Wonderful Sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to use with my 32" Vizio HD 1080p Smart TV. The sound on the TV was not bad, but definitely lacking. I didn't want a separate sub-woofer and this fit the bill. Rich, deep bass and crisp highs and mids. several sound presets to choose from as well. Perfect for a medium sized den or medium sized living room. Very happy I made the purchase.

Great system for a normal living room.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a replacement for a Vizio system that had a wireless subwoofer and two rear speakers. It always sounded a little underpowered, and the extra speakers took up to much room. The Sony sounds much better even without the remote and speakers. I have a 50in plasma TV, and it rests on top of the speakers no problem. Unless you have a massively large living room, I don't see the need for anything else. The only issue I had was setting it up with my Turtle Beach wireless headphones. The optical out would only work if the speakers were on, which defeated the purpose of having headphones. I discovered that the system is set up by default to work with Sony Bravia TVs, which auto-detect the HDMI signal and turn the speakers on and off when the TV is on or off. If you don't have a Sony TV, you need to change the pass through setting from AUTO to ON. Then the digital optical pass through will work to send a signal to the headphones. Took about an hour to figure that out.

Nice soundbar, but do not expect greatness
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: 1) Looks refined 2) You may (should!) place a heavy TV on top of it 3) easy to connect 4) Bravia Sync ability. Cons: 1) Sound is an improvement to most TV speakers, but do not expect an amazing difference in sound effects, dialogues, etc. 2) Bass is weaker than expected

great sound, very impressed with quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.bought this unit to downsize from a full on 5.1 surround that was too much for the space we have and the limited options of output from our t.v. Impressed with having the hdmi inputs and now only one hdmi cable going to our tv. This unit is heavy and puts out room filling sound, not the amount of bass we had before but the sound quality itself is vastly improved. Once I completely set it up and went through all the audio options (bass. treble, sub output) it sounds much better and I am impressed and very happy with our purchase. If you don't have any digital optical output on your tv but have hdmi give this unit a look, you will be impressed. Another great product from sony

Excellent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony keeps surprising me - the set up took less than a couple of minutes, and using it was so simple that I didn't even bother using the manual. Sound quality is very decent - much better than what I expected. This will not replace a dedicated 7.1 system, but the highs are high, bass is doing its thing - and overall it's an excellent sound bar for a smaller room.

Glad I got it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HTX-T1 exceeded my expectations! Easy setup with ARC HDMI. Mine is connected to a Sony 32" smart tv in our bedroom that has really wimpy speakers. No it's not 5.1 etc. but way better than today's small TV speakers. The HTX-T1 really enhances the viewing experience. Good job Sony!

Great system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this sound system last week. Thought it was good. But, returned it in favor of something different and I regret it. Gonna be re-buying it again. No wires, no bulk, good sound. Went great with my sony bravia 49 inch 4k uhd tv. Not 5.1 surround but good for adding better sound to a tv in a smaller room.

great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for the price. All thin tv's need a soundbar and this is perfect for the price. If you want amazing sound for music, you're going to have to spend more. However, this is still a good product.....nothing matches it for this price point.

Worth every penny
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound is great. Bass is great. Love that it takes up hardly no space, doesn't add to the t.v area clutter w/the built in woofer.

Great setup for smaller rooms
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I opted to purchase this to add in conjunction with my new Panasonic TV. The two primary driving forces were the HDMI switching capability (the TV only has 2 HDMI inputs) and provide an added depth to the TV's weak speakers It executes both functions very well for my needs. The setup should not be used instead of a full surround sound system in larger rooms, but works well in smaller living room or bedroom environments. There's just enough bass to give a well rounded sound to movies, TV, and music. The bluetooth functionality built-in is a handy feature as well if you want to use it as a speaker for your tablet or smartphone. The NFC function makes it very easy to setup/pair your mobile device to the soundbar. There's an app from Sony that makes it a bit easier to modify/change any of the audio settings for your liking. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase after 4 months of use!

Delivers on Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This sound bar performs well - perfect for a small to medium room. Sound is crisp at all ranges, and penetrates to all corners. Set-up is fairly straightforward, requiring minimal connections using either optical or HDMI cables. Best fit is using an HDMI cable with an HDTV that has an HDMI (ARC) input. Only drawback - I have a Samsung HDTV and the sound bar doesn't start automatically when I turn on the TV, even though it shuts off automatically when I turn off the TV. Sony tech support is useless - long waiting times, and they simply regurgitate the fixes that are in the product manual or on their website. When those fixes don't work, then tell you that it's a setting on the TV (not a Sony), even though the sound transmits once the sound bar is turned on, and the automatic shut-off works. Work around fix - program the TV's universal remote to recognize the sound bar (on a Comcast 3 device universal remote, code 31759 works).

spacesaver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought Sony soundbar to give flat screen tv an extra punch. Looks good under tv and takes up little space. Sounds very good but doesn't allow much adjustment. That's ok, I just don't like tv blasting me out of the room through my hifi equipment!

Sound Problems With Netflix/Amazon Prime
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound in my Bravia 4K TV is ok but needed improvements so I purchased the Sony 2.1 home theater system. The TV sound is near great with this addition. The problem I encountered is in using Netflix and Amazon Prime. When I switch over to Netflix or Amazon the sound is reduced. I have to turn the external Sony 2.1 to maximum to even hear the sounds of a movie. I spoke with technical support, Best Buy and online without any successful resolution. Typical responses such as check settings and update software. All of these options were checked by me during self-diagnosis without any better results. I may have to return this unit since I watch a lot of movies on Netflix and Amazon and this is creating a problem especially when the TV automatically switches the sound back to the TV speakers and shuts down the Sony 2.1 when it encounters the volume discrepancy. Nothing else to report except that I tried other sound systems with my new TV and thought I had a match to the deficient sound of the new Sony TV and guess I am back to the drawing board.

Amazing System for the price!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where to begin? This item is stunning! This is an absolutely great system, a with amazing sound which can be tuned to specific types of programming by way of preset sound settings such as Music, Sports, Games, Standard, and Movies. Setting it up out of the box was quick and easy; just plug it in the wall and to the TV through Optic Input (As I did but HDMI is also available) and it is ready to go. The unit has 3 HDMI inputs and one HDMI Output plus an Optic Output for sound. Bluetooth/ NFC technology take ease of use to the next level, creating an easy way to stream media from other devices. 170 watts of excellent sound, a futuristic looking remote; its compact size; and a sleek but durable glass top make this unit a must for any room of the house. And I mean any. Sound out of this unit is stunning in a home theater or in a bedroom.

Something New
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the design of the system, but the quality could be better. If it was to me I prefer having 7 speakers than one, but this saves the hassle with wires all over the house.

Great for price and quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought this for masterbedroom. It is a perfect addition for expanded sound and simple use. I really like the Bluetooth pairing which is very clear n crisp. I got mine for $179.99 on Memorial Day by price matching Sears. The remote is great it just feel cheap. Overall sound is a 4.2 I think this is best for bedrooms or smaller apartment living room. Large rooms will not get the depth they need in the vocals for movies. I tested this on every setting in my bedroom and I found type2 voice n clear audio sound field better for movies.

Exceeded Expecations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very simple setup; very nice design with a useful remote. The sound is great for what it is, and has been a huge help for simplying my television/music setup. I have a small Toshiba television with awful sound, so this is a huge help, and the NFC/bluetooth has been awesome. The switching HDMI works very well. The intergration wtih SongPal works really well and the ability to act as a remote control. This sound device was very well designed and quite impressive. The price is very fair for the quality and feature set. Big help for me. Thanks.

Got a defective one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to enhance our Sony Bravia TV. The sound of this system is pretty good for the price, but it was not a good match for the layout of our room. Worse, it was missing the back left support foot, so it was too wobbly to use. Surprisingly poor QC for Sony. I had to return it.

excellent sound system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace a Sony Home theater (5 speakers + woofer) I bought in 2005. I can now play my ipod through the system as i could not with the old system. I recommend this product as it has excellent sound quality for the price.
