Only problem was our AVR was no longer compatible with the new TV. This AVR Works great with the TV, our Roku and our old speakers!

Promising but disappointing

My previous Denon never worked well with ARC, and when I upgraded the system to include Atmos height speaker, would not output to them. Only lasted 2 years. Switched to this Sony, priced equivalently, and the initial impressions were great. Noticed a bump in both visual and sound quality, while the autocalibration was much easier and movies sounded better. Unfortunately, in just a couple of months, one of the HDMI outputs started glitching. Since it happened after 30 days of purchase, BB would not return it, while clearly a defective product. Spent an hour with Sony customer support and now have to mail it in for service. Not a good experience.

Great AV receiver

I currently have it configured to a 5.2 system which is perfect for my room size. Bluetooth works flawlessly and almost instantly with Spotify and Apple Music. The only problem that I had was with buying from open box. The calibration mic did not come with the item which under the description it said that ALL items were included. So buyer beware when you buy open box in excellent condition.

Opening it up I discovered the case was severely bent. I’m not able to use rear surround speakers because it shows ceiling speakers are being used. No sound comes from digital optical when playing Netflix or prime, it comes from tv only. I would appreciate some help. My name is Stephen Clark 8067050320 4619 37th Lubbock tax 79414

We do apologize for the inconvenience. We recommend connecting wired speakers with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms to 16 ohms. We also recommend using speaker wires that are anywhere between 12 to 16 gauge. These are most commonly used for connecting speakers to an amplifier or an Audio/Video (A/V) receiver. Check the link for sample 5.1 diagram for your reference.

Great Receiver

Best mid level AVR!
