We used to have surround sound but wall mounted our tv and needed less cords. This did the trick and gave us all we wanted!

Gave a full rich sound, an improvement over the TV's own speakers, but full volume did not deliver. Maximum level achieved only slightly above normal listening level at a 10 foot distance. Definitely not worth the $99 cost on sale. Maybe worth $40. The next step up cost way to much too.
