I was drawn to this soundbar due to the design. It lays flatter and therefore doesn't block the remote control sensor to the TV. The sound doesn't disappoint and has several settings for hearing clear voices or to get surround sound for a football game. Great buy for the money. Using the bluetooth feature for playing music is easily set up and the soundbar/subwoofer deliver.

This is a really good sound bar and sub woofer, 2.1 system. I am not an audio file, so I can’t tell you this is the best sound in a sound bar, but it works really well. It gives great sound with good sub woofer base. It’s pretty easy to set up, I’m pretty intuitive, you can either hook up your devices all to the sound bar like a receiver through HDMI, or you can hook up your TV with a optical cable. I had mine set up with HDMI cables at first, but ran into a problem with one of my devices, so I just switched it to The optical cable, and it acts just like an external speaker to the TV. This is my recommendation, based on what the DIRECTV geek squad representative told me. It works just like it should now. I read some of the reviews that talked about a sub woofer delay, I have my sub woofer at least 20 feet away from the sound bar itself and cannot tell any kind of delays at all. It sounds awesome to me. I also connected this to my chrome cast Google Home system with no problems.

An amazing sound system that not only provides fantastic sound quality and performance, but also saves your tv speakers from the annoying fluctuations in volume between action and dialogue in films these days. Great for gaming too. Shooter games come to life with that kicking sub woofer. Top notch sound bar system. Highly recommended.

When I decided to go 4K I looked at different soundbars in the $300 - $400 range. I was looking for something that had multiple HDMI inputs so I could drive all the audio directly to the soundbar and pass through the signal to the TV, and not worry about an optical cable going from the TV to the soundbar. This soundbar fit the bill and replaced my old Sony HT-XT1, which also had multiple HDMI inputs. The sound from this soundbar is great for our living room, and the subwoofer adds just the right amount of punch. Setup is easy and I especially like the Home screen where you can switch between the various inputs on the TV screen.

When I decided that I wanted a soundbar for my TV, I started to look around to see what I thought might be some good features to have. The one thing that I quickly saw that I wanted is a system that has HDMI ARC, which would allow for the audio system to be controlled by the TV. However, after digging deeper I saw that most ARC-capable soundbars used HDMI 1.4 ports that were not HDCP 2.2 capable. This means that whatever input you connected to the soundbar would not be able to send video to the TV in 4k. As 4k TVs are ubiquitous now, this seems like a bad design decision. Fortunately, this Sony soundbar is HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 capable and it has three HDMI inputs. This gives your TV an additional two HDMI inputs if you need them, which is a nice feature to have. Pros: - As expanded above, HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 ports so 4k HDR content can be pushed through the HDMI ARC port. - Dead simple setup and use. Plug the sub in, plug the main soundbar in and if you'd like the wifi features walk through that on the TV. HDMI CEC is turned on by default on the soundbar, so after that you can use the TV remote for most functionality. - Spotify integration is a nice feature to have. Neutral: - I'm not an audiophile so when it comes to the sound I'll say that the system is much better than my TV speakers but doesn't knock my socks off. I'm sure there are much better reviews of this system's sound elsewhere online. Cons: - I think this is more a con of HDMI CEC, but I wish that control of the three inputs on the soundbar would flow through to the TV. As it is, if you want to switch from one to another you must use the soundbar remote.

I owned the earlier model and loved it, but unfortunately, a power surge destroyed it, and my warranty was up. I bought the newer version of what I already had thinking there's no way it could be better than my original and it is. The sound quality is great feel like I'm in a movie theater. Everybody who comes over comments on how good the sound is.

I purchased this for a living room, and for the last month has performed well. It has enough HDMI ports to connect electronics too, has great speaker output and volume, the wireless subwoofer is great quality as well. I have not encountered any issues small or big. Has worked perfectly fine for me throughout the time I have owned it.

First sound bar I have ever purchased, was wanting something with HDMI inputs, this was the lowers priced Sony sound bar with 3 HDMI inputs. I am very pleased with the features and sound quality. This is mounted in my master and it sounds great for that size room. I have the sub set to volume 6 of 12 and that is plenty of bass for the movies I have watched so far. Bluetooth and nfc are a nice touch and work great. Without getting into the detailed specs, I feel this is a great sound bar and planning to buy another to put into the kids game room, maybe even one in the garage ;)

We chose this soundbar as a compromise between high-end surround sound system and built-in tv speakers which never produce good sound quality. Live in a condo so don't really need the full-blown surround system. This soundbar produces good quality sound and has a bluetooth feature so I have paired it with my IHeart app on smartphone. Came with a wireless subwoofer which paired itself automatically to the soundbar. Optional wireless rear speakers are available.

Was in the market for a decent soundbar for my Sony X850d. Wanted to stay within the Sony ecosystem because I knew the setup and use would be easy, and I wouldn't have to worry about any compatibility issues; all working from the TV remote. As far as the sound goes, those who prefer a bass heavy system will be disappointed, but that goes for most sound bars. To me, the sound was pretty balanced for highs, mids and lows. Video games come alive, movies sound awesome, and also pretty good for just listening to music. Explosions can be heard from rooms on the 2nd floor. Key point is to adjust your exception to how much you are paying, this obviously won't sound as good as a component system hooked up to a receiver, not as good as those sound bars $600 and up. Other brands may have bars slightly cheaper, but staying in the same ecosystem will prevent a lot of headaches that mixing brands bring about. That ease of use is worth the slightly higher price tag to me.

It is the subwoofer that makes all the difference & worth the purchase. It adds clarity, sound depth & provides the kind of bass that a quality sound bar is supposed to project to make it feel like you are in a theatre. Good for smaller spaces, not great for wide ones. The volume & bass quality leaves you wanting more if you have it set in a more opened location. Overall, it's a satisfying theatre-style soundbar for the on sale price.

Soundbar set up was slightly complicated as I was trying to set up with my new Samsung 4K smart TV. I also bought two WL Sony surround speakers and the surround sound is really good. Of course, 5.1 would have been a better choice for my room which is bigger.
