However, if you can afford something better for your main TV I would recommend something better.

Better than the TV speakers.......

Adequate for regular TV audio, but if you are watching DVDs or programming that demands better audio quality, you really should use a more complete system. the sound bar allows you to save a little energy if you don't need to run a complete system.
