I wasn't sure if this soundbar would be any good, but I didn't want to go with the more expensive one. It turned out to be perfect for our small living room. My son in law mounted it on the wall under our TV. It sounds so good especially wihen we watch the "action" movies. We are very pleased with this purchase!

I spent the last year looking and doing research and reading allot of reviews on different sound bars in the $200-400 price range. I have a Kenwood 5.1 surround sound so if I was going to replace that system it better be worth it. I ended up buying this Sony HTC-800 for Christmas, and I have to say so far I'm very happy with it. It took me about 20min to hook everything up and getting the settings to where I wanted them. If you like to watch movies and want to feel like your in the theater this is for you. Listening to Music also sounds really good, everything is crystal clear even when it's turned up over 1/2 way. Overall I'm impressed with this Sony sound bar so far. I've only giving it 4stars because I just hooked it up on the 27th. The only thing I do wish for, was that if you wanted to buy rear speakers not that you need them with this sound bar but $200 for each speaker is a bit much.

This sound bar exceeded my expectations!! This is by far the best sound bar in its price class. The reviews do not do this justice as it must be heard and you will be sold. Great bass and sound quality!

Got open box deal for $200. Fantastic sound. Has as good of surround sound effect as you could ask of a sound bar. I feel like I have rear speakers. Bass is superb. Can only get volume up about 1/3 before it gets out of hand which is great. Highly recommend.

Very pleased with surround sound and plenty of base. Easy set up, user friendly, just cut your system on , go to settings on your phone, select this device to instantly hear your downloaded music or Pandora. The sound is unbelievable! Love this system!

Sound from this thing is amazing. Deep base with built in chromecast. I have it connected to my google home soni can play music from the sound bard using my voice. Wireless subwoofer connects instantly. Worth the money.

This Sony sound bar with subwoofer is good looking and sounds very clear. I wished there was a bit more in the bass range. But satisfied overall. I purchased this system after making sure that I could use it with my current Sony Bravia TV in our guest house. The only problem I have is that despite checking before hand if this model is compatible with my current TV, which it said it was, is that I cannot get the two units synchronized. The sound bar works well with other blue tooth devices with no problem. I have attached the required HDMI cords properly and still cannot get it to work with the TV. It was a great purchase and I would recommend this product. Good value.

The sound quality for this is excellent. I previously had a nice receiver and 5.1 speakers, however the wife wasn't crazy about the space that all took up (and doesn't like rear speakers), so I was looking for something that could come close to hitting the same sound quality as a "big" system, without taking up the space. This did the trick... impressive sound from the subwoofer for the size, and great sound from the bar. Very pleased with the purchase. Considering buying a second one for the other tv in the front room.

Met and exceeded expectations of brand, great sound and love the fact I can use with google home. Strong bass and highs, 110% happy.

Great sound bar for a great price. We bought it on Black Friday. It has great sound quality. I love the Bluetooth feature. The sub woofer packs enough power to shake the room.

Simple and nice looking setup. Sound quality is awesome. Best soundbar I have heard for under $500. If you are looking for something compact and nice looking buy this unit.

This is a great sound bar if you’re looking for easy set-up and good quality sound for small to medium spaces. Installation with my Sony 4K TV was about as easy as you could imagine and took less than 10min. The sound is definitely fuller and richer than the TV speakers but this sound bar and sub lack the power to fill my large family room. The only real complaint I have is that you can not adjust bass and treble...you are stuck with a handful of pre-set sound modes. I got this during the Black Friday sale but I’m not sure I’d pay full price for this sound bar.

Great sound bar much better than my 300 dollar Sony. Voice feature doesn't really work well tho.. sometimes it has to be louder than I'd like to hear the talking. action movies and other loud things sound perfect tho so maybe an update can fix the voice up feature later

The wireless subwoofer makes the difference. I love the sound and the base of the subwoofer is perfect for watching movies or listening to music. Love it.

Enhances the sound of our Sony HTC900 TV nicely. Good bass. A bit “tiny” sounding if cranked up to loud. Good sound system for the price.

I purchased the Sound Bar along with a Sony 49inch XBR for a bedroom. Installation could not have been any easier. Power Cable, Optical cable, pushed a button on the sub and it was connected to the TV in 15 minutes. After a quick configuration change on the TV the sound was blasting from the soundbar. I laid the soundbar flat on the TV stand and the sub off to the right of the TV and the sound is excellent for a bedroom. ' For a Living room with a larger TV you may want to go with a true 5.1 or 7.1 system. For what we needed in the bedroom this is great.

I purchased this as a gift for my parents (70 yrs old), who both have a hard time hearing the TV (Samsung), even though there was already a Yamaha soundbar set up. The sound quality of speech as well as music is fantastic, sounds like you're in a movie. They are the kind of parents from the old generation, where they make do with what they have and didn't want a new soundbar, but with this soundbar, they had to admit that the sound is really improved and they are very grateful and really glad that I got it for them.

This soundbar puts off great sound. The wireless sub is nice too compared to the older models where the bar and sub were connected.

I had an Onkyo Home Theater in a box set up with my family room tv for about 8 years. However when we set up a dedicated theater area we moved that system and I was left with a real sound deficit. My wife wanted a clean lines look without all the speakers and Sony’s sound bar was very attractive. It produces a room filling sound and has a wireless sub that can be placed anywhere it is convenient for your layout. I also appreciate the fact that the remote has separate buttons for both volume and sub woofer gains. While watching a movie, if you feel there is too much bass during heavy action scenes, you can lower it from your seat. I also appreciate and use the Bluetooth pairing to connect my devices to play music through the system which is very capable. All in all, I highly recommend this product.
