I am disappointed in that I really can not tell much difference between having the sound bar on and having the sound bar off (TV volume).

Don't spend the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It worked great for 3 months then quit! We didn't purchase the warranty in the store so we had to go through Sony and they refused to refund our money. They would only repair or replace it.

If your phone is Bluetooth connected and you are watching tv the volume is affected by the phone settings even when connected to hdmi inputs. Just turning this thing off and on is an exercise in extreme patience. Once you finally get something sorted out you have to only use the remote for the sound bar to get reasonable control over the audio. If you finally get connected (I often just give up and deal with listening to the tv speakers) the sound is not bad. Not as crisp as I expected. Wish I had bought something else like the Polk. Bummer misdirection Best Buy.

What is your major malfunction?

I had to take it back so they replaced the unit. Cool. The second one lasted about 4 months before it started malfunctioning. Geek squad sent it off and 4 weeks later they said it couldn't be fixed so they sent me a new one. Cool. I've had the third one about a month now, and it's doing the same thing as the last one. Not cool. I love the way these things sound, but if geek squad can't fix this one, I'll probably find out in another 4 weeks, I'm going for the refund instead of replacement. Very disappointing.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like this system, I purchased with the Sony 4K tv and was really in love with the functionality it gave as I moved from an LG soundbar that just didn't work very well. The app needs A LOT of work. The issue that I had was that the wireless sub disconnected itself from the system while listening to music, watching movies or simply starting the system up for the day. Only way to reconnect was to manually power cycle the sub. After all troubleshooting there was no solution and no root cause found. Unfortunately I returned and was not willing to try another Sony system.

worked great at first now it is not working

Unplug any devices connected as well and wait for at least 1 min. Can't get it connected

We still don't have it connected, even after calling pioneer who makes out tv. They told us to call either the cable company or geek squad because it would be difficult. We did not want to have to pay essentially the price of this again to get it connected. Very disappointed we believed the sales person.

I should have returned it,.

I ascribed it to a rare bizarre activity. Not so. It happens with disturbing frequency. I can no longer return it. I advise anyone considering this purchase to be willing to return it with the first sign of sound distortion. A better solution might be to pass on this unit in the first place. I paired it with my 75" Sony ultra HDTV tv. I am regretful. Don't make my mistake.

Sounded great while it worked

All highs not enough lows!

Had to return.

I had to keep calling Sony and resetting it. And that did not always even work. The ARC worked and the tv would control the volume, but the input would not change and I would not have sound most of the time. Four calls to Sony later and they told me I had to mail it to New York. No time for that. I just returned it and bought a MartinLogan
