I purchased a new Samsung TV and while the sound wasn't horrendous from the set's speakers they just weren't adequate enough for movies and TV. I researched a few soundbars as a wired setup would not work in my current living room scenario. After figuring out my budget and seeing that this went on sale I pulled the trigger. I have not regretted it. The bass is adequate enough to where I can hear it from the upstairs bedroom and the treble and highs are very clear. Sony has been a brand that my father used in the past so I went with my guy and have not regretted it. It suits my needs perfectly.

Picked this up over the weekend to replace a low-end Vizio sound bar that was adequate, but had some technical issues. Although the price is a little higher than I would have liked to pay ($399 on sale), it is awesome. I watched Fury on Blue Ray and the bombs shook the whole house, even at a moderate volume. So far I am extremely happy with this purchase. The only downside is that apparently my Sony Bravia TV doesn't have HDMI audio out and so I'm stuck with optical, which seems to be pretty awesome so far.

Very disapointed about the sound quality. Not loud at all.

I was comparing this and the HTCT380 and I'm glad I decided to go with the 780. For the small nominal price difference I think that the sound on this is much more deep and clear, if you're going to spend the money on the 380, might as well go 780!

Room filling, deep base, clear high notes, theater quality, easy to set up, looks as nice as it sounds...sub woofer is much bigger and deeper than you'd expect at this price point. Love the simplicity!

I did read the reviews prior to my purchase and was concerned with the comments about the Sub Woofer disconnecting and not reconnecting. I did experience this and after rebooting the Sub Woofer I was able to regain audio out of it. As long as this fix works again if the problem continues I can live with it. The sound is excellent!

Sounds amazing! All the movies sound life like and real

Purchased sound bar on 8/7/2015. Demoed by Sony rep, who happened to be working on the new Sony sound bar display. Excellent sound when playing Blu-ray discs!!! Playing music via Bluetooth O.K. but only with certain type of songs. Sub could be thither on music. Sub very good on Blu-ray movies only. Can not go wrong for the sale price of $399.99. If you want the sound bar to "KICK" buy the Sony HT-NT3. This one rocks! Remember all 3 new models from Sony are future ready. Overall, very good sound for the price.

I'm very hard to please and even for a picky audiophile like myself, this is pretty darn good for being a simple 2.1 bar. Great buy with a new Sony 55" 4k TV. Simple yet awesome for a single living room.

I bought this because the tv I had was a sony. It has awesome sound for movies. Its mediocre for music though. Happy with my purchase.

Excellent sound bar. I got this sound bar on sale for $260.00. I have a Samsung sound bar in my game room. The sound is much more crisp on the Sony. The bass could be deeper, but it is perfect for my bedroom. The sound bar looks good and it very easy to set up. I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't on sale, but now I know how it sounds, and I would buy another even if it's not on sale

I replaced a 6 year old Bose 321 system with this soundbar and I love it. Shocked by the value! The old Bose was good. This is better!

I bought this soundbar as an open box item from bestbuy.com, which was significantly cheaper. I would recommend doing the same if it is available. It is a huge upgrade from the internal speakers on my 75" Sony. It is tied into my Sony tv, so if I power on the tv, it comes on automatically and if I use the volume buttons on my cable (or tv) remote, it works for the soundbar. It also has a bluetooth feature so I can play songs from my phone. I am very happy with my purchase.

Sound is amazing! Voices are clear; bass isn’t overwhelming but can be adjusted to do so if that’s what you wanted. I really like the sleek angled look of the bar and NFC. Fits our living room perfectly! I went with Sony CT780 over the JBL SB400. But I could not get the ARC connection to work as described in store. I would love to use the pass-through feature but after researching all day I just went with the optical connection. This is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars.

Purchased this sound bar after shopping around a bit... Sounds very nice with great bass... Its bass level is adjustable and has a aditional 3 HDMI ports in order to connect ur components to it... Switches to watever unit is on...

After reading numerous reviews and going in store for demo it was very clear that this sound bar was exactly what I was looking for. Easy set up, great sound, it's a no brainier.

I recently got this sound bar at my local Best Buy as an open box item. I couldn't be more impressed with it. For being a 2.1 channel sound bar it pumps out fantastic audio and the subwoofer has some great bass. I tested it out with Netflix, Hulu, and Xbox live gaming and everything sounds fantastic. Don't be hesitant to get this sound bar. You will love it!

Great sound and very nice bass for movies or gaming.

This was purchased to help with the dull sound output from my LG TV. The install was simple and there's good adjustment. I recommend using the smartphone app to pair via Bluetooth to get the most out of the adjustments. Much easier to manage with the app vs the remote.

This is the best sound bar ever. The sound and the bass is phenomenal !!! You will not regret this purchase. Sony products are the best anyway ! The volume can be on 10 and its loud so just imagine 50 ! Party time now !!!
