connected to my network via Ethernet so I cannot comment on the wireless connectivity, however, there are 2 antenna on the back of the unit. The highlight is definitely the clarity of the sound. I can clearly hear all of the dialogue in every scene. Sony did a wonderful job in filling the room with sound while keeping the dialogue clear. All of the latest audio formats are supported, as well as Bluetooth and Chromecast. The last 2 speaker channels can be used for Atmos, a second Zone or to bi-amp the front surround speakers. Sony also has a Phantom setting for Atmos if you don't have those speakers. However, I tried it out several times and , at least in my setup, I could not hear any difference in the sound. So, overall I was very happy with the audio, but disappointed in the lack of video upscaling. This was specifically a problem for the cable box as Netflix, Amazon and BluRay looked great..If this doesn't bother you or if all of your video is of very high quality, then I would recommend this receiver.

I am replacing my old system with the same system! Not crazy at all, it is a great system and has worked wonderfully for my media room. Sometimes when it works you don't have to change it!! Love this box!

I bought this to replace an older receiver that was not 4K compliant. I teamed it with a new Sony 49" TV and a Sony Ultra HD Blu Ray player. Being the same brand the components all play well together.

This was very easy to set up and it works great. The only reason I'm not getting it 5 stars is because it's not as loud as it could be. It is still plenty loud and you can hear it outside of my house. Overall I think this is a great system.

Easy to set up and configure. Great sound. I bought this because I wanted an integrated solution for my TV, apps and DirecTV and this receiver worked perfectly.

Best budget 4K receiver to date. Wish it had the ability to do 4K 120hz for the next gen consoles, but for what it can do currently I am very happy with this purchase.

I have always been a fan of Sony products and when this on went on sale I crabbed it. Love the Bluetooth option on this one. I needed to upgrade after buying a 4K TV and this worked out perfect.

The COVID Precautions and low in-store inventory did not make it the unusual Best Buy experience. However, they did as well as could be done, had the product I wanted and at a fair price. Thank you
